Is this movie misunderstood, so bad its good or just bad?
>>218692248I always liked it. I used to try to talk about it sometimes years ago before it got rediscovered or whatever and nobody ever knew what I was talking about. Not here, irl. They always thought I was describing People Under The Stairs
It's definitely one of a kind and worth watching. There were several moments where my jaw literally dropped and remained dropped for several minutes, which I have never experienced prior to this movie. And the ending sent a genuine shiver up my spine. Just go into it blind.
It looks like a nightmare movie, like it follows nightmare logic, where once second you're running away and escaping and the next you turn the corner and he's right there in front of you. It just looks like a fever dream of a bad time
>>218692720It’s actually pretty funny
One of those movie where you end up asking several questions. Who the fuck thought this up? How did this even get made? What the fuck were they smoking when they made it? Did they genuinely think people would like this? I wouldn't call it a bad movie because it succeeds in making you go wtf. If that was the goal they succeeded
>>218692806Dan Aykroyd made it just to fuck up Chevy Chase's career even worse than it already was.
>>218692248It's just bad, only worth seeing if you must know just how bad it is.
>>218692387People Under the Stairs is kino. Never seen Nothing But Trouble.
>>218692248>so bad its goodso bad it's unwatchable
I'd say it's the perfect horror movie for kids. I saw it around 10 and it scared the shit out of me (especially Mr Bonestripper. I mean it's fucking called Mr. Bonestripper, what the hell.) show it to a non-stupid kid and they'll probably never forget it
>>218692248It's so good it's bad
>>218692248Dan Akroyd is a weird guy
>>218692248Accounting for inflation the budget for this was over 100 million
>>218694583Let me tell you about my vodka, it’s a crystal clear, glacial-filtered spirit of absolute purity and smoothness.Housed in that iconic skull bottle, it sparks conversations about existence as much as it elevates your drink.Take a sip, and don’t be surprised if things get a little… otherworldly
Smells like Sao Paulo itt.
>>218694652spooky
Tupac is also in this for some reason
>>218694845This nigga zesty
>>218692248makes me wanna have a hot dog
>>218694845>Hire the Digital Undergound to perform in your movie.>Tupac happened to be part of the bandIts not that hard to figure out why he was in the movie
>>218692874Pretty based
>>218694845Im convinced Diddy and him fucked.
>>218692248I really want to see the rumoured R-rated version of this movie. Reportedly, the movie was shot in all its blody, dark comedy glory but then cut to a tamer version because of the studio mandate.
>>218692248Even watching the trailer just now was exhausting.
>>218693766When I was three years old, I heard a radio commercial for The People Under the Stairs. The title alone terrified me. For the next ten years, I would run up and down the stairs, never lingering on a stair for fear a hand might pop out and grab me by the ankle.
>>218692248Is that the guy from Under the Silver Lake
>>218692387>>218692248I think RLM put it back into the spotlight. I actually bought the Blu-ray a few years ago because I love Aykroyd, and later they did the review but I never watched it because they spoil stuff. Watched it a few months ago. Its a bizarre film. RLM what on Chevy but I thought he we really good in it. And the ending is kinda unique. Its a shame everyone shat on the film and Aykroyd never made another one.
>>218695903No, it's just a Jewish phenotype.
This and Freaked 1993 make an excellent early 90s cocaine insanity double feature
>>218696563Freaked feels like it was made by a normal guy who likes weird stuff. NBT feels like it was made by a weird guy who's confused about what normal people are supposed to like and is fucking up appealing to them radically.
>>218692248I used to watch it all the time as a kid and never knew it was considered bad.>>218692720It would freak me out for this reason where everyone is just acting so irrationally and they were trapped in this sort of bizarre nightmare world, but I would still have fun watching it.
>>218696618Akroyd is extremely autistic so that's not a surprise. It's a shame he didn't make more stuff, he's well known to be a bit of a schizo.
>>218695310I wouldn’t be surprised, Diddy may have played a part in his murder.
>>218692248One of those movies they played on I think HBO or Cinemax on repeat like 6 times a day with Beastmaster so I watched it as a kid alot. I think I remember it being funny.
>>218696675>It would freak me out for this reason where everyone is just acting so irrationally and they were trapped in this sort of bizarre nightmare worldIf you want a movie that maxes out that concept, Beau is Afraid is for you.
>>218696939Diddy Ushed Just In Bussy while only drinking the finest breast milks
>>218692248Was the dick nose ever explained?
>>218695555Yuuuup.
>>218692874The actual reasoning for this is much more simple. He's autistic and said yes to every single delusion people suggested.
Akroyd is one of actors only boomers find funny
>>218697287>t. Ashy Larry
>>218697277Fucking A. The first act of Beau is Afraid might be the finest dark comedy ever put to film.
>>218697540What is more misunderstood NBT and the dick nose or BiA and the dick monster?
>>218697483the dude who played him in Saturday Night nailed the impression of Danny
>>218697483He's more entertaining when he's just sitting down and talking about shit. His documentary on UFOs and conspiracies is absolute kino.
I like the movie, the set design and attention to detail must have taken 1,000s of hours. Watched that shit all the time growing up. Even then I noticed the judges nose was a dickhead. It’s pretty pronounced in some shots but the internet is gay and yeah
>>218697592>Saturday NightA lot of the actors cast as the SNL cast were really good. Too bad the movie is just so fucking bad
>>218697703I liked it a lot.
>>218697592He really did.
It's not funny and it's not scary. It's retarded. Only good things are Demi Moore is hot in it and the sets are pretty intriguing.
>>218694884He was definitely gay
>>218692248It's one of those movies that isn't funny when you watch it but it is when you look back on it. I think more autistic people should be given blank checks to make what ever they want
The only funny part was at the end when its revealed that the cops know about the judge and prank Chevy and Demi Moore.
>>218699437If you can look at Bobo and L'il Debbull without laughing, you are the one one some emotional disorder spectrum(s).
>>218699501>prankYeah, the complete corruption of the legal system is totally just a prank.
>>218699529I knew some dumb nigger was going to reply with this.
>>218692248It's definitely overhated
>>218699548So you knew it was a retarded inaccurate thing to say, but you said it anyway to try to bait someone who you could use to justify your unnecessary use of the nword?
>>218695021They were awesomehttps://youtu.be/CmFDyZ3ytg8?si=KFPzsAyhdIAXQyjY
>>218699635
>>218699680Is that the hand you sit on and jiggle when you fail to bait people and can't justify using the nword?
>>218697420Probably them trying to see what they could get away with. Supposedly it had a hard R rating before they were told to cut down on crazy shit to get it to PG-13
>>218699725Hey nigger, watch this:NIIIIIIGGGGGGEEEEEEERRRRRR
>>218699772Are you saying that as a fat lazy retard yourself, you just sit on an nword and make them jiggle instead?
this nigga sittin on niggas, damn
>>218692248It's bad and self-indulgent on Dan Akroyd's part. It sucks that with the limited amount of John Candy movies, this is one of them. Although never let it be said that 2Pac never shared a scene with John Candy in drag.
>>218699895John Candy only signed up to be in the movie because he passed on Ghostbusters and trusted Dan knew what he was doing in terms of screen writing. Not knowing that Dan should never have full control over a movie.
>>218699912That is too bad, he would have made the perfect slimer.
>>218699651Agreed. I remembered this movie from my childhood and remembered the Humpty Dance guy as well so whenever my friends would talk about Tupac I’d ALWAYS bring up the Digital Underground. Who imo’s catalogue blows Tupac’s solo work away anyway, but I think he’s an overrated rapper.
>>218699912I assume John would have had Rick Moranis' role?
>>218697420They just thought it was funny.
>>218700989Yes
>>218692248i watched this once in a while when i was a kid. not often. it's unreal how hot Demi is in this. the exposed neck, collar bones, etc. pearl necklace throws her sexxo into overdrive. always does for me. catnip for the cock.
>>218692248It's not bad, it's disturbing... in a way some movies can't manage despite trying
>>218692248>TOXEEKS!Taylor Negron's best role
>>218702054Young Demi was the bee's knees
>>218697420>Was the dick nose ever explained? It's a real phenomenon. Akroyd is cleverly hinting heavily at something.
its a good and interesting movie but I wish we could've gotten the Aykroyd cut
>>218702054>it's unreal how hot Demi is in thisYeah at the bare minimum the film has value for documenting her at the maximum peak of her sexiness
