I bought this sony 4k player in 2019 for $160. Today this same player goes for over $300, and most new UHD players are over $200 MINIMUM! What the fuck happened??
>>218702650Watching classic films in 4K UHD is really just a form of nostalgia for white America.
>>218702924movies shot on 35mm look fine on 4K
>>218702650Memory and chip prices spiked. The player needs a cache.
>>218702650>>218703013FUCKI just found this thread and I also need a new UHD player for both my 4K HDTV and a USB one for my PCany brands or suggestions???
>>218703378you are better off just investing in a NAS or some storage space to store bluray remux files. You can pirate and stream them to your tv using plex or jellyfin.
>>218703400yeah but muh soul
>>218703378purchase a PS5 Pro, it has a 4k Blu-ray player built in
>>218703410go collect funky pops to clutter your space with then you fag
>>218702650yeah i just bought a ps5 to uses as a blu ray player even though i have a nice gaming pc.
>>218703378>and a USB one for my PCUnless things have changed since I last checked, you can't natively watch UHD discs on PC. There was a weird thing where it was supported on a specific range of Intel CPUs, so even if you wanted that, you'd be stuck with a 8+ year old CPU. There's some internal Blu-ray drives where you can flash the firmware to be able to read UHD if you wanted to copy/rip them, ASUS BW-16D1HT is one that supports it. If you don't care about ripping UHD, you might be able to find a cheaper drive if you still want normal Blu-ray playback capabilities.
