Vince Gilligan says he's not sure if season 2 is even coming, and admits he has no idea what to do with certain plot points from season 1.
>>
>>218685088
slop show for slop eating sloptards. bitch literally admits he has no idea what his own story is about, yet the slop consumers will tell you you're not smart enough to get it
>>
>>218685118
the only guy I know who watches this show is also the biggest MCU fan I know lol
>>
/tv/ will never psychologically recover from Pluribus
>>
streaming killed tv

now they can take however long they want in between seasons instead of cranking them out yearly
>>
>>218685088
this show fucking sucks
>>
>>218685088

What exactly takes forever? There is like 3 characters in the whole show. There only 8 episodes. There are no real giant special effects scene or sets that need rendered like you'd see in a period piece or something like a war or space themed show.
>>
>Vince Gilligan just making shit up as he goes along
Always been the case

Rhea will be 60 by the time they get to filming season 2

i really expected S1 to go somewhere but the finale was SUCH a nothingburger. i'm upset i recommended it to people mid-season.
>>
It was kino. I am glad it filtered you plebs.

>>218685088
I liked season 1 a lot more than people here, but it is easier to set things up than tie them up. I am not convinced they will stick the landing.
>>
>>218685257
Fuck Stranger Things for normalizing 8 episodes every 3 years.

Vince wrote himself into a corner. There's no way to make "midwit pop-lit author vs. a planetary hivemind" work as anything other than a fucking farce. To even carry Carol this far, he's had to stack a shitload of weaknesses and limitations onto the Ploobs (which feel like a borderline retcon for how they make their initial takeover of the planet impossible) but the result of that is that there's basically no tension because the Ploobs can't do anything to her. Or at least, not until they make the Carol-specific virus, which Vince can hold off on for as long as he wants.
>>
>hey, guise, fast-moving shops are slop!

well, at least he's rich
>>
>>218685257
This is part of the reason I don't watch a streaming show until it has at least 2 seasons because the wait times are ridiculous and it's usually not even worth it.
>>
I find it really implausible that the hivemind is meant to have ALL the skills and knowledge of billions of people when they've got no social intelligence, no charisma, and no intuition.
>expecting Carol to actually buy "We think your work is as good as Shakespeare"
>"Zosia" actually gives away that they have Carol's eggs and are working on a virus like a level boss conveniently telling you their weakness

Damn in the 90s shows like the X files never had to pump out 20 hours of television a year like that
>>
What a colossal fucking sisppointment this has turned out to be
I'm not even a big gilligan fan, but I did have high hopes it would be at least decent
>>
It should have been a one shot series anyway so I see this as an absolute win.
>>
>>218685088
Zero cultural impact. A slop show about some dyke that an aging pseudo whos high on his own farts made to try and plap the actress. Essentially a degenerate freak desperate for a hole using his only strategy to get it. These onions dorks usually troon out, he probably will soon.
>>
>>218686846
Same, I loved BrBa and BCS but I have no idea what his thought process was with Pluribus
>So I have this one interesting spooky idea, and we can very slowly sprinkle that onto nine hours of Rhea aimlessly wandering around and behaving unpleasantly. We'll introduce an actually likeable character at the very end, and finish the season without resolving anything. Actually, let's make it a cliffhanger as well.
>Second season? Uhhhhhh IDK

I did like the first eight episodes as commentary on conforming to obtain love vs being your unique self and remaining alone.

The issue is that they either win through some scientific McGuffin, some Gilligan tier plan tomfoolery, or some BS cop out like 'Carol's art inspires people to break out of the hive'. Or I guess they just lose. There is no real satisfying way to resolve this.

Here's my crackpot theory for how this is going to end.
The alien civilization that sent the hivemind signal is revealed to be a "normal" conquering empire that deliberately used the signal/virus to turn humans compliant, complacent, incapable of self-defense, and retarded. Carol will somehow team up with the Ploobs to help them fight back against the alien fascists to stop them from eating all the Ploobs like cows or draining Earth's oceans or something.
No, I'm not expecting it to be good.

How come people back in the day could make new seasons every year(ergo, the fucking name, SEASON) AND all of tham had like 20 episodes if not more, but nowadays every shitty show releases 8-10 episodes every 2-3 years, if not more, since Netflix became a thing?
Why are those faggots so lazy now?

It's kinda a blessing; normie zoom zooms and alphas in my anecdotal experience are watching shows like ER, The X files and Dawson's creek. Not exactly high art but still waaaaay better than streaming crap like stranger things
The children still crave kino

my kids like to watch shit that's not on streaming services but for free elsewhere, like the weekenders (internet archive) or spongebob's earlier seasons (youtube)
>>
>"it takes forever making this thing"
Meanwhile Amazon only makes us wait a year inbetween seasons for Invincible, Fallout, etc. The way it's meant to be. Fallout in particular has to build all these elaborate sets, costumes, cgi, etc and is still faster than Pluribus. Also, unlike Pluribus, the actors are bigger stars who have other projects going on and they still find time to film faster

The approach in Pluribus is a distilled Vince style. We need to have long montage sequences of people doing a task while the audience goes "omg what is going oooon" with a simple conclusion-point at the end of the sequence like it's supposed to be poignant or something. This is alright when done with restraint and for emphasis but it has become bravovince's style to do it ALL the time.

>long sequence of pudding getting made in a pudding factory before the hive mind took over
>everyone is moving like they're actually a part of the hive mind, but they're not! it's just a regular pudding factory
>we see the pudding getting made through 85 different amazingly framed shots
>the pudding is finally packaged
>smash cut to Carol opening her fridge and looking at a pudding
>the pudding reminds her of her dead lesbo ex she had zero chemistry with
>the phone rings
>"Carol would you like a pudding"
>"NO! leave me alone"
>the doorbell rings
>Carol slowly walks to the front door
>she opens the door
>there is a pudding on the doorstep
>she looks at the pudding
>she is deciding whether she wants to toss the pudding
>she is tossing the pudding
>the tossing of the pudding is meaningful to her, and us, the audience
>she regrets tossing the pudding
>she dials zero
>"bring me another pudding"
>another long montage sequence of the pudding getting prepared, similar to the first one, but now we know the hive mind is making it specifically for Carol, because the hive mind does not need puddings anymore
>the montage sequence is contrasted with the first montage sequence of the pudding being made by real people
>smash cut to Carol opening the door again
>the pudding is on the doorstep
>she tosses it again
>she won, she is better than the hive mind

etc....

Early season xfiles cost like $2mil per episode in early 90s money. And that was back when there was way way more institutional knowledge available in the industry and a whole lot less regulation in place. You can't really compare pre early 2000s era TV to the current era.
>>
>>218685088
Vince is that guy who wins the lottery and then goes around telling people how he got rich by being a financial genius or something
>>
>>218692167
>there was way way more institutional knowledge
I don't understand how this is possible.
Even if current productions can't afford the costs of cable shows in the 90s, there should be technologies that can either give us low quality speed or, in cases where shows do take multi year gaps, at least high quality production for tens of episodes.
I fundamentally don't understand how shows have gotten worse in terms of quality, quantity, and efficiency. A dip in any one of those qualities should improve the others
>>
I loved BCS, I love Rhea, I've made quite a few webms with her ponytail and many general BCS webums too.
I think Pluribus was bad. Vince had a pitch, an idea, but it was enough for 2-3 episodes, then he got nothing.
I'm not gonna be sad if season 2 never comes.

Given that he literally concocted this show as an excuse to spend more time with Rhea, this isn’t surprising

this reminds me when i was in new york a few months ago we were waiting for the subway and this guy was trying to chat up his date and he was talking about pluribus. he goes 'its kinda controversial or whatever, losers online are mad that the main character is a lesbian... i dont even get why, i mean gay women exist right? so weird, right?' trying some sjw rizz
