I would hate that. It's so lame and cliche at this point. There's nothing special about neptune that means we'll suddenly find aliens when we get there or else if no signals then there's no life in the universe. It's silly. And space travel is not a computer game where one step leads to another and another until it's star trek. FTL is not a given and certainly need to be immediately achievable. The Expanse was most interesting because FTL was not possible even if fuel effecient engine tech was. That confined humanity to this solar system for the foreseeable future which is believable. It also makes for the most interesting storyline since everyone is competing for very limited space and resources with an ever increasing population of consoomers. Getting out of the solar system to another should be a monumental task, extremely risky, and take generations so current Earth will never even know if it worked or not. What I liked about For All Mankind was that fairly "simple" tasks are extremely difficult and dangerous because of their realistic take towards space travel being hard. Don't make it be "oh we got out into our solar system and within a few decades we found aliens all over and are traveling the stars at warp speed hehe!"
