easy mode it is
The captain of the last Miranda-class gets recruited by temporal agents to fix the kurtzman timeline, the ship is gutted and retrofitted with enough firepower and shields to make the Defiant take a step back, including obliviating agonizer pulse phasers. They follow the trail of STD people back starting from Academy, annihilating that ugly eyesore of a ship into a thousand pieces. Finally, after spending the entire episode systematically wiping out every Kurtzman ship save the Picard one, because the Confederation seems like it could be turned into a cool second mirror universe, maybe a mirror of the mirror or something. Anyways, they follow the trail back to the first time Michael Burnham has the helical drive spun up, orders the transporter to activate, and beams a bunch of self-sealing stem bolts off the ship, causing the saucer to shatter apart, before finally blasting her through her heart, causing a warp core detonation and eradicating Kurtzman trek forever out of any timeline. They send the... ball AI thing to the confederation reality or whatever, who cares.
Then the captain makes out with his Caitian lover.
After that season 2 e1-2 two parter, the series finally begins with their second mission from temporal ops.

>Hard mode: no time travel
Easy mode, because I've never been too fond of time-travel stories in anything outside of where it is the central focus of the narrative. Used sparingly sure, I'll concede that much, but when the narrative starts to treat it as a critical factor, like in ENT with the Temporal Cold War or DIS with both the Mirror Universe shit and the Red Angel or in Picard season 2 where they can beat us about the head with pointless non-sequiturs like
>ICE bad
>Pollution bad
>make Guinian cry
It becomes a fucking chore, and raises more questions than it'll ever hope to answer. But I digress

Honestly, I'd like to see the Voyager concept done well, as I feel out of all the Trek shows, it had the most potential. As controversial as it is to probably say here, I think that it was Stargate Universe of all shows that actually did it justice, since it did show a crew stranded far from home having to adapt to a new environment in order to both survive and find a way home.

I'd want to see Voyager but it actually takes them 80 years to get home. Use cryosleep to separate seasons.
You could use a Lost Era starship so that by the time it arrives home it's right around the "present"

STAR TREK YEAR 1- (filmed in the style of TOS s1 with accurate Enterprise recreated)
EPISODES-
1- "Falseship Enterprise" Kirk takes command of the Enterprise after it is refit back to its proper look. The Enterprise comes upon an exact duplicate of itself, it turns out to be a giant space-dwelling being who mimics starships, and think they are the Enterprise. The two Enterprises fight and Kirk and crew fight duplicates of themself inside the belly of the beast, and realize too late that they are being swallowed. Only Kirk can convince the big creature that it is not a starship and never will be. It returns to its natural form and the real Enterprise begins its voyage. "There's only one Starship Enterprise" Kirk says.

2- "Turnabout Detrooner"- Sulu begins a relationship with Pike's old ops officer Jenna Mitchell, but is shocked to learn she is not an Asian woman but a WHITE MAN who trooned out and changed race. Offended, Uhura takes a leave of absence. Kirk investigates the situation by pretending to romance Mitchell, there he learns that "she" is actually his old academy best friend Gary Mitchell! horrified, Sulu chases Mitchell through the Enterprise with a sword. Kirk reminds Mitchell of their past and we get flashbacks of Kirk at the academy with Mitchell and their adventures, and tells Gary to come to his senses and he is a white man, and tells him only GOD can choose a person's race or sex. With Kirk's friendship and a little help from Spock's logic, Gary turns back to his old self, and Kirk begins the Enterprise's mission out of the galaxy.
>>
>>218880151
3- "The Assassin" - We pick up after WNMHGB, Kirk is sad about Mitchell's death and has to pick Spock as his first officer. The Enterprise returns to the galaxy where Kirk discovers his father has been murdered! He investigates and learns an ancient assassin is targeting his family. He and Spock investigate and learn that Kirk is being targeted because of his distant ancestor Charlie, who inspired him to be the man he is today. The assassin will stop at nothing to wipe out the Kirk bloodline. The assassin kills and replaces Yeoman Smith and begins a relationship with Captain Kirk with the intent to poison him, but when Kirk is blinded by love in his grief, Mr. Spock's logic saves him and exposes the assassin. Spock performs a Vulcan ritual to manifest Charlie's mind in Kirk's, showing that his legacy lives on in Kirk, he defeats the assassin but then suspects Spock of being Satan and fights him, until eventually his spirit passes on peacefully into the afterlife. Kirk selects Spock as his new XO

4- "Just an Old Country Doctor" - When Dr. Piper is killed in action on a western theme planet by the savage natives, Kirk hires his old friend Dr. McCoy to join the Enterprise. But McCoy's un-PC remarks make him blacklisted in Starfleet, so Kirk decides to take the Enterprise out of Starfleet and join UESPA, which has less woke policies. Starfleet hunts down the Enterprise but Kirk eventually exposes a conspiracy within Starfleet to push an agenda, starting with the first captain of the Enterprise Robert April, who has been replaced by an impostor. Kirk restores the real April but decides to stick with UESPA until Starfleet can fully go back to how it was before. Meanwhile, Spock and McCoy start their iconic feud while McCoy succeeds where Piper failed on the western planet from the beginning
>>
>>218880161
5- "Utopia Lost"- The Enterprise lands on a planet that is identical to 1950s Earth on the surface, but more like a woke dystopia underground. The underground people want to take over the surface, the crew are in a prime directive dilemma before Kirk lays down the law.

6- "Benefit of the Doubt" A new alien has joined the Enterprise crew, disgusting and revolting to most of the crew but top brass insists that it is allowed to serve on the Enterprise, despite being totally unqualified, because that race had just joined the Federation, and they need to match a quota. However, the non-humanoid alien is from a planet with no technology and does not understand Starship life, causing chaos on the ship! Kirk tells the creature that today it has proven it is not qualified for Starship life. Being in the space service means being the best man for the job, and the creature is not. Mr. Spock questions Kirk's logic, and McCoy is caught between, but eventually Kirk proves to be right .

>as I feel out of all the Trek shows, it had the most potential
For me, I'm disappointed that that the concept of Andromeda Trek was wasted on Discovery's later seasons. I think the idea of a Star Trek captain getting thawed out in a future where things have strayed from the Federation's ideals and they try to bring back the Federation and Starfleet is strong. I would have preferred we got it instead of Enterprise.

>>
>>218879085
I would structure just the pilot around time travel and the Mycelial network.
The end result would be the network's destruction, from all of history, as a big middle finger to Kurtzman. Sort of like destroying the time anomaly in All Good Things.
The rest of the show would just take place a few years after Voyager following a new crew and the Romulans scheming to fill the power vacuum after the Dominion war, with an open ended future, effectively erasing all of Nu-Trek.
>>
>>218880473
So what you guys, just dicuss 30yo shows and ignore the new lore? Pretty based actually.

Easy
>pull a Red Dwarf and have the officer frozen in stasis right before a major event keeps them trapped for x years
>have the warp drive break in a weird way and their ship experiences a time dilation effect that has them arrive x years in the future (Star Wars had this happen as a background event in the lead up to Episode 2)

Though he claimed American Indian ancestry, he was in fact of Eastern European Jewish background. "Highwater" was heavily criticized by actual American Indians for his writings, which typically contained stereotypical and inaccurate depictions of Indian culture.

It reminds me of when Sisko went to the past and had to fight for workers rights, because it was so horrible that the government stopped the "Pay people to dig holes and fill them up again" program and instead gave everyone out of work free food and free beds. User was claiming that the review bomb killed it and that review bombs happen because of gender swaps and race swaps, and it's why the new Little Mermaid failed, because of racist review bombers.
When another user pointed out this Star Trek had none of that, his retort was people who haven't seen Star Trek before review bombed it because it wasn't anything like Old Trek. Either no-one questioned how that makes sense or he blocked everyone before they could.

First, completely ignore the last 10 years of tv shows (given)
It's set 40ish years after voyager returns.
The captain is a positronic AI built directly into the computer of an experimental ship. The neural gel packs are also in play. There are holo emitters through the ship, and as such half the crew isn't human, or even alien, they're not even real. Most aren't advanced holograms and therefore aren't given ranks.
There is a human as 2nd in command, they are consistently at odds with the computers logic and rigor.
The chief engineer is Molly O'Brien, who can relieve the captain of duty if they seem them corrupted or unfit in some fashion.
There is a young-appearing Q who made it through Starfleet seemingly without using any powers, he's an ensign. Everyone suspects him of being nefarious but has never shown to be so. Starfleet couldn't just deny him entry though because that would be racist, and he was technically a citizen of a federation colony before showing Q powers.
An andorian. I just like them. She's a sexpot.

That's all I got for now. It's a typical mission of exploration and science. Less political affairs for the most part, but occasionally bumping heads with other known groups, species, etc.

That is the point. It's to build understandable conflict into the ship in a way you can relate to, that also challenges precious trek lore (measure of a man, the doctor, etc).
Keep everything general and don't draw 1:1 parallels (no sam altman standin and shit). Just write stories.
The main protags of the show would be the flesh and blood crew, but they have to deal with an AI cap'n.

What's with so many SFA defenders shaming people for wanting something more like TNG and calling us whiny? It's not like we're inundated with TNG clones. All I can think of is The Orville and as far as official Trek goes it's been nearly 30 years since Voyager.

Some of us don't even necessarily want TNG clones, just something that at least feels like it exists in the same world as TNG-DS9-VOY. A show about cadets *could* have satisfied that itch if it actually tried.

I think it was fine.
I was very confused for a moment with what anon said because I didn't remember it being like that because it's really just another "Character is trapped on a fake enterprise" episode which is probably done in every single season of any Star Trek at least twice, sometimes not even using a transporter to get there. I'd even include things like image related in that.
It made me think of the Twilight Zone and the episode with the human zoo. The people staring is more interesting than the alleged philosophical question, especially with the rushed part of "Disease is fine but condoms, abortion and just not having sex aren't".

Star Trek 5 is not that bad, if we ignore crappy humor, and low standard special effects. I like all the character moments we get there, like the camping scene, or McCoy facing his great regret.
>>
>>218889407
I don't. Why are you purposefully being retarded? They've already established in Star Trek that holograms and Androids count as human, but where's the line? Like measure of a man, or polanski, the conflict would be between who thinks the captain is a tool and who thinks it's a sentient being. Same with data, or the doctor.
No one thinks that AI is legitimately intelligent irl except a few nutjobs. But what if AGI actually comes about in your lifetime? How do you prove it?
And once a society accepts it, how do you keep it reigned in?
I wouldn't revolve the whole show around it, the show would still be about exploration and space travel and andorian sexpots.
>>
>>218884868
Being bored is important. They've been constantly entertained and propandized for their entire lives. They haven't had a chance to develop a sense of individuality. That is why the concept of subjective taste is unfamiliar; everything has always been dictated.

In addition, playing outside with kids unsupervised is important. That is where you learn to deal with nuance. "How do we play without inviting that weird kid? How do we stop those two from always fighting?" This, too, has been deprived to most kids born after 1990.

Worst of all, they're publicly schooled. Because of all this, reality is checkboxes, not a subjective experience colored by objective principles. Reality is obedience and consumption. Noticing this is where the NPC meme came from: you know every opinion and way that it will be expressed by these types within 30 seconds of speaking with them.

Eh, most new people don't buy lifetime, it was worth it when it first released and was cheaper, but now it's only worth it when it's like 65% off or something, don't remember the exact number. Their major source of income is the bundles, like the one shown in the linked video, and gamblers gambling on gambleboxes to get their super special ships, and thirdly through people buying keys to sell to outright buy the lockbox ship they want.
Don't get me wrong though, some of them are unbelievably beautiful, but it's a minimum of $150 if you buy it outright, closer to $250 before the pity reward kicks in if you're opening chests.
And that's for one ship on one individual character. At least the bundles in the store are account-wide unlocks.

it's funny to notice that Avery Brooks himself would be furious with that. but he doesn't care about Hollywood or acting anymore, so he'll never notice it TO care about it.

he forced the writers to include the "I'll be back" lines so he wouldn't be dip-out-dad racist cliche, and the new writers made him one anyway with the confirmation

Not a joke, you can’t fight progress faggot. Give me one reason why you can’t transition into a robot. There’s entire groups of transman and women on the internet earnestly attempting to do this in earnest. Sleep on kinning and you’ll be the unc soon.

A Section 31 show could be kino if it wasn't attached to a Star Trek universe. Think of interplanetary glowniggers who instigate wars so they can sell weapons to both sides. Or destabalize planets then extract resources in the chaos. Writers can use our own foreign intervention for endless inspiration.

>>218904882
I feel like it could still be set in the Star Trek universe if the protagonists are Starfleet officers hunting Section 31 and are constantly 1 step behind, picking up the breadcrumbs, trying to piece together what their ultimate plan is and stop them, like the Bashir/Sloane arc but it's a whole show
(maybe without the Sloane attempting to recruit Bashir part)
>>
>>218904882
>A Section 31 show could be kino
wrong. Section 31 is retarded in concept, fucking blows, and always will. it should be fucking forgotten about forever as the embarrassment that it is.

Retard. Section 31 is an integral part of the federation
If you try to "stop" them, your starfleet superiors will transfer you to some shithole planet where you can't cause any problems

section 31 isn't even a secret black op organization or anything it's just a ghost story. there isnt even a myth just some con artists duping bashir.

What's the difference between "review bombing" and a bunch of people watching the show near it's premier and leaving negative reviews because they simply didn't like it?
>>
>>218909226

It's review bombing when it's too many negative reviews from people they don't like.

Guys, I underestimated you. I used one of your ways to indoctrinate my Dad recently.
I saw my dad watching a video on youtube called "best memes" to try to understand what a meme is.
After about 20 minutes of trying to convince him that a meme isn't just a joke, I finally realized I could use Darmok to convey it to him.
When you reference a meme, say Ricardo for example. You aren't just posting le funny naked guy, you are posting a reference to an entire history of a specific comedic medium including people using Ricardo to troll people looking for thirst traps or the obscure edits people made using Ricardo.
It's the same language as the Temerians. When I say "Juliet on the Balcony", it invokes a specific mental image associated with specific emotions. Ricardo is the same way. Darmok is the same way.
Thank you. My dad is a little more educated in pointlessness because of you guys.

>A medical ship on a mission to offer aid to developing worlds seeking federation membership.
>Few weapons, diverse crew of aliens and human scientists/doctors.
>Takes place 30 years after the events of DS9/VOY.
>Most episodic content is a mix of House and sci-fi with moral quandaries thrown in
>Overarching plot that develops over the series is a federation civil war where the medical ship tries to play a neutral party helping both sides.
>Characters include:
>Captain is a grizzled old doctor near retirement who has lost his motivation for the job at the beginning but finds he enjoys mentoring the young crew
>Chief engineer is a barclay type eccentric trying to keep the old medical frigate going
>First officer is a young upstart like Riker+Bashir, naive and energetic, often rushing into situations while the captain is more patient and wise
>Chief medical officer is a vulcan prodigy more interested in research than being a clinician. No bedside manner but extremely capable.
>Chief security officer is an O'Brien type who's pragmatic and tries to keep the crew alive with limited resources since they are just a medical ship.

Benefits to this show is you can appeal to hard core trek fans while also branching out into the audience that enjoys serial medical shows.

The "Lost Era" that follows the adventures of Enterprise-B under Captain Harriman (lol Tuesday) right up until the commissioning of Enterprise-C. All the aesthetics, actually canonizing the novels, and alluding ONLY to TOS, SNW, ENT, and Earth before, during, and after WWIII. Only a whisper about Discovery before the officer mentioning the ship and what happened to them being cut off mid-sentence and reminded that talking about it is tantamount to treason against Starfleet.

The bigger issue is Picard/Abrams.

aw, but I like SNW. I feel it's necessary (kinda) to explain why Enterprise (and of course, Enterprise-A) had to go the way they did and make way for B. Not to focus too much on them, of course; we'll need to focus on Enterprise-B, and possibly Captain Sulu as he was captain of the Excelsior at one point.
>>
It's embarassing how much Kurtzman Trek relied on just destroying major planets/civilizations.
>Romulus
>Vulcan in the Kelvin timeline
>Qo'noS being destroyed in the Burn
>the Burn itself being a big civilization-shattering event for no reason
>Earth leaving the Federation
Really just shows the ooga booga caveman mentality of him and his writers.

the borg queen isn't even that bad in first contact if you actually understand what they were trying to portray
the queen is the collective consciousness of the borg stuffed into a sexy female body. when she says "i am the borg" she means it literally. she's not a leader, she's an avatar.
