Going through Oscar winners as part of a film project, and I've reached a point where I have a burning question:
>Have the Oscars gotten the Best Picture winner right, even ONCE?
Looking back it seriously seems like they backed the wrong horse every single year without fail. Is it deliberate or something?
>>
anora last year
>>
Greatest wrong: Brokeback Mountain
>>
>oscars
You have forfeited the right to call yourself heterosexual, OP.

Needs more time, but should have been The Substance, Anora is just repulsive jewish/feminist propaganda
>>219068407
I know it's bullshit, but wrong every single time? It's never a coincidence with these people...

>The Substance
substance was 40 mins too long
>>
>>219068305
Brokeback wasn't great, but it lost to Crash.... probably one of the shittiest years to pull a Best Picture from. The real fault of that year is the movies that didn't even get nominated - Sin City, Lord of War, Walk the Line, Jarhead.... not saying those movies were amazing, but compared to Brokeback and Crash there's perhaps a more worthy winner.

Anora was 139 mins too long
>>
>>219068781
anora is about how whores are broken people

>Love whores goyim!

This is why I don't care about the Oscars. It must be a great networking op for the business but not a good gauge of what's worth watching.

Highest box office wins best picture from now on. Get the literal faggots in the academy out of the equation. Real people vote with their tickets and that's how we determine what the actual best movie of the year is.

The problem with cinema is that as any other art the value it has is very subjective. You can like a movie, think is a great movie, and another person can think is trash. Yeah there are some objetive ways to measure the quality of a movie but the movies nominated to the Oscar are all well made, it is at the end of the day a question of personal preference.

Substance is the sane thing
>>
>>219070380
oscars pics are dreadful but your solution is straight Idiocracy
>>
>>219072338
>Moonlight
Movie about literal gay niggers
>Captain America Civil War
Fun movie where Spider-Man fights Captain America

My solution would have saved the 2017 Oscars
>>
>>219072539
2017 was the year even normies woke up and realised how fucking ridiculous the Oscars are. Even by their own standards it should have been La La Land, but the woke takeover was complete so it had to be Moonlight. That 'accidental' wrong winner thing was almost like a confession.
Just from the nominees, La La Land, Hacksaw Ridge, Arrival and Manchester by the Sea would have all been better winners, but I guess it could have been worse - how the actual fuck did Hidden Figures even get nominated?
>Captain America Civil War
One of the best MCU movies admittedly, but still shouldn't be anywhere near an Oscars Best Picture, you must be high young or stupid to think otherwise.
>>
>>219068249
Braveheart was the right choice, change my mind
>>
>>219074380
A good winner, but beaten that year by Seven. Alternatively you could argue for Casino or even Toy Story. None of those three movies were even nominated.
>>
bump for an answer
>>
>>219068598
Disagree, The Substance is only 15-20 minutes too long, but it's just a really well made film in every other regard and is a lot better than Anora. If Oscar voters weren't so allergic to horror films and think every drama is the peak of cinema it would've won best pic.
>>
No Country was the right choice. Only pseud midwits like IMMM ACTING
>>
Years back, I sat through the first twenty or so. They're not masterpieces, but It Happened One Night and Casablanca were at least watchable.

The Academy doesn't pick the film because it's good, but because they think the film makes the industry look good.
