Did he ever lack street smarts like most make him out to be when he clearly was VERY good at reading people and manipulating them and situations? He basically beat Gus within a year of being a criminal.
>>218701977He makes the mistake of thinking that street criminals are rational and pragmatic like he is. When in reality they're violent retards who live on an emotional hair trigger like Tuco.
>>218701977Really he just got lucky most of the time.
>>218702041nigga was unbelievably ruthless. watching jane die, forcing jesse to kill gale, poisoning the kid, whacking mike's guys in prison. he was a machine
>>218701998Except he didn't and read Tuco like a book 6 episodes in?
>>218702097Aclchually walt was the one who wanted to keep doing business with him
>>218701998This guy knows. The streets are filled with envious simpletons who are dullards and mean spirited. Trying to score weed as a kid was a fucking ordeal.
>>218702534obviously. but doesn't mean that Walt lacked street smart.
>>218701977He definitely does in the sense that he needs Jesse to make all sorts of introductions for him throughout the show. He's not completely bankrupt of social/emotional intelligence but there's definitely a knowledge gap especially in the earlier seasons.
>>218704280>he needs Jesse to make all sorts of introductions for him throughout the showhow else could a 50-year-old science teacher have done to get into the game, i wonder? Everybody needs connection from...anybody else. No matter if you grew up in that environment or not. Gus needed connection from Mike, for instance. He picked up the drug trade VERY fast and was able to see the moves on the table clearly, going toe-to-toe with Gus who had been in the game for 30 years. Jesse for YEARS was a nobody before Walt came along.Walt lacking street smart is just a bad generalization IMO.
>Mr. White... he's the devil. You know, he is- he is smarter than you, he is luckier than you. Whatever- Whatever you think is supposed to happen- I'm telling you, the exact reverse opposite of that is gonna happen, okay?
