>LA is no longer place to do filming
>>
That's weird, every modern fantasy series seems to take place in LA.
>>
>>218668295

Every industry involving in creating speculative creative products has been hammered like this due to the interest rates jumping significantly in 22-23, because it's far more difficult to get financing to fund your project.

It's the same reason why 30% of office space in silicon valley is empty and 50% of video game devs are also out of work.

Because other states and countries are giving tax subsidies

>LA
Not just Los Angeles but america in general
everything is filmed either in canada or uk, australia or new zealand
It's too expensive to film in america. Hollywood is just about shooting movies in other countries
the new spiderman movie was filmed in UK even though the movie is set in NYC
>>
I hate how everything is filmed in Vancouver and Atlanta these days

Garbage cities
>>
>>218668295
what do they even do there anymore

i thought that place had high real estate values because that's where they kept most of the american film industry and maybe some tech industry. yet afaik both tech and film have moved out

so, what, it's just a bunch of boomer owned houses worth 5 million because it'd be inconvenient if their value was to drop?

Georgia and Texas in particular

The major studios still have active lots in L.A. filming might be down across the board, but that doesn't mean it's at zero. There's still broadcast slop for the airwaves.

Silicon Valley is not LA
California is not just LA

Is there a chance living in SoCal will be affordable in 20 years? My main gripe with California is the fact that it’s objectively the most physically beautiful state with almost everything i’d ever want but it’s insufferably expensive

I’d live there in a heartbeat if it weren’t for the people and cost of living

Don't worry, they can still shoot hellish dystopian media there (and even save on cgi!)
>>
>>218671385
not me, Oregon and Washington mog it, California way too dry to warrant living there

North California has the same PNW rainforest, it doesn't magically become a desert as soon as you cross the OR-CA border.

La is based

>>218669150
LA is a garbage city in its own right, so...

>Georgia
Not anymore. GA is a based state to shoot in though, including Atlanta
>>
>>218673840
That's nothing new. California hate is mainstream
>>
For how big LA is it really is quite forgotten and low momentum right now.

You hear about the Bay Area, Austin, NYC, Miami, Nashville, even Chicago sometimes, but it's like LA doesn't even exist.
