I'm fairly sure it's easier than ever to get rich. Like I grew up with a single mother on welfare and became a millionaire at 25, obviously this is not normal/typical but it's not exceptionally rare like it was in the past if you're top 5% or higher intelligence and work hard as fuck.

Especially if you're born in shartmerica where just acing school can get you rich. Literally just go to med school, specialise in a lucrative specialty and you're on $500k+.

He went with high-end clients, like Sherlock Holmes. They may not get a lot of cases numerically, but when a king or prince pays you to solve a case, it's usually enough to pay your expenses for a year
