This isn't even just a Spider-Man problem. James Gunn was supposed to usher in a new era of superhero movies. But his movies look just as muddled and washed out as Snyder's. They arguably look worse because of a lack of contrast.

It's a blue sky that's been color graded to look gray. His suit is actually colorful. Why not make it duller or make the blue of the suit black? Why is the suit so comic accurate to begin with? Why is the trailer filled with goofy and comical lines? If the goal was to go for grimdark, there are better ways to do it and you can make the film look better. And again, this is a trend across many movies. Not just Spider-Man
