>dad used to watch Lawrence of Arabia once a week
>dad retired a decade ago and now watches Lawrence of Arabia almost every single day
>still watching the same DVD copy he got 20 years ago
>got a Blu-Ray player a couple years ago and never had any desire to get Lawrence of Arabia on Blu-Ray
At this point I've decided to just respect his Lawrence of Arabia autism

THERE IS ONLY THE DESERT FOR YOU
>>
You have a based father. Something about physical media that gets lost with streaming, or even digital files, is the ownership of the work. The DVD with the particular crease in the booklet, the vinyl record that skips over that one certain part, that sort of stuff gives the artwork a deeper personal relationship with the owner. That DVD isn't just a copy of "Lawrence of Arabia", it's HIS copy of "Lawrence of Arabia".
>>
At a certain point you stop giving a shit about fidelity and technology etc.
You find comfort in good storytelling, which you can enjoy no matter if it's in SD or HD or UHD.

Your dad is cool.
>>
He watches it just for the rape scene
>>
It's a great film but it's not "rewatch every single day" great.
>>
>keeps watching a movie without a single female character in it
Why is your dad an incel????
>>
>>218864284
>not "rewatch every single day" great.
What movie is that great?
>>
>>218864409
The Dark Knight Rises
>>
>>218864409
Mary Poppins
>>
>>218864015
Dad's know that double dipping is stupid. Dad's are based in that regard.
Why buy ANOTHER copy of a movie you already own. Why spend money you don't have to.
Their wives already waste their money.
>>
>>218864490
>>
>>218864532
>Mary Poppins
Respectable
>>
Even as a retiree who has the time to watch the same 4 hour movie every single day?
You should buy an easel & paint set or a guitar or something for your old man. Encourage him to keep the other parts of his brain active.
>>
>>218864409
So I Married an Axe Murderer
>>
>>218864490
God damn that movie is retarded.
>>
>>218864015
You dad sounds based, it's a great film
>>
>>218865046
for you
>>
>>218864284
It is absolutely 'rewatch every single day' great, especially if you're retired. It has everything, and it's excellent if sitting down to watch or if on as background noise. BEN HURR is similar kino.
>>
>>218864534
>Dad's are based in that regard.
My uncle refused to buy a new car and was driving my aunt and cousins around in a 20 year old Chevy Blazer. It wasn't like it was in good condition either. It was rusty, loud, shook on the highways, the interior was torn up, and it got all sorts of stares from people. One day the transmission broke. My aunt and cousins were thrilled they were going to finally get a new car because they were embarrassed to be seen in it and hated riding in it. Instead, he spent thousands of dollars getting the transmission fixed and got 5 more years out of that Blazer.

When it finally got too rusted out to drive any longer he paid cash for a new GMC Yukon XL.
>>

Highway shakes ain't shit.

During my midnight procrastination in highschool/homeschool I would play fight club and replay it back to back. The soundtrack is great background music and the dialogue is quotable. Though, it's the closest I've gone to replaying something.

Fight Club is the ultimate high school movie because you're old enough to appreciate the grim aspects but still young enough to think it's deep and meaningful

I'm not trying to sound racist, but I do not understand why they chose this image for the cover.
>>
>>218864015
do you think there were autistic guys back in medieval times who would go and watch the same shakespeare play every day
>>
>>218864409
i can watch the matrix everyday for 1 week
>>
>>218864409
No movie is 'watch once a day great'. Lawrence is, in my opinion, the best movie of all time, but I have only seen it twice. Honestly I rarely rewatch films at all these days, there's so much great stuff out there that it feels wasteful just to watch the same things on repeat. Sort of like going on holiday to the same place again and again.
>>
is it a white savior movie
>>
>>218864015
Your dad is based and has really good taste. Did he liked The Bridge on the River Kwai, Ryan's Daughter, and A Passage to India? They are great too
>>
>>218864409
I watched Half Baked for a few weeks after moving into a new home. It was like comfort.
>>
>>218864015
>never had any desire to get Lawrence of Arabia on Blu-Ray
How about you gift it to him then you cunt? Come Christmas he will receive Flubber on BluRay, remastered and in smartphone vertical format as the filmmakers intended.

>>218868875
>Lawrence is, in my opinion, the best movie of all time, but I have only seen it twice.
Perhaps you are stupid?
>>
>>218864015
Get that old head nigga a 4k Projector, a 120" Silver Ticket screen, a Panasonic UB420 and a copy of Lawrence of Kinobia in UHD.
>>
>>218864015
I watched this 3 or 4 times, still have no idea what the plot is. Old movies suck.
>>
>>218864409
problem child 2
>>
>>218868875
>Honestly I rarely rewatch films at all these days
And that's not our fucking problem, secondary. I could watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or Back to the Future trilogy everyday on my projector if I had the time.
>>
>>218864015
You can't deny a man's ascended state who in old age embraced his lifelong childhood autism. Under 10 and above 50 you are cleared to be obsessed about autistic interest like trains, tanks etc
>>
>>218871943
He doesn't even have any desire to watch it on Blu-Ray, why would he want a whole fancy 4k setup to watch it?

You people are legitimately not human. The gnostics were right. Most people are flesh automatons.
>>
>>218874099
Just buy it as a gift, you retard. Popping in the disc is the same thing, now it will look even better. Also get him a soundbar.
>>
>>218876479
Bro, by checking your IP I see you scrolling through the same fucking 4chan and Twitter threads EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY. The time YOU spend doing that shit is the time I spend watching kinocinema.

Are you retarded? We've already established that his dad doesn't give a flying fuck about over-priced technological gimmicks, and your suggestion is to go out and spend 10 grand to watch a movie he already owns.

>4k Projector, a 120" Silver Ticket screen, a Panasonic UB420 and a copy of Lawrence of Kinobia in UHD.
For most people a projector is a bad purchase unless they're home theater obsessives or have one of the few niche uses for one.
>>
>>218864015
I watch LoA once per year. I'm always sad when I see Peter O'Toole riding the motorbike through the quaint village at the start of the film. England will never look like that again. I hope every British politician dies in agony.

I fell obsessively in love with a girl this past summer and we both coincidentally watched this movie the day before our first date. It was a major reoccurring point of discussion between us and she'd joke about how I looked Circassian and might get rated by Turks. In the end she cheated on me with multiple guys but wouldn't tell me who with. I suspect a couple of my friends
