Bought the bluray. What am I in for? Is it really as good as people make it out to be?
>>218684301It lives up to the hype. You're not gonna watch sober are you?
>>218684301You mean to tell me you spent hard earned money on slop that you’ve never even seen before?
>>218684368Impulse buying, if you have money to burn it's hard to resist.
>>218684301You the same shill who has been spamming this shit for agesKill yourself>Is it really as good as people make it out to be?Yes, as in nobody has ever said this trash is any good
It never goes anywhere as Lynch was just making things up as he went along and never thought of some coherent conclusion
>>218684551David Chase did the exact same thing and his show is often heralded as the greatest of the medium.
>>218684344ofc, because i will be taking mental notes of the film and analyze the film making procedure>>218684368yes? i read the reviews and they're high so i bought it in order to then see it. this is how you obtain things, sweetie.
It's got it's great parts, and then it's got its lulls. What I'll say is that its charms work on you, and you'll be happy to wait through the less good parts. You'll just be happy to be watching the people of the town, even if you're not enjoying the scene on screen at the moment. And then The Return will feel very wrong and unsatisfying at first. It's not the same thing, but commit to watching it all and you'll come around on it. It's a different sort of thing but it's pretty good.
>>218684686Forget about analysis, let the experience carry you away. Open your senses and heart to the experience.
>>218684551
It should have stopped at the murder reveal.
>>218684686Usually you collect the dvd of something after you’ve seen it already, to bank at least quadruple of what a movie ticket costs on something you haven’t seen just because people have said it’s good is foolish. After all it could be shit (which it is)
95% of it is just timewaster filler. Le ironic soap opera, lol, don't got time for that.
>>218684835yeah hold on let me just buy a cinema ticket for twin peaks OH WAIT... I CANNOT
>>218684301watch the blue rose cut
>>218684938That’s why we have piracy and illegal streaming sites for the people who aren’t retarded
>>218685095it was literally cheaper to buy it than to download it and use the valuable space on my ssdremux is over 500GB>inb4 HDD>inb4 compressed slopno
>>218684753But the experience is shit. Its shit>>218684938You should return it
>>218684301First season is absolute kino and same goes for the first half or so of the second season. I got LYNCHED so can't comment too much on the third season. Movie is also pretty good.
>>218685348It is all shit. There is nothign good in it at all
In the series its made out to be he was possessed by demons while in the movie it was more his own decision. Why does it go on after the murder reveal? There is no point to it.
>>218685431>Why does it go on after the murder reveal? The third season was about Coop trying to restore his mind and fix his mistakes. I thought it was an interesting story.
>>218684301>Bought the bluray.I have this version. The box is cool but the actual disc packaging is kind of a pain in the dick.
>>218684708i just read that it's about mystery and finding out about that, it was big decising factor when i got it. big fan of alan wake 1 game, its book and the tv show, supposedly it is lending a lot from twin peaks.
>>218685807Same. It's at my mum's house though. Hope she hasn't thrown it out..
>>218685849There is no mystery in this shit>supposedly it is lending a lot from twin peaksIt isn't
>>218686325bro really seething this much over someone buying and planning to watch a tv show
>>218686325Lol Alan Wake is twin peaks the video game, just trying to avoid any obvious copyright infringements
The woodsman existed in the Alan Wake universe long before Season 3. >"ALAN WAKE?">"GOT A LIGHT?"Lynch was a fan
>>218686456Alan Wake is a Twin Peaks cover band.Shenmue is the real Twin Peaks video game.
Deadly Premonition is the Twin Peaks video game
>>218687755There is a bunch of twin peaks inspired video games, ie Mizzurna Falls
>>218684301Watching it with my brother, its pretty funny seeing his reaction to everything for the first time.> End of season 1> "What kind of cliffhanger ending is that? Damn"> Mfw we're almost up to the last episode of season 2 now Can't wait to see how he deals with that last scene.
The "genius" of Lynch was to keep everything open ended and vague open to interpretation, thats why fanboys still make up theories about it to this day. O can guarantee you Lynch was just making up things as he went along.
>>218687909You need to make sure to tell us how he reacts anon.
>>218684301it's as good as cherry pie is
>>218685849>>218686456Alan Wake 1 is if Stephen King rewrote the story of Twin Peaks. Take that as you will. Haven't played 2 yet desu.Deadly Premonition is closer to Twin Peaks and how it actually is, although there are still obvious issues with the comparison.
>>218684551That really only became an issue when the network forced the killer to be revealed at the start of season 2 and doubled the length of that same season. Lynch also bailed out sometime in the middle and left Frost at the helm, so it became aimless.>>218689828Truly good art is the kind that leaves so much room for interpretation. >>218689990>Deadly PremonitionBased. Some of its technical flaws and odd choices are what make it even better, since the whole thing was made by Japs and is like if you tried to run Twin Peaks through a pretty bad translator.
>>218684987comaland cut blows that out of the water
>>218684768I still have no idea what that's supposed to mean
>>218692202blue rose has been around a lot longer so more anons know about it but, yeah, comaland is on another level
>>218684686it is the modern Faust
>>218684301Kino of the highest order. Best enjoyed on a small dose of THC.
I remember Lynch talking about as a kid being in their perfect 1950s backyard and everything was perfect and seeing an apple on the ground and turning it over and it was rotten with worms in it. And how that 'everything has a dark side' type thing influenced him. Anyways I think that's what Twin Peaks was, a generic 80s sitcom, but with this weird, Lynchian, surreal intrusion into it. I don't know that any of it meant anything or ever had a plan with it. Probably just made it up on the fly.
>>218684551being so in tune with life, Jung, and synchronicity meant he didn't have to.he managed to show the reality of Laura while being celebrated. he even showed a single mom pushing her kid in front of a car to garner infinite sympathylots of depth to discover in this series.
>>218687890No, there isn't, stop telling these lies
>>218693103He also said when he was a kid he was a crying naked blood covered women coming out of the woods and how it was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. What a creep
>>218684835is there an 'S' in your MBTI score result?
>>218684789the first episode?
>>218684987>>218692202there are different cuts?? I need to rewatch. it was interesting at the time but it's really grown on me
>>218693103there's deep meaning though. and he totally changed the game. you make it sound like Scary Movie 4do you like the Meta Intent videos that used to get posted here? he doesn't cover lynch directly I don't think but does explain a lot of similar themes in other similar works
>>218693185wut. was there more context?I remember he was dissecting animals in his basement and showed his dad who turned to him with concern and suggested that he not have children... :(
>>218684301No, it isn't.
>>218694003Pretty sure both of those are just fan edits of Fire Walk With Me but with the inclusion of scenes that were left out/cut short that made up 'The Missing Pieces' Basically just cobbling them both together in slightly different ways to make one mega long movie.
>>218685613and also about how you can't. all the "laura palmers" out there living boring lives don't want to revisit the horror she endured. even if it was the cause of the horror she just inflicted
>>218694246cool
>>218684301You'll be able to tell before the opening credits are over if you're going to be into it. It's the best TV show ever made by a big margin, and personally I think it's the greatest artistic achievement of mankind. Better than Wagner, LOTR, Proust, whatever. Twin Peaks is the Pinnacle.
