The first movie is of course still unmatched but I was surprised at how not completely awful this one was.

>>218665877I think the problem with a lot of these sorts of movies is that the comedy is very firmly rooted in the time period. Airplane for example is still great, but there are a lot of jokes that don't hold up or don't make sense to watchers who didn't grow up in that time. Like the bit where Robert Stack gets increasingly violent with the religious peddlers in the airport is fairly funny in a vacuum, but to people who flew in the 70s/80s and had to actually deal with those nutjobs harassing people, it's a cathartic riot.

its not same type of humour of OG, but for the most part it was still funny, even if joke didn't land they still managed to escalate it to something that gave me small giggle or make new one immediately after I eye rolled when Debin came up with fake name for the girl, but near ending when Bad guy just recited the whole name from memory withou a pause, that catched me off guard
