I like it so much better than some bullshit force field that surrounds the ejected pilot. Where does the power come from for that? It's so silly. A sealed ejected module solves a lot of problems. Another curious thing nobody talks about, clone pilots seen in ROTS had strange open-faced helmets with rebreathers attached, which seems odd, when the ship is supplying them oxygen, but it makes sense because the rebreather is in case of an emergency breach. All they have to do is slap on an emergency piece that seals their helmet completely, and turn on their rebreather. Presumably, rebel pilots had an emergency oxygen mask as well. X-Wings had a lot of cargo space as we see in ESB. Prepared for all kinds of contingencies, so they too have solutions. it's nearly comical how much shit can be stuffed into an x-wing, but it stands to reason, and in stark contrast to the Imperial approach with their starfighters.
