Just finished. I figured I'd knock out something popular and recent that I had skipped and this is the most popular horror movie on letterboxd I hadn't seen yet. I was expecting a take on slashers and instead this is kind of like a girl version of This Is the End. It's all about the characters being stuck in one place and arguing with each other. Lee Pace was good, guy's versatile. You are definitely supposed to dislike the characters, but they're still insufferable. Almost no gore. Whatever.
>>218664301that's one of the most popular lettrboxd films? still don't think it'll make my watchlist based on the title and cast

>>218675377It was a decent scream but that ending was abysmal. Stu could of saved it but the writers were too afraid to go full retard
Watched this last night. The movie was pretty good but the ending was awful. No reveal of anything. It was actually just her deformed secret son the entire time. You get no unmasking, nothing, just him re-opening his eyes at the end. It sorta reminds me of the ending of Halloween but done poorly. The jester suit at the end was cool tho. It was at least better than the remake, which I watched first. The ending to that movie is even worse.
>>218667910maybe Maryam d'Abo in Xtro (picrel)but I think Monique Gabrielle as another anon pointed out is probably the right answer.
>>218675588Just realizing I haven't seen this. Confused it with Sorority House Massacre.
>>218675964I watched that one too. That movie just feels like a direct ripoff of Halloween 2 with the whole she's the sister of the killer shit. Super lazy. Out of the three, The House on Sorority Row is definitely the best. The ending just kinda sucks, and the jester suit is only used at the end which is a shame.
>>218676028It at least had one cool trick, which was teasing the mc being psychic, when really she was remembering the past (at least that's how I saw it). Thanks though I'll check it out

Good day, working classWhat are we watching this evening?
Scream 7 fucking sucks ass, man. Definitely the worst installment and it's not even close. Good opening sequence and some moments later but that's about it. Overall, it's fucking lame as fuck. The AI thing maybe looked good on paper but it just doesn't work. It's flat and uninspiring. Casting Anna Camp was brilliant tho. It silenced my suspicions because i've spent big part of the movie thinking this is that FBI chick from the previous one lolmckenna and neve looked nice but jasmine mogged them both. I mean, she was always pretty but she upped her game in this. Amazing glowup

first 13 minutes of scream 7 were actually kino
I bet the sequel isn't as good as this kino
For the 8th Scream they should do something crazy like the whole movie being one take (fake one take ofc) or something
>>218682450It should be an anthology isn't of them trying to explain that certain characters are billy's stepkids lovers sister whos uncle fucked pete
>>218682450That's actually a pretty good idea even if in practice people would hate it. Basically, meta that horror is still searching for gimmicks to attract audiences. The easier option is a reboot where they comment on reboots. I could write that.

>>218682450Jenna should return for Scream 8. And finally kill Chad, he was way too much plot armor for a side character.

>>218695892No one cares.
>>218685942>>218686794I agree that crocs are the best and scariest predator alive today and that they could really do with their own jaws. I think ultimately though, sharks are scarier in the public concious for two reasons:1) The insane pr that jaws did for shark fear2) Your average person is far more likely to encounter a shark than a crocThere are a shit ton more sharks than crocodillians in the world, both in terms of number of species and absolute numbers but also you can avoid crocs in a way you can't with sharks. All of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and East Asia has zero crocs. North America only has them in a few Southern US states. Even Australia only has them along the Northern coast. Compare that to sharks which inhabit basically every ocean and coast in the world.

Just finished. Lol, what a ride. I was struggling not to turn it off the whole first hour. I thought Kurosawa was trolling us, thinking "I'll just take a script for a regular movie and shoot it like it's mysterious and they'll call me a genius, lol", but it surprised me. It's definitely best to go in blind, but like most stuff I see, calling it horror is iffy again. For patient viewers, and maybe it would play best for people with bad social anxiety, lol. This is a big spoiler, but the top letterboxd review puts it well: "Every single person you've ever mildly offended or ignored on the internet are all plotting to kill you right now."
>>218699115I thought it was genius, the ending was like seeing a damn magic trick. And not in the autistic puzzle way writers are always trying to do. Does anyone remember a late 00s hostel-knockoff about college kids getting their organs harvested? Wasn't Turistas, Train, or Autopsy. I will say it was pretty similar to Turistas but with an even lower budget and possibly not in a south american setting.
I remember this movie on TNT or FX back in the day called Incubus and the Incubus was this bald dude strapped to a chair in a lab and he gets out
>>218706929Hard to say, that was virtually every movie of that time period.
>>218704343What an absolute package, jfc
HD release in a week (both the anime and live action)
Didn't have many hopes for Nanno Reset, but the second episode ending on them promoting their underwear was an unexpected low.
>>218706929There's Anarchy Parlor but it's not organs they were harvesting and it had a decent budget.
>>218695892Good lord, why? It sucked.
>>218704691I guess fame and a fixation on being loved/living a "meaningful" life, if we are looking at them as a whole.
>>218708150Comfy movie.
>>218703094Oh…so cumming into a dumpster is what she is compared to now after walling and makes her #winning.
>>218704373She was not hot af. She was caked up in movies too and all throughout her life and just post wall in her porn.
So it's apparently already out with great audio but the picture is a Telesync with a giant watermark on it. I might still watch it though because I have no standards...
I watched two boring horror movies last night: Manhattan Baby and Coda: Symphony of Evil. Either one would have been at least a little better with some gratuitous nudity.
>>218707959good to know. I think I watched the first episode of this and never finished it.
>>218709031Have some standards in your film quality anon cause clearly you already have none in actresses.
>>218709031I'm gonna wait it out.
hows that new faces of death?
>>218709727How is actresses hitting the wal?
What did you guys think of I Know What You Did Last Summer?
>>218709867decent lead up to a convoluted ending
>>218709800what
>>218709948>>218709867It was decent without leaving a bad aftertaste. Watching Scream 7 tonight and I am not really looking forward to it. I l know no matter how good or tight the movie is, black characters will make it shit to watch.
>>218710066i'm watching it right now, it's really fast, reveals the killer almost immediatelyi'm 40 minutes in and he's killed like 5 kids already
>>218710126Scream 7? Cool. > he's killed like 5 kids alreadyGood.
>>218710126Not to sound like a dick or racist but I watch movies on a television and I don’t enjoy seeing a black on a big screen infront of me especially if they are mad dei characters. Nasty.
>>218710239> Nasty
>>218710276Going to therapy won’t make me enjoy seeing Africans on a big screen
>>218710239Good thing Black people are going to be pissing on your grave.
