The stand-out fight sequence is the Liu Kang/Reptile fight. 8/10Annihilation is a goofy, retarded and extremely campy sequel that feels like it has a lower budget even though its budget was actually higher than the first one's. Personally I have a lot of nostalgia for it though and the fight scenes aren't bad at all, and frankly Sandra Hess was a better Sonya Blade than Bridgette Wilson. She was in better shape and could actually fight, the Sonya/Kano fight in the first one was pathetic. The mud wrestling match between her and Mileena was kino. 7/10

A lot of people who were kids when the games came out so they didn't know any better won't want to admit this, but Mortal Kombat sucked back then. They were making a movie based on shitty source material so it was always doomed. Now don't get me wrong, the franchise has matured and produces much better media now than it did back then, but those initial games were shallow, lazy and coasted entirely on shock value. The movies (especially the second one) pulled their punches so they didn't even have the gore going for them, which was the entire draw of MK in the first place and the only reason anyone ever bothered to play it instead of something like Street Fighter 2.
