What are some questions that are always on your mind when you rewatch Twin Peaks? Questions rarely asked, questions you forger afterwards.

>Pilot
Everyone is like "Who was the girl crying when Laura's death was about to be announced?". But I want to know, why did the teachers not do anything about it? "Oh, it's a student running and crying outside when she should be in class... anyway, Laura Palmer!"
Why did the Norwegians really leave? I get that it's because Audrey told them about Laura being murdered, but so what? Are they retarded? Do they think they will get murdered too? Why are Norwegians like this?
Was Fred Truax really fired? Surely you can't do this just like that, even in America! Did his axe strike true?
How did Jacoby manage to outrun Cooper and Truman in the elevator? He didn't even sound particularly winded.
Did anyone else think that the girl in the deer had room looked... almost exactly like... Laura Palmer?
Why did no one get punished legally for the fight at the Roadhouse? Mike and Bobby did attack the drugged Ed first and if they were "defending themselves" against Joey Paulsen and the guy who dried from a drug overdose IRL (and was used in an anti-drug campaign afterwards), why was Joey allowed to roam free with the Bookhouse Boys? Some injustice!

>Episode 1 (S01E02, for refrence)
Did anyone else start skipping all Donna scenes at this point already during their rewatches?
Was Donna's actress hired organically or was it because of Kale [sic] wanted her on the project since she was his girlfriend at the time?
Has there ever been an actress who ruined a great project as much as Donna's actress did?
How does a fish get into a percolator anyway? Have you ever heard of a percolator before Twin Peaks? What if Pete put the fish there on purpose to establish dominance over Harry, his romantic rival in pursuit of Josie?
>>
>>219050999
>What are some questions that are always on your mind when you rewatch Twin Peaks?
Why do women constantly fall for James. Oh you dumped me for lauras cousin. Oh she died and you want me back? Ok!
>>
>>219050999
What the fuck is the object that flies across the room behind the curtain in one the early black lodge scenes? It looks like a tiny flying saucer. I don't think it's ever mentioned or seen again
>>
>>219051095
Looks like saturn to me
>>
>>219050999
>Episode 2
Why was Leo unbothered by [Leland/Bob] hiding behind a tree right behind him?
Why did Nadine already have her steel bending superpowers before she overdosed on magical pills and survived the overdose?
Is this episode the reason why [The Japanese fans] became vocal in their dislike of Harry? They didn't like him being mean to Albert, or him punching Albert in the next episode, and yet they defended Viru Sumisu when he punched Kurisu Rokku when he made fun of his balding wife.
Why was Deputy Hawk and Harry not shown in Cooper's dream when he said they were there in the next episode?
Tangentially related, but this episode always makes me think - why did Michael J. Anderson have a huge falling out with David Lynch and why did he have to declare him a pedophile?

>Episode 3
Why was Leo chopping wood... outside? Chopping wood... outside!
Why did James rush to attack Bobby first when he dropped the truthbombs about Laura?

>Episode 4
How was the trick Jacoby did with his balls performed? Is it something you can really do in IRL?
If Hawk is the best tracker ever, how does he manage to immediately lose pursuit of Bobby - in the woods no less - when Bobby was on foot and Hawk started in a car? Is technology interfering with his Native American tracking powers?

>Episode 5
Is the Icelandic real Icelandic? It sounds real to me, but apparently fans made fun of it. Compared to the Norwegian that the not-Norwegian actors spoke in The Thing, the Norwegian in the pilot episode sounded convincing to me.
Was this episode still filmed before Kale convinced the producers to not let Dale have sex with Audrey's fertile teenage pussy (because Kale was fucking an actress who was herself playing a [wizened dry cunt] teenager)? Looks like Dale was still interested here.
Why was the Log Lady okay with Dale asking for social approval before he talked to the Log when she got angry when he did the same in episode 2?

>Episode 8
What happened to the Ambitious Attorney?
>>
>>219051187
>Episode 8
*7, with the pilot being "episode 0"

>Season 2, Episode 1
Realistically speaking, is there not some legal (ir)responsibility in play here? For the old waiter. Surely, you can't just let someone bleed out on the floor and do nothing.
And am I the only one who always fills in (in his mind), that when Cooper asked whether the check includes a gratuity, that he's asking to have said gratuity removed, due to the lack of medical attention given?
What's the deal with hospital food anyway?
>>
>>219050999
What would you guys have done if you found season 1 Audrey completely naked in your hotel room, begging you to fuck her?

How do you feel about zesty Billy Zane getting to take her virginity just because he looked a bit like Cooper?

Turn around 360 degrees and walk away. She said she was 18 but maybe she was actually 17 years 364 days and 23 hours old. It's too dangerous.

Is there a greater untapped potential market than "video essays on the Japanese reception of Twin Peaks"?

Why do all these YuChuba retards living in Japan just make "video essays on video games" when there's the huge opportunity on cracking the code on Twin Peaks JAPAN? To explore why the Japanese fell in love with Twin Peaks so much. Was it the trees? The coffee? The coffee ads came for sure later. Was it Josie being East Asian? Was it in Season 2 era when Piper Laurie became an Asian man? What did the Japanese fans like the most and the least? Did they even see Season 2 past episode 9? What about The Return? It is as if the Japanese community didn't even know or care about its release. No second wave of the Japanese Twin Peaks craze.

We can elaborate a lot on how they perceive it thanks to Deadly Premonition.
>The Japanese liked the good looking White actresses.
>They didn't like the "baka hidoi agressive" sheriff. Possibly he was dubbed to be more disrespectful towards Cooper.
>They thought the Log Lady was an evil witch.
>They wanted a more generic Biohazado-style resolution to everything.
>They thought Cooper was a wacky psychic with magic powers which were supposed to be explained later in the series.
>They thought Andy was a crazy weirdo, and a possible serial killer.

I was not prepared for season 2 to drop a legit tranny into the story, why did /tv/ not warn me of this absolute retardation?
Twin Peaks really was a show of "1 good idea, 5 bad ideas" and it took this to the extreme. It really should have just been like a six-to-eight episode miniseries.
>>
>>219050999
are those the titular twin peaks? not very impressive actually, i'm surprised they carry such a dedicated fanbase
>>

Did Leo ruin Eric Da Re's acting career? Or was his acting performance particularly criticized, since he was a nepo baby hired because his mom was the casting director?

Are you actually brain damaged? Dennis was a transvestite in season 2. He only becomes a "she" officially in season 3 where he is promoted to the CEO of FBI. Season 2 portrays the characters reacting to him as "ewww" - especially the Native American one - which is based and redpilled. Not that it matters much, since Lynch was basically not involved in that plot line at all, he only included the character in The Return to satirize the "muh sexual harassment" people, because he knew people would be uncomfortable with Lynch's character hanging around young women.
>>
>>219052839
>he only included the character in The Return to satirize the "muh sexual harassment" people
The scene was about Lynch reconciling with the period of Twin Peaks he wasn't in control of. Anything else was secondary

Japan was having a Forteana resurgence in the late 80s/early 90s as well. Hence all of the psychic Japanese girls in movies at the time. Set a Weird mystery in a sleepy forest town and you basically have a J-Horror film. Deadly Premonition is basically a gonzo Twin Peaks ripoff so I wouldn't use it as a reference to Japanese reception towards Twin Peaks since it's mostly Swery doing his own thing. He even tried to say he never saw Twin Peaks. I think he assumed nobody would recognize it. A lot of the RE-ification of the game was also due to executive meddling. The original idea for the game had no zombies or combat whatsoever.

there's a lot of metaphors at any given time. for example, "there was a fish in the percolator" refers to formulating creative ideas but shit can jam it up, basically. there's a lot of oddities like this, often metaphors for all kinds of things. another thing, in the first season, or in the first couple episodes, they find a boot, a clue, and one of em says somethin about "only this brand has the hole in the bottom of sole" but no shoes are made with holes like that. it would make for a very bad flaw in the shoe. its preposterous really, but the audience wont take much notice of it, as they're preoccupied with the murder mystery. they'll go "huh how odd" and that'll be that. so thats a major clue that Twin Peaks does not operate in our reality. that's just one.

We never question Lynch, we just bow to his will.
>>
Did Lynch always plan to make the Return 25 years after Fire Walk with Me?
>>
>>219057150
no
first he wanted to make third season just after the second one, but it was canceled, then he wanted to make a trilogy of movies but FWWM flopped, then the franchise was dead and then randomly years later there was a chance for a new season which happily coincided with one random throwaway line from the original show

Same but I didn't question him because I always skip after episode 9 (sometimes after the drug arc) to the finale when I rewatch season 2, so there might have been more
>>
>>219058875
Maybe, depends where you are quitting.
The Return intentionally blue balls the viewer and uses their nostalgia against them to make you uncomfortable. Trust me though if you truly like Twin Peaks, it wins you over by the end.
The second full watch is actually the best experience because the blueballing now has no effect, and the show itself is actually just great, but you have to have finished a watch already for it to work.
>>
>>219058875
I thought I would have a tough time going back into Season 3 before I first rewatched it in 2020 or 2021 but it was actually as smooth as the first time and I rewatched it two or three more times since then in 1080p.
The only intimidating factor is the length compared to Season 1 (~8 episodes) and Season 2 (9 episodes + finale).

>When discussing Lynch's direction, Boyle stated, "I remember, in the pilot, I did a very long scene that we had to shoot 30 or 40 times. David came up to me and said quietly, in my ear: 'Think of how gently a deer has to move in the snow…' It was strange direction. But that's what I thought of, and it worked. We were at the helm of a piece of heaven on Twin Peaks and we just went where David Lynch told us. That might sound very obscure but it really is true. How he sees the world is how we should all see the world.

Why do deer have to move gently through the snow? It's just condensed cold water.

Lynch made 8 hours of a man sweeping a floor and it cleared your entire worldview. take the L kindly and have some damn coffee.
