If you read them, you discover quite quickly he was extremely religious, practiced his religion regularly, practiced and revised his musical works constantly (he was not a 'natural'), sought feedback from other musicians on his work when revising them, and far from being a womanizer, was extremely faithful to his wife who was NOT faithful to him: in 3 seperate instances he condemns her for being unfaithful to him. He did want to become God. According to Orthodox tradition, Lucifer, which means 'light bearer', in this sense, for all of Heaven, saw the light in himself, which was Gods light, and wanted it to be his without God. He wanted to ascend the throne 'above God'. In our 'fall' we mirror this desire, isntead of being what God created us to be. I've already quoted this for you, it's in scripture. It's so obviously and clearly laid out too, not like something in Ezekiel or other parts of Revelation which are extremely abstract and not literal. I thought this was something both Catholics and Orthodox agreed on, but apparently not.

This as I understand is true to Orthodox understanding and I agree with for the most part. But it doesn't fully explain Lucifers desire to rise above God. To have such a desire is to have free will. This is where Orthodox at least lean more into aschetics and Holy Men in Orhtodox monastic settings for explanation which I know is one part where Orthodox and Catholics differ greatly.
