Which is the best Bond movie, and why is it GoldenEye (1995)?
>>218893639It is The Spy Who Loved Me.
>>218893639MOUTH
>>218893639Close, but you're one film off.
Famke Janssen, who became a star playing an assassin who kills men between her thighs in the 1995 James Bond movie GoldenEye, has said that she always found the “Bond Girl” title “demeaning”.The Dutch actor, whose credits also include the X-Men and Taken franchises, admitted to initial reluctance to accept the role in the 007 movie, which marked the Bond debut of Pierce Brosnan.“I was very aware of the pitfalls of being a model-turned-actor-turned-Bond Girl,” Janssen told The Guardian. “I thought ‘Bond Girl’ was such a demeaning term. But I thought: ‘I have nothing to lose; if I do this, I’m going to go all the way.’”She added that she improvised much of the character’s personality quirks in the film, solely in order to make her more memorable than traditional Bond Girls. Janssen played Xenia Onatopp, henchwoman to Sean Bean’s rogue agent 006, who throughout the movie appeared to receive orgasmic pleasure from violence.“I grew up on Bond movies, because my dad used to like them, and so I always thought of them as comedies, as tongue-in-cheek,” she continued. “I thought: ‘Let me make this character unforgettable.’ I went for broke. It easily could have failed. I don’t know where I got the confidence.”

GoldenEye is my favourite.Tomorrow Never Dies is underrated imo. TWINE is snooze-core and DAD is schlocky fun but way too fucking long. It needs to be 20 minutes shorter.
Can you guys pretty please post some dumbass architecture memes? I could use a good laugh.
>>218894962>Tomorrow Never Dies is underrated imoThe only thing I remember about it is the remote controlled BMW. And Jonathan Pryce is in it. I should watch it again.

>>218893899>CZECHEDGolden Gun Chads RISE UP!
>>218894962>Tomorrow Never Dies is underrated imo.It has a weak second act, but the first and third act is right up there with Goldeneye.
>>218893639Dalton and early Brosnan are probably the easiest to watch for modern audiences. I'm giving it to Goldfinger though. Managed to squeeze everything a Bond film should be into it's pre credits sequence. The fact the rest of the film is great and set the bar for the series going forward is just a bonus.
>>218895034I second this
CR is the best one
>>218893639>>218893744You guys meant TLD, right?
>>218893899This but Timesplitters 2
I like to imagine Brian Cox as Travelyan instead of the potential Anthony Hopkins, or the eventually-cast Sean Bean. I think it would have given the film a certain internal pressure that the final film was lacking, kind of a Succession with James Bond.
>>218893639From Russia With Love is what I consider the objectively best film of the franchise. Goldeneye is fantastic, definitely in the upper echelon of the series. Thunderball is my overall favorite. Peak Bond during the golden era.
>>218893744Pam and Domino are tied for the best Bond girl, LTK is ridiculously fun.
>>218895540retarded nigger btwcraig is the best bong or at the very min top 2 with sean above him

Brosnan era is when things started to go wrong. He spends more time mowing down faceless bad guys than anything else, one mindless action sequence after another, his character traits were either discarded or flanderized, and he had more in common with other 90s action heroes than any previous versions of the character.

You people are retarded. Goldfinger is the best.
>>218908998Best part is Orson Welles as Le Chiffre
>>218909327I fucking hate Halle Berry. Ugly as fuck and a shitty actress. Original Zendaya.
>>218909244I never thought much of it, but I watched it again when I went through the whole series a few years back and it's good shit. Jonathan Pryce carries it a fair bit but he's good in almost anything.

Best bond girl
>>2189087861) The Casino Royale novel is the worst James Bond book that Fleming wrote2) The movie is a terrible, unfaithful adaptation of it3) Craig is not James Bond, not the literary James Bond, not the cinematic James Bond, he is a generic Hollywood spy character in a tux

>>218893705FPBP
>>218893639Casino Royale

Why is Octopussy so hated? I thought it was pretty fun.
>>218894962>>218895206>>218909244>>218909623I hate Tomorrow Never Dies. It's just terribly written, one forgettable action sequence after another, and I like Michelle Yeoh but her and Brosnan are terrible together, no sparks, she might as well have been a man. Carver is a pathetic villain with the brain of a squirrel, a borderline parody of a villain, and isn't a threat to Bond at all so there's no suspense. It's ultimately nothing more than a shoddy remake of The Spy Who Loved Me. I'd rather just watch that instead
Roger Moore has the best ones
>>218914916"I've lost my charm"Not from where I'm standing

>>218914987Same, I'm just surprised that it's the lowest rated Moore film on RT.
>>218914916best villains, best girls, best gadgets, best movies
>>218915014but you see, Bond DRESSES UP LIKE A CLOWN, just ignore the fact that it's actually a really well done and suspensful scene and one of the best parts of the movie, he's DRESSED AS A CLOWN AHHHHH I'M GOING INSANE
>>218915014It's better than a view to a kill and the man with the golden gun
>>218915105Both of those are awesome as well. In fact the only "bad" Roger Moore movie is Moonraker, and it's still fun to watch anyway.
>>218915137I think moonraker is great up until the space stuff at the endmy least favorite roger moore movie has always been for your eyes only
>>218914780>see India in Octopussy and think it looks cool as fuck>also see behind the scenes footage of Moore exploring the streets and having fun at the hotel>grow up and want to see India>modern day India is a complete shitholeI don't even have to look up how Egypt is to see just how bad it's gotten since The Spy Who Loved Me. Fucking depressing that all these countries have gone to shit in the last 30 years.
>>218915137>rated 9% better than Octopussyi dont understand it at all
>>218893639Not only the greatest Bond film but one of the greatest of all time. It was important at the time after the franchises previous lack of success. Most iconic opening scene, one of the most iconic villains, and one of the coolest cars.
>>218915222I'm surprised that this one has never become THE iconic Bond movie over Goldfinger
>>218893639reminder that 30 year olds only like this because their older brothers let them play on the n64, and they saw the film 5+ years afterwards and decided to like it despite it being a massive step down
>>218914618TWINE's just kind of boring for the most part, DAD at least has some fun parts mostly when Halle Berry isn't on screen
>>218915312>mostly when Halle Berry isn't on screenKek true. Didn't like her then and I still don't know, bad casting choice.
>>218915222I really like this one but never saw what makes it so much better than the other Moore films. I would rank it near the bottom of Moore's output myself. I have a lot of nitpicks.Like how I hate the scene where Bond shows up at Fekesh's place, and that woman who decides to take a bullet for Bond after one kiss. Always thought that was a really dumb scene that's also weirdly edited. And there are like 10 of these little things that just annoy me and take me out of the movie when I watch The Spy Who Loved Me. Bond's bullet ricocheting off Jaws' teeth, Barbara Bach's russian accent that seems to disappear and reappear at random, Bond cracking like 8 bad jokes in a row when they're in the van trying to get away from Jaws, etc
>>218914916He's considered a clown by James Bond snobs
>>218908402It's literally the most James Bond of James Bond films but ok
>>218915481I thought it was weird too, I'd rate For Your Eyes Only above it easily.
>>218906935>>218907777Go deepthroat DAD and AVTAK you contrarian fags.>>2189136861) No, it's much better than Diamonds are Forever.2) No it isn't. All it does is change the Soviets to SPECTRE, which FRWL does too. The other changes make it even more action-packed than the novel, which never seems placate all you Pajeets who cry about the lack of diamond superlasers.3) Yeah, and Lazenby wasn't much like Moore, and Dalton was unpopular for a long time too. Craig was fine as a rookie meathead Bond in CR, even if he did just sleepwalk through his later flicks.
Most underrated Bond film
Objectively the best Bond movie with the most soul.
>>218915201>>218914987>>218915165BASED Octopussy enjoyers.>>218915137TMWTGG is fun, but AVTAK sucks. Walken is wasted and Moore is too old to do the stunts so the action scenes are edited to shit. It's a Bond flick with only one good action scene.
>>218915284Because Sean Connery IS James Bond. Robert Patrick is good, but Arnold Schwarzenegger IS The Terminator. Garfield was good, but Tobey Maguire IS Spiderman. You cannot easily replace people who were made for the role, even if the replacement is good or even better. Some people were born for certain roles like William H Macy in Fargo.
Bond ended when Pierce decided to exit the franchise. Daniel Craig does absolutely nothing for me.
>>218915610>It's a faithful adaptation because it sorta follows the same plot!Yeah just ignore that they completely change Bond as a character, his entire personality and outlook on life, and the tone of the novel vs the movie are like night and day, but I guess if it follows the same basic story beats that's fine!>which never seems placate all you Pajeets who cry about the lack of diamond superlasers.Maybe because we want diamond superlazers, and not Bond doing parkour in Africa
>>218915684>AVTAK sucksBased titles song though. The plot is also pretty interesting but it suffers from bad character writing and Moore just being too old.
>>218915716Casino Royale was good but that's it really. I'm disgusted by anyone that likes No Time to Die, that was insanely badly written and Craig was either badly written or just really phoned it in (probably both though).
>>218915483nta that's fine because James Bond snobs are considered clowns by normal people, Moore is a great Bond. I think the first 3 of Brosnan's movies are all about exactly equal. They're all excellent in different ways, and I'm tired of pretending I can pick one over the other. The plots, the action sequences, I love all 3. As we know Die Another Day drops the ball, but still quite watchable and far from the worst Bond movie.

>tfw we will never get a proper film of moonraker
>>218915650What a view...to a kill
>>218915948Bless her heart
>>218915971DAD, probably the worst in the entire series. It's about as early 2000s as an action movie can get but with the plot of some 90s straight-to-DVD schlock. It walks the fine line of "so bad it's good" maybe but I think it's just outright bad.
>>218915990Moonraker was such a great novel. Hugo Drax might just be my favorite literary Bond villain.
>>218916014
>>218916014That movie got me into women with short haircuts.
>>218916029I must have slept through it, that one starts with paraskiing right or is that the one before
>>218916084That's the prior one. DAD is about a giant space laser that can destroy crops and the icecaps that uses diamonds to focus the laser.
DANCE INTO THE FIRE
>>218915952Yeah anons just won't stop sucking off DAF and DAD in this thread, glad you're calling them out
>>218915160Moonraker's got a lot going for it outside of the space shit. Michael Lonsdale plays a good villain and Jaws is kino.I can't find the clip, but one of my favorite scenes is the bit with Drax on the phone complaining about his last dead henchman and he's like>well who CAN you send... oh, no, of course, he'll do nicelyand then it cuts to Jaws at the airport.
>>218916125>giant space laser that can destroy crops and the icecapsThat's some Austin Powers type shit
>>218916029>the worst in the entire seriesThat's not Spectre or Diamonds Are Forever
>>218916193...Anon, where do you think Austin Powers got its ideas from? There's been like four or five Bond movies with space lasers or death satellites.
>>218916185It's a mix of good and bad.Good:>amazing Ken Adams sets, maybe the best work he's ever done>Moore turns in a fine performance>top tier score>Drax is an awesome villain>the scene where the dogs tear that bitch apart >zero gravity sex endingBad:>clearly rushed since they originally planned to make For Your Eyes Only first>horribly edited>the lamest action scenes of any Bond movie >paced like a theme park ride where Bond travels to like 12 different locations and spends maybe 30 seconds at one before being whisked off to the next one like It's a Small World at Disneyland>Some really stupid dialogue, like the girl who said she needed to write a letter to her grandma, but after Bond fucks her, she claims she can no longer read>Jaws talks, gets a girlfriend and turns good, which is so lame and gay compared to the silent Monster he was in the last movie
>>218916047Cute
>>218916525Yeah, I'm not denying the bad about Moonraker but it's pretty far from "omg worst bond evar" like some people try to imply it is.I feel like that's almost as much of a meme as "Goldeneye/CR are the best bond movies!" is, it typically outs anyone who's never seen any other Bonds.Goldeneye is pretty good albeit
>>218916718I wouldn't say that Moonraker is the worst Bond movie, but it is the worst Bond movie featuring Roger Moore. I would certainly rank it above Brosnan's films (except Goldeneye) and all of Craig's
>>218916718I think some of the dislike for Moonraker comes from the fact that it has absolutely nothing to do with the original story except for the title.
>>218916869I agree it's better than most of Brosnan's and all of Craig's, but would you say it's worse than A View to a Kill?
>>218916869>>218917063the fact that you guys all hate craig is genuinely insane, this is why i have to remind myself that 4chan isnt the same as irl because you niggers are genuinely retarded
>>218917103What's to like about him? He's got zero charisma in the role, he looks older than Moore in half of his movies, and they're all written to be dreary boring no-fun-allowed shit, particularly the last two he did.Seriously, anon, tell me what elevates him over the other Bond actors.
>>218917063>but would you say it's worse than A View to a Kill?Yes. I honestly love AVTAK. It's such an odd and unique Bond movie, takes the classic Bond tropes and twists them in weird funny ways that always make me smile. The plot is Goldfinger but in reverse, with memorably wacky shit in every scene, and Walken and Grace Jones are top tier. It is my fifth favorite film in the series, but it's not for casuals, only true Bond connoisseurs can appreciate it.
>>218917103More people hate Craig irl than you think, especially baby boomers and Gen Xers that grew up with Connery and Moore. My dad only saw Casino Royale and refuses to watch the rest of Craig's movies, and my dad is a huge Bond fan.The people who sing Daniel Craig's praises are all casuals who don't give two shits about the character of James Bond. I've never met an actual James Bond fan who likes Daniel Craig. The two things are mutually exclusive. Hell most of his fans haven't even SEEN anything before Brosnan
>>218917103I wouldn't say I hate him. He's just not a very good Bond. He lacks the charisma.
>>218914780It's a sweet distraction for an hour or two.
I think the first Bond movie you ever saw has a big influence on what you like. My first one was Moonraker - I can see it's not a great Bond film, but I'm having a fun time while watching it and isn't that enough?
>>218918645I honestly can't remember what the first Bond movie I saw was. My favourite is Dr. No though. I agree that as long as you're having a good time then that's good enough.
I only like Brosnan Bond films.I been enjoying the Mission Impossible films. even though they are over the top. I think I like Ethan Hunt more than Bond.
>>218918645My first was Tomorrow Never Dies which is now one of my least favorite Bond films. Loved it as a kid, can't stand it now
>>218917459Yeah, Craigshit is Bond for people who don't like Bond
>>218919763Daniel Craig doesnt have the genetics to be a smooth looking Bond.he looks like a fucking mechanic.
>>218893639currently going through the series, just dropping by to say tiffany was so fucking hot in diamonds, she made me diamonds ha hawould be one of the best bond's if it didn't have the worst opening of all time and it had a bit more polish
>>218919813>worst opening of all timeIt has Bond choking a woman with her own bikini top, that alone puts in the top half of cold opens for me. Also nothing could be worse than cold open in For Your Eyes Only, that retarded not-Bloceld and his remote control helicopter and offering to buy Bond a steel delicatessen
>>218893639Golden Eye for prime Famke.
>>218916261>Diamonds Are ForeverIt has a Howard Hughes rip off and comfy 70s Las Vegas, it is based.
>>218920092>Howard Hughes ripoffI'm pretty sure Mr. House from Fallout New Vegas was based on this, the disembodied voice that runs a casino. I recall noting other similarities but that's all I can remember now
>>218916718Moonraker just feels like the worst because of the space thing and how it was well known at the time that they did it to compete with Star Wars, so it tried to take a few bits from that which was a mistake. Goldeneye is also indeed really good. People can debate over CR all they want but I'll always hold Goldeneye was one of the best of the more 'serious' era.>>218920179Correct, Howard Hughes is the basis for a lot of things which is pretty funny. There's a few photos of House in game that mimic real life photos of Hughes, including pic related (House went into robotics while Hughes IRL was into aviation).
>>218920092In fairness I've only ever seen it once, I should give it another shot.
>>218920343It's pretty good. It's easily Connery's worst, but I also wouldn't call it the worst Bond film. The locations are awesome, Connery does a good performance and the plot gives an early idea of what was to come with the Moore movies.
>>218916185>>218916525The worst part is how totally different it is from the book.In the book, Drax is a nazi fugitive, who's slipped the net and gets noticed because he's cheating in bridge at a gentlemens club that M attends. It then has a great chapter on how Bond gets him back by counter cheating in the card game, and eventually you get to the plot, which is that under lieu of test launching a British nuclear missile, they'll have fitted it with an actual warhead and launch it at London.
>>218920343I don't like it for how it completely ignores Majesty's
>>218920419It's an odd intermediary film. Stranger still is that The Spy Who Loved Me makes strong reference to Her Majesty's.
>>218920419It would have been weird to see Connery weeping over a woman. It just wouldn't work. Better to pretend it's a direct successor to You Only Live Twice instead, and view OHMSS as a one off. Every Bond film kinda takes place in its own universe anyway
>>218914780Octopussy is absolute kino. Everyone uses the clown costume as an example of Moore at his silliest, but if you actually watch it he plays the whole scene as serious as a child's funeral. The entire Berlin segment of the film is a steady build up of tension and it's fucking great.
>>218920621>Everyone uses the clown costume as an example of Moore at his silliest, but if you actually watch it he plays the whole scene as serious as a child's funeralExactly, it's ironically one of the best showings of Moore being serious in an extremely tense circumstance.
>>218915165I visited Thailand a few years back and faced my stupid irrational fear of the ocean to take a boat to the island from The Man With the Golden Gun, only to find they'd completely fucking destroyed it. It's been concreted over and there are shops on the beach hawking useless plastic shit. The water is filthy because they use hundreds of diesel powered dinghys to escort tourists in and out, and of course mine sunk, actually permanently setting my fucking fear in stone.
>>218920869The ocean is pretty terrifying. I remember being on a boat in the middle of the atlantic and when it's the middle of the night, and you get that true darkness since you're so far from land, you stare out into the ocean and it's like staring into the eternal abyss and you half expect Cthulhu to rise out of the water. Also humans are so clumsy in the water and you have no idea what's underneath you, paddling around in the ocean makes you feel like a powerless little lamb that any creature could easily swim up and swallow whole.
>>218920595>Every Bond film kinda takes place in its own universe anywayTrue. Most do refer to each other and them all being the same person, with Moore making reference to some of the old equipment Q has from past missions from the Connery era and of course to being married in Majesty's. Then with Dalton, other characters reference his marriage in License to Kill.As far as I know, Brosnan and Craig are the only Bonds that don't refer to anything from past actors eras.
>>218920869>they'd completely fucking destroyed it. It's been concreted over and there are shops on the beach hawking useless plastic shit. What the fuck, really? That's so disappointing. Like I said about Egypt and India though, a lot of these places are in such terrible states now compared to in the 70s and 80s.
>>218920985Exactly. You cannot convince me it's natural for humans to enter deep water. You see the average aquatic creature swimming along gracefully and the best Olympic swimmers look amateurish in comparison. We simply aren't built for it.Anyway. Thirdies suck for ruining their beautiful countries.
>>218894010Gay niggertard
>>218913034we didn't deserve to get the best and the hottest of the Bond girls in the same movie
>>218921188I remember reading something about how the cause is that they didn't 'earn' all the tech they have. England and Europe had all that industrial revolution shit and all the manufacturing long before these countries, so most of them got all that stuff really late and didn't adapt to it or understand it unlike countries that developed it rather than adopted it. That also ties into thirdies and their consumerism. They buy up shit all the time and end up with a severe throwaway culture, so that's partly why India has a 30 story high trash mountain that rivals the tallest buildings in that part of that city.
>>218909244>TND is goodGo back to /pol/, chud
pls dont 404, i love this thread
>>218921299You're right. A friend of mine actually compared it with Star Trek's Prime Directive. Officers are prohibited to interfere with primitive civilisations, including and especially by granting access to advanced technology. India is the perfect real-world example as to why that is. We have maybe hundreds of thousands of people working in offices with cheap but advanced computers who think it's a totally normal 9-5 job to scam old people out of money. And not one of them comprehends that the one-tonne metal boxes they tear around in day and night might work better if they didn't try to jam 12 of them side by side on a regular sized road.
>>218921684Pretty much. I wouldn't be surprised if Roddenberry used modern history and the effects of industrialization on thirdie countries as a basis for the prime directive. They got too much too fast and didn't do the work themselves that would've taught them valuable lessons about the usage and its consequences.
>ywn experience Greece, Venice or Egypt in the 70s and 80s
>>218921888I like that the Bond films are a time capsule of when they're made. It's why I don't want a film set in the past.
>>218921992Same, no modern movie would to any of these places justice. Watching a lot of these movies when I was a kid was like traveling for me, I was amazed at some of the places he goes. I watched TLD a week ago and when they get to Venice at that beautiful hotel, I started thinking about how today you wouldn't be able to get a clear photo of it as it would be surrounded by Indians and tourists with their phones out.
>>2189136861) Casino Royale is one of the best of Fleming's Bond novels, a fact agreed upon by fans and Bond scholars2) the movie is a faithful adaptation, the few changes it has is to make the movie more action packed3) I don't care for Craig's later films, in CR he is a very good Bond, and it's agreed by Bond scholars and even Roger Moore himself that Craig in CR is a good representation of the literay Bond
>>218893639Either Goldfinger, the one that all the others used the formula from until the Craig era, or Skyfall because of the Home Alone bit at the end.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X18he4HDidQ
>>218922279Was Le Chiffre belting a naked Bond in the ballsack with a length of rope in the original book? I'm honestly curious.
The Moore films then Dalton followed by Connery and Craig.
>>218922429yesbut the instrument was differentin the book it was a carpet beater not a knotted rope
>>218906464The Brosnan films were shat out in quick succession in order to keep the production company afloat after the disappointing returns of the Dalton era. He was a good Bond. The scripts were bad. They were massive crowd pleasers at the time though. Everyone shits on DAD but it made the most money of any Bond film up until that point.Anyway, without a book to adapt most of the films are shit if they don't work on the script for an extended period of time.
>>218907510>The world is not enough is fucking BORINGFrom Russia With Love is boring too if you're expecting to watch an action film.TWINE is misaligned, probably would be rated higher if it wasn't for Christmas Jones. She does come twice a year though.
>>218922657Pretty impressive that the product placement in Die Another Day paid for 2/3rds of its budget
jesus christ all the initialisms in this thread"bro DAD was better than TMWTGG but about DAFONIGG compared to KIKESPAG like bro"
>>218920411>The worst part is how totally different it is from the book.Moonraker the film is almost a complete remake of The Spy Who Loved Me. They wanted to cash in on the success of Star Wars. But yeah, the book is completely different and probably one of the better Fleming novels. Could really work today with a Elon Musk-type figure. Change his origin from Nazi Germany to Boer South Afrikan pissed off with Britain for some reason, it practically writes itself.
>>218922979I just wish there would be a way you could film the intricacies of the bridge game, the way that Bond has Drax hang himself is great.
>>218923233Would only work in a period setting. A modern adaption would have Bond pitted against Musk in World of Warcraft or Fortnite. I wish I was joking.
>>218923797true, but I also think that Bond should return to period settings. Modern Bond is shit, as spies simply don't exist in the same way anymore.
>>218915093Daniel Craig Bond did the Halloween costumes in Mexico bit.
>>218922789Try watching the movies then, retard.
>>218923797
>>218922279>Bond not fucking a hot woman because time is short and THE MISSION IS MORE IMPORTANT!Your Bond scholars are retarded apparently. >even Roger Moore himself that Craig in CR is a good representation of the literay BondWhat is Roger Moore going to do, talk shit about the new Bond and make himself look like a bitter old man? That's completely meaninglessBook Bond was a straight up misogynist who literally hates women. He brings it up more than once. Meanwhile Craigbond is a cuck who fucks exactly 1 girl per movie and treats them like princesses
>>218924891God Never Say Never Again is shit.
>>218924934Fleming’s Bond disdain for emotional attachment and his cynicism toward women stem from trauma and the constant moral corrosion of espionage, not hatred you mongCraig’s Casino Royale Bond is a chad for placing his duties above his sexual conquests and it psychologically consistent with the novelHis restraint shows discipline, professionalism and the emotional scars of the job - again all traits entirely in line with Fleming’s creationBond isn’t a carefree playboy like some of the trashier movies emphasize, but a man defined by purpose and lossAnd Moore understood the layers of Bond better than mostHe recognized that Craig's Casino Royale captured the cold, damaged spy that Fleming envisioned beneath the style and charmIf he truly didn't like it and was just being polite, he could simply not have said anything or even throw out a casual "it's fine" - he wouldn't have been raving about how fucking good the movie was and how he personally bought the DVD as soon as he could, like he did
>>218920869>watch man with the golden gun>uncles and granfather walk across the screenthey used my grandfather's dojo as extras. They have pic of them with Lee somewhere, three tiny asian men and dracula-ass christopher lee looming over them kek
>>218893639he has a big mouth
>>2189147808 pussies? where?
>>218915716That wrinkly old homo has zero screen presence, no matter how much he purses his lips like Zoolander. 100% agreed.
>>218922684They're both lacking action but from russia with love is much more entertaining
I saw From Russia with Love for the first time recently and I can't stop thinking about how cool Istanbul was as the setting. Never been to Turkey but that movie unironically makes me want to visit as my next vacation. Also it was cool seeing a young Robert Shaw. I had only known him as Quint in Jaws
>>218893639Bullshit, man! It was all fake!
>>218929472Did they also use a toy car for that one scene in DaD?
>>218922279>Agreed by Bond ScholarsIs that a college major? You appeal to authority faggot.
>>218929335most of the early Bond films were kino. I have been rewatching them in order and so far only two were stinkers. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was meh, too long and plodding. Diamonds are Forever has been the worst Connery film. Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd propped that movie up for me
>>218908829>he's just like me fr
>>218915650But can we DANCE, INTO THE FIREEEE.THE FATAL SOUNDS OF BROKEN DREAMS! DUN DUN
>>218915983Necros, NOOO!
>>218929569Yeah, Sean was over it before Diamonds.
>>218915165I've always wanted to see Vienna, Budapest, and Istanbul but I'm afraid to see what modern European immigration policy has done to then.
>>218919813I fucking love Diamonds Are ForeverIt's the most intentionally campy one (Jill St. John was a comedic actress known for being on Laugh-In and Batman and shit). Anyone who doesn't like it is probably a joyless asshole>>218919813
>>218920460You mean For Your Eyes Only? That's the one where he visits Tracy's grave and kills Blofeld
>>218925724The unused theme song is absolute early 80s movie theme kinohttps://youtu.be/wPlvMj1iroU?si=xSsIqRkvwao1RGnY
>>218917459>>218919763I've seen every single Bond. Casino Royale is good, even if Craig's later movies are shit.Claiming it's "not actual Bond" is retarded, there are plenty of more down-to-Earth Bonds that are good, like FRWL or LTK.>>218916718>>218916525Moonraker's a lot of fun. It's not exactly good, but it's an absolute blast from start to finish. I always really loved the boat chase.
>>218930481DAF is kinda retarded but Charles Gray's Blofeld is a hoot.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBymIcHD7YA
>>218931532as far as looks go, I liked Donald Pleasence's version best. Very striking and iconic look. Charles Gray was my favorite as far as acting and personality, very entertaining.
>>218931532>>218932605No idea what this expression is meant to convey but I find it hilarious
>>218906560>From Russia With LoveThe gypsy camp scenes drag on for way too long. Despite its other merits, it doesn’t belong in a top 5 list.
>>218931532>>218932605For me, it's Savalas Blofeld that's the best. He may seem like a gangster, but he's the only one that could conceivably match Bond in a fight. The Waltz Blofeld is the worst by far.
>>218932952I find it surprising that From Russia With Love remains the only Bond movie where he has a threesome
>>218934736It’s an allegory for the UK’s role in the Cold War.
I will never ever get over the fact they switched it from Baccarat to TEXAS FUCKIN HOLD EM POKER for Casino Royale. Why? Literally because it was super popular at the time in the US. Confirmed in interviews, not making it up.Anyway I grew up with Dalton and Brosnan and remember I loved all the Brosnan ones. I did a rewatch of every Bond in order since it came on Netflix last month and all 4 Brosnan ones are HORRIBLE even Goldeneye. Brosnan used to be my fav bond now I would say he's the worst even though I hate Daniel Craig. Up to LTK they feel like English movies. Brosnan ones feel like American made movies. Literally the Bond 'feel' is completely gone in them.Best 5 though1. Dr. No (cause Bond is actually doing a lot of detective work, very comfy)2. License To Kill3. Goldfinger4. The Living Daylights5. The Spy Who Loved MeTakeaways from rewatching a lot of them for the first time in 20+ yearsOHMSS is pretty awesome, Lazenby is greatYou Only Live Twice is borderline unwatchable, Connery seems so boredDiamonds are Forever is god awfulRoger Moore is awesome, don't know why I didn't like him as a kidChristopher Lee is absolutely the best villain of the whole seriesDalton is the perfect bond and I wish we got the 3rd filmthank you for listening to my blog
>>218893885> She added that she improvised much of the character’s personality quirks in the film, solely in order to make her more memorable than traditional Bond Girls. Janssen played Xenia Onatopp, henchwoman to Sean Bean’s rogue agent 006, who throughout the movie appeared to receive orgasmic pleasure from violence.Hottest Bond girl ever
>>218895034Obligatory
>>218896534A man of class and taste I see
>>218893639Licence to kill duh
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY3KQyq3GTgreally comfy dalton bond tribute video
>>218896170Boring movie
>>218938745Nice edit, I like how it ramps up.The Dalton movies are in my top three, with Goldeneye. But I still prefer Moore as Bond.Anyone see From Roger Moore with Love?Nice movie about him, seemed like a cool guy.
>>218941600thanks anon. there is a moore edit from the same channel that is pretty comfyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6GUiv3vSpsmoore and dalton are the best bonds imo. two sides of the same coin. fleming would have loved both of them as bond. i need to watch that docu still.
>>218930528He also mentions being married in The Spy Who Loved Me when he was in Egypt. I forgot about the grave sequence in FYEO actually.
Her accent isn't Georgian, Bond is a retard.
>>218938745As much as I loved Brosnan in Goldeneye, I think Dalton might have done it better.
>>218931532It threw me the first time I saw it because I'd just come off watching You Only Live Twice and in that Gray plays a completely different character.
>>218943854Last night I Bond Burger’d your sister?
>>218933270Telly Savalas is my favorite Blofeld as well, but Donald Pleasence is a close second. Waltz is shit because he's just playing the same character he ever plays but worse.
>>218945914>Waltz is shit because he's just playing the same character he ever plays but worseIt's funny to look back at his movies and realize he has no range at all.
>>218945982Yeah, he's good in Inglorious Basterds but when you get down to it the role is essentially just>look at me i'm le heckin' wacky and goofy BUT THEN I SERIOUS'Dand I can't help but feel like a lot of directors saw that and told him to do the same shit. I'm sure he could do better with a decent role but he's been very typecast.
>>218922429IIRC from some interview, that Broccoli lady had two conditions to allow the movie to be made:That torture scene must be kept from the bookAnd that scene where he says "the bitch is dead"
>>218893899>big head mode on>golden gun on>no nick nack>yanking your cousins controller out if he started winningThe past is a foreign country bros
>>218894962Once you realise that DAD is memberberries: 2002 edition (there are 40 references to honour 40 years of bond) you will accept its pure, sincere kino. Something which all later bonds are allergic to (sincerity that is; they fucking loved memberberries)
>>218893899>tfw you could only afford two genuine controllers and the third is some 3rd party thick see-through controller
>>218893705Spy is good but it's not as fun as Goldeneye.
>>218949655>tfw it has a turbo button
