What are some directors you hope can make a comeback?
Its Neil Blomkamp for me.

His first 2 films were great but he has been going downhill since then.

If he had released Oats Studio on a real streaming service it probably could have captured the Love Death and Robots audience.
>>
>>218930341
I hope Sion Sono gets uncancelled one of these days. Nobody stay cancelled forever
>>
Damn Chappie was ass
>>
>>218930341
District 9 was genuinely fresh. He was going to be Zach Cregger
>>
>>218930341
Shane Carruth
Vincent Gallo
Michel Gondry
Richard Kelly
>>
This nigga should bit the bullet and give us district 10
>>
>>218930341
So many but I'll keep it short.
>John Carpenter
Retired my ass, one more film before he goes.
>Polanski
Extremely unrealistic but it could happen, would take a miracle.
>David Fincher
His last three sucked and he's lost a fair bit of credibility and to top off it, his next film is a spin-off. He knows he's in the hole.
>>
>>218932228
Gallo couldn't possibly make a comeback in today's Hollywood and that EARONS film will never go public.
>Richard Kelly
This has been teased quite a bit but it could go somewhere.
>>
For a directing job gran turismo was okay other than the dei stuff
>>
>>218930341
What the fuck is demonic? lmao never heard of that one.
>>
>>218932341
>>Polanski
he was able to make 2-3 films even in the woke era, the last one being released less than three years ago. He's already past 90, but who knows. Manoel De Oliveira directed his final film at 103.
>>David Fincher
>His last three sucked
Gone Girl was very good.
Mank and The Killer while being disappointing were still above average films.
>>
>>218930341
Blomkamp was all set to make a glorious come back plus revive the Aliens series by making a new Alien 3. But dumbass jealous Ridley Scott squashed his movie. Then Ridley farted out his own turd movie which was swiftly forgotten.
>>
>>218932669
Gone girl made no sense. Fincher has always cared more for visuals than tight plots.
>>
>>218930341
District 9 wasn't good.
>>
>>218931880
We're getting there. They've finally started putting out Blu-rays of his old movies again and some of them have even had new interviews with him on them.
>>
>>218930341
Elysium was 2010s slop. I don't hate it but it wasn't an amazing movie. Haven't seen district nine.
>>
>>218932669
Gone Girl was fucking retarded, he's right.
>>
>>218936772
District 9 mogs everything made after 2020
>>
>>218935587
No he prioritizes a 50/50 split between atmosphere (what the kids call "vibes) and storytelling.
>>
>>218932064
Chappie could have been really good but the stupid pedophilic white trash couple took it over and made it into an advertisement for their band
>>
>>218932341
Fincher's only decent film is Seven and even that is pretty weak and silly upon rewatch (saw the re-release a couple years ago and was shocked how bad it is).
>>
>>218935587
>>218940261
This is why his only decent film was that music video for Bush
