Individual states have laws regarding Automatic knives, but the laws vary widely, with dome states banning the entire category, and other states banning automatic knives over a certain length, and other states banning the carrying of the knives, but not possession by collectors, etc. Knives that can easily be opened quickly by other means, are also illegal in various states, with butterfly knives sometimes banned, or gravity knives, or knives that can easily be flicked open, etc.
