>>218659932>>218661510The TNG formal uniforms we ended up with were mostly just untucked/elongated versions of the regular outfits, with some of them looking like they had the frontal openings of most of the TOS movie uniforms. I don't hate them, but I wish the monster maroon designs stuck around in some capacity more. I think they were used up until or into the 2350s, very much within living memory to the TNG days, so I wonder when their last usages really were?

Why didn't Janeway throw Neelix off the ship for attacking a bridge officer?

>>218665302>>218665385>>218665396>>218665408Is Avery Brooks a good actor or no? I like his general presence and his intensity but I don't think that's the same thing as knowing how to act, which I think he's kinda bad at.
>>218659610The actors all hated the TMP uniforms, hence the huge change in TWOK...
>>218665302Is lower decks true-trek?
>>218665465I haven't seen it, which means no. (Kidding but jokes aside probably not)
>>218665444He's great in his father-son scenes with Jake. Always felt genuine to me. But that "Noooo!" in the first episode, when his wife died, had me in stitches.
>>218665501Oh yeah the entire first episode flashback was terrible. Good call on the father scenes though. I can dig it.
It is physically impossible for black people to be good actors.
>>218665621Denzel Washington was good as Blade
>>218665302Best: ShatnerWorst: Takei
>>218665501Brooks advocated for more father-son bonding the scenes to fight the stereotype of absent black fathers. And what do NuTrek writers do but fight the nuclear family at every turn.
>>218665501He's great with Old Man Sisko as well, all the family stuff really, and he's great as Nog's mentor later on.But other than that, Brooks is only good when Sisko is pissed off. Which thankfully is quite often.

>>218665805The nuclear family is facism. Trump supports that kind of thing.

Oh Seska, you bitch.I love this horrible woman.
>>218665302Bashir is GODAWFUL in the first season. What the hell were they thinking.
Finally got to Damar's first appearance on my rewatch. Just 10 or so more 'sodies until Weyoun debuts and then DS9 REALLY starts.
>some anons: "durrr stop bitching about nutrek and just ignore it">other (possibly the same) anons: *shoves it in your face all the time to make sure it can't just be ignored*what are some episodes that are similar
I feel like they wanted this guy to be Voyager's Dukat but he's just not getting there. In this episode he got totally played by his former massa.
>>218666226Yeah bro I'm rewatching DS9 now and was really struck by that. I didn't remember how bad it was. Fortunately for everybody, it was uphill from there. I'd put him squarely in the average/neutral category overall.
>>218666407Hard for Voyager to have one central villain though. Did you expect him to chase Voyager 70,000 lightyears through the quadrant?
on "Invincible" Season 4, Episode 2 when Nolan (J.K. Simmons), Allen (Seth Rogen), and Telia (Tatiana Maslany) need a ship to acquire weapons and entities powerful enough to kill Viltrumites. However, they also need to keep a low profile, so they need a ship on the clunkier side. That's where the Venture starship comes into play, complete with "Star Trek"-esque music that's just distinct enough to avoid any copyright infringement. They're then greeted by the Captain (Scott Aukerman), whose bald aesthetic is rather reminiscent of Patrick Stewart's Captain Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." He continues to introduce other members of the crew — Worg, Download, and Counselor Tuva.
>>218666502Probably not. His actor is pretty good though.
>>218666533>Seth RogenCool, I'll make sure not to watch.
>>218666533who the fuck even posts this shit? is it some tranny?
>>218666717Shilling but IRONICALLY!
>>218666533This stupid ass cartoon can't decide whether or not it wants to be taken seriously. I only watched the first season because the black girlfriend was so obnoxious. I was even rooting for Omni-Man to kill everyone at the end. And then there's that scene of a JPG being dragged across the screen being passed off as animation. Think of how many shows died so this could get funding.
>>218666631The new Muppets show was good in spite of Seth Rogen's involvement.

No. The rules aren't important. What's important is, it's their pronouns. Every time I throw this ball, a hundred different things can be on the other end to catch. he/she/them/xe might feel like a man, a woman, something in between or none whatsoever. The point is, you never know. You try to anticipate, set a strategy for all the possibilities as best you can, but in the end it comes down to throwing one pitch after another and seeing what happens. With each new consequence, the gender begins to take shape.

After watching Inter Arma I am left wondering what the general consensus on Section 31 is. The way I see it, every other government has their own S31 equivalent and none of them are above doing underhanded shit, so why shouldn't Starfleet do the same? Is Section 31 really that immoral?
>>218671638That's one of my favorite DS9 eps. I love how the whole episode is framed as a classic noir mystery. Things Past is much less interesting in terms of style and the mystery itself.

>>218677542i love this image so much. it's so powerful.
>A ship counselor?! What is wrong with this generation? Back in my days we weren't sissies, who needed to be hand holded on the bridge, so we don't cry!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYfon5MAiEU
>>218677542Oh come on, putting Jeffrey Combs next to them was so not fair.
>>218677542All hail Trekpu
>>218677916Troi was a DEI hire. She did nothing for no one.
>>218677949putting Jeffrey Combs next to them doesn't magically stop anyone from wanting their autograph from getting in their line, retard. there's not some rule where you can only choose one.
>>218674502The purpose of Academy was to reintroduce the Doctor character and add a parasocial element to champion LLM rights
>>218678478She sucked a lot of dicks
>>218674502Arguable the only good thing about Kurtzman is that he probably has a cheap production pipeline to produce a show with a lot of sci-fi VFX. If they keep him on they should strip out all his creative control and let other people do that.
betazoid eyes look demonic ngl
>>218678587Imagine how she must walk through the halls in her skin tight bodysuit empathing “god I want to fuck those tits” from every guy she passes.
Why does Robert Duncan McNeil hate Star Trek now? (not nu-trek but tru-trek)
>>218678494When you have limited time and money, you go for the best.
>>218678746nobody at a con standing in line to pay 70 bucks for Jeff's scribble has limited time or money. nice try faggot but it's not his fault nutrek is dogshit and people would rather leave than stand in line to get an autograph from any of those shit characters. I guarantee if Marc Alaimo and Armin Shimmerman were in those other 2 seats each person would be leaving one line and getting into the next.
>outsmarted by Wesley>out-engineered by O'Brien>out-inceled by Barclay>out-Spocked by Data>out-blacked by WorfWhat purpose does he serve?
>>218678727Does he? What did he say?
>>218678831>and people would rather leave than stand in linewait I misspoke because there isn't even a fucking line in the first place
>>218678831I dunno, why would you want an autograph from a facist, or a je... capitalist?
>>218678856Realigns the dilithium crystal matrix to restore antimatter mediation. Any more questions, chud?
>>218678856No one out disabilitied him. Unless we count how retarded Troi could be.
>>218678893Didn't he stop going to conventions because he fell out with someone?
>>218678856geordi's main role on the show is data's best friend, being the chief engineer and bad with women are secondary character traits
>>218672113>that smile is infectiousIs that why I'm feeling itchy?
>>218672113I feel bad for her and Barefoot Holly Hunter because they sound disabled.
NuTrek best Trek. Its what it should always be. Finally they have money for real aliens, instead of retarded "oh everyone looks the same, because someone seeded the galaxy trillions of years ago", and money to hire real actors who can actually act. Michael was exquisite.
>>218679030>>218678856he does mentor wesley in the ways that being an adult sucks
>>218678654At one point it has to be a tax scam. There's no way these shows are turning enough profit to be operating legitimately.
>>218679372Michael Dorn?
>>218679492probably not a tax scam but accounting scam sure. either way they own it forever and it'll probably bring some amount of profit in infinity years.
>>218679658No, Spock sister Michael.
>>218679492
>>218679947Which 'sodes does she appear in?
>>218680037All of Discovery. Pay attention to who's crying, it's probably her.
>>218680138its everyone including the audience
>>218678530I used to enjoy watching Picardo's character in the Voyager series, up until he exposed himself as the uber-woke faggot that he is irl. Now I can't stand to see him in anything, anywhere... Even his appearance in the Orville is cringe to me.
>>218680505Almost all actors are like that howeverbeit
>>218680505sounds like autism and denial, why would you even show up on /tv/?
>>218680505I liked his character growing up but AI discourse ruined him for me. I’ve used LLM chatbots to jerk off with the exact amount of sentience he espoused.
>>218680587>I’ve used LLM chatbots to jerk off with the exact amount of sentience he espoused. The fact that you'd admit this to any other human being makes me suspect you have even less self-awareness than the LLM.
>>218679372Nutrek is for faggots and no one else. Queers, wokeists, and morons have taken over entertainment to the point of driving sane people out of the business, making most everything they make worthless and unwatchable.
>>218680505they're all faggots, but to me knowing that only makes them better actors. like they'd be fucking insufferable to be around irl but have the talent and experience to put that aside to become intriguing characters on-screen. of course, credit should also be given to the rest of the crew but still
>>218680692>any other human being
>>218680753Star trek was always woke.
>>218680926Star Trek was always racist, xenophobic, colonialist, heteronormative and white-coded
how did season 7 of tng manage to have some of the series worst episodes
>>218681095Gambit is so bad. TNG has bad two parters in general (besides times arrow). Now that I think about Voyager probably had the best ironically
>>218680505I'm going to check out Frakes and Spiner's podcast as soon as I get some free time. But the minute they start dropping politics instead of names, I'm out.
>>218681085Star Trek was soviet utopia.
>>218681185homeward and sub rosa are two absolute stinkers too, the latter moreso
>>218681257Yes, that’s what I said.
>>218678955Hemmer out-blinds Geordi. Yeah I know he's from NuTrek but he was based.
my most hated TNG episode is Suddenly Human. sure there are worse ones but that one pissed me off the most
>>218681095They were clearly running out of steam and the show would have become Voyager quality if they had continued I imagine. Though I do wonder what their plans would have been for something like a season 8-9. Maybe more DS9 crossovers.
>>218680587>I’ve used LLM chatbots to jerk off with the exact amount of sentience he espoused.I'm afraid you're just easily hoodwinked, my friend.
>>218681328True, Hemmer was awesome.
>>218681353I hate the one where Wesley saves Picard by speedhacking his tricorder like a technowizard to kill some 3D asset, then tells Picard how gay he is for him. I hate all of Wesley’s episodes come to think of it. Brave I know
>>218681423Not as easily hoodwinked as voyager’s crew.
>>218681257Awfully American for a "soviet utopia".
>>218668920
>>218663901Why didn't Janeway castrate Neelix for being a pedophile? Because she is and always has been evil.

>>218679492nutrek has been a marketing expense for paramount since peeplus was cbs all access.
>>218681095All good things was the best television season finale of all time so that negates any problems season 7 had
>>218678955>No one out disabilitied himWhat about wheelchair chick from DS9? Georgi could at least get around on his own. (I won't include Pike since he was a full-blown invalid)

>>218682564 (Me)I'm on HRT btw
DS9 S7 has the opposite problem of TNG S7 and VOY S7 where instead of running out of ideas they crammed too many into ideas into one seasons. I genuinely think it could've had an 8th season where the war ends halfway and the remaining half is used to deal with the aftermath, a better conclusion for Dukat and Winn, and one or two wacky Gamma Quadrant 'sodes in the vein of the early seasons.
>>218682564Based
>>218681328>be the one good character in all of nutrek>get killed off after one seasonI don't blame the actor for jumping ship but if he had stayed it would have been better than nimrod tamtarg or whatever her name is.
>>218682371He already infected the ship's gel packs with a debilitating fungus trying to make Mac and cheese from scratch.
>>218684424Blame Starfleet for having air conditioning vents on a starship that can easily spread fire.
>>218684378>I don't blame the actor for jumping shipthat's not how it works anymorethey already have all that shit written and filmed all at once and like 2 years before it even airs
>>218681257Star Trek was frontier cowboy manifest destiny taken to the extreme
>>218684466Starships supposedly have automatic fire suppression systems.
Don't lie. You'd totally let Kes drain you dry.
