I mean the water thing is kind of a twist
>>
>>219038242

Bot critique

bots wish they had my powers of observation

the kids were absolutely insufferable and could've been removed entirely
>>
>>219038106
I don't know why but that scene of the alien crossing the screen still gives me the same chills it did back when the film released. Surprises me too because "MOVE KIDS! VAMINOS!" happens right before that which is hilarious.
>>
>>219038584
Its the superb score. If you put the movie on mute it loses all its creepyness
>>
>>219038242
The water thing isn't the main twist. The main twist is that God saved the family from the ayy lmaos, the signs of divine intervention that Mel dismissed before were real, and his faith is restored.
>>
this was the first movie i ever watched an opening night midnight showing of in a movie theater. it was my hometown one screen theater. i went with my parents. i was 10 years old. how sad that 24 years later, im still living with my parents in that same hometown.

The plot isn’t actully that important. It’s a tension thriller more than anything,
The direction and tension is apsoultely 10/10. It’s no wonder people had high hopes for samalongdingdong.
The goofly video tape birthday revel works becuase you had 50 minutes of master class tension build up before that point. They manage to even make something mundane like leaving glasses of water out seem creepy as fuck, Gibson also carries the first half hard.

>>219040850
Maybe, but there are some things the demon theory doesn't account for.
>implied cloaked ships floating way up in the air, with birds hitting them
>communicating with signals that the baby monitor can pick up
Demons shouldn't need to use technology, which it seems these beings do.

It's not bad but I was pretty disappointed after my expectations were high from watching The Sixth Sense. 90% of the dialogue being whispered also pissed me off because for whatever reason there were no subtitles for it on the streaming platform I watched it on.

Same exact thing can be said about arsenic and we aren’t dropping dead from it everyday. Although you certainly could argue a species advanced enough for interstellar travel would have certainly covered this base.
>>
>>219038835
I’m 46, falling asleep on my mom’s couch, constipated as a motherfucker from opiates due to my knee replacement. It’s all your perspective.

>Same exact thing can be said about arsenic
Can it? Arsenic is not a particularly abundant element on Earth. In daily life we encounter many many times more water in various forms

It's great. The downfall started with The Village, which was also a solid movie but at that point the tweeeeest became a meme.

ayys are demons and vice versa. Demontech

>>219046867
Debateable.
I'd argue it was Lady in the Water when he really messed up. There was a very good video on how Shyamalaan basically ruined his entire film career just for Lady in the Water

It dosent take an abundance of arsenic to kill us. Every person has trace amounts and it’s in many foods we eat. The beings didn’t have a problem with water until they got throughly wet. Again, I’m not completely dismissing the point that the water angle was stupid.
>>
>>219050416
>I’m not completely dismissing the point that the water angle was stupid.
and we are saying you are completely stupid for not dismissing the twist of the entire movie as completely stupid. Also trying to compare exposure levels of arsenic to exposure levels of water on earth is fucking retarded when we are composed of 60% water.

Are you even fucking educated or has education dropped so low that someone isn't able to quantify how completely retarded an advanced interstellar space alien race that invaded earth wouldn't have sensors or forethought about the one thing that might kill them i.e. getting doused in water? Therefore they'd avoid planets with an abundance of water or make the relevant precautions to limit exposure when invading the planet.

Also comparing something like arsenic which is rarer than say rare earth minerals that only exists in our body as trace elements to water that can make up as much as 75% of our body.

You are fucking stupid. I was a kid when I watched this dumb film and knew this shit then so you have no excuse even if your 18.
>>
>>219050416
and not to mention the fact it's a rip off of war of the worlds not even a good one.
