He openly competed with Kylo for power in the First Order and in his speech when they fired their big dumb weapon the actor really pulled off the fanatical dictator vibes. Hux really came across as a villain and a threat. The second movie assassinated the character by making him a doofus, and the third movie drenched his corpse in piss. One of the actually good things they managed to make and they immediately fuck it up. Goddamn I hate the sequels.
