Yeah Netflix does that a lot, they “localize” instead of translate. It’s less about what was actually said and more about what sounds natural to some LA intern. You lose all the honorific nuance and tone shifts so characters come off way blander than they are.

If you care that much just grab proper fansubs, they’ll at least add notes when someone switches speech levels or makes a wordplay joke. Official subs are basically dub scripts 70% of the time now.

maybe people reading those webtoons don't watch much tv, so it doesn't translate into viewing figures. I imagine sci-fi is much better served in webtoons as well, but sci-fi dramas are pretty rare and aren't ever really huge hits to make it worthwhile for the networks investing the time and money.

Only a handful of episodes have been released so far and it will not be for everyone. It's in the genre of "fantastical" cdramas aimed at a younger audience (The White Snake is another example of this). So more fairytail than the typical wuxia or xanxia though it has elements of both.

Uee the FL lead in Mr Oh also did another contract marriage drama but very different.
Marriage Contract 2016. I cannot think of another FL character that had more misery thrown her way. Uee is incredible in the drama. Simply put the girl can act.

Its bleak and emotional. Don't want to spoil for those that may want to watch. It gets to a point its difficult to watch what the FL has to deal with but she learns to cope with the ML's and her young daughters help. For me it is a memorable drama.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have buried the chairman's involvement in the murder of Oh Gwang-jae and he would've buried the Mayor's scandal like she asked him to. Neither of them have full trust in each other, rightfully so. Their ambitions are what bring them together and also what keeps them apart
