Shouldn't a starter question be more simple?
>>
>BuzzFeed says
That's why you don't shoehorn in company names all the time. People don't even get this meme today
>>
>>219083269
nigger everyone knows about le heckin swedish meatballs at ikea without going to fucking buzzfeed
>>
I wouldn't have gotten this
>>
>>219083058
I am not having this conversation again. It is a dumb question, irrespective of autism or lack thereof. Just because you hate autistic people, doesn't mean you need to defend this question. End of story.
>>
>>219083341
yeah but the question mentions "snapping selfies" "on a trip", that sort of shit heavily points to tourist spots. nobody treats ikea like a tourist destination.
>>
I ordered a cheap bed frame from ikea to avoid the meme of being a dude in a studio apartment sleeping on a mattress on the floor
kinda overrated desu, probably invest in a giant reclining sofa that will double as a bed next year

>>
>>219083438
Ikea markets itself as affordable. The question says "kitchens you cannot afford" which makes you think of luxury, not Ikea
>>
>>219083410

>>buying an entire fucking kitchen
It's also a subtle nod to the reality that debt is the new currency. Ikea is affordable only to those who make enough, ironically, to afford better furniture.
>>
>>219083487
The question explicitly states twentysomethings. No, they cannot afford even those kitchens. They cannot afford an apartment in the first place.

Next you will tell me we just need a firm handshake and good suit to get a job
>>

Regardless of whether the question is easy or hard a random Buzzfeed writer's daft opinion does not constitute trivia.

I'm just saying Ikea is not the first location you think of when someone says "shit you cannot afford", especially when the other choices mention expensive tourist traps like Rome and Paris

>Snapping selfies
Useless hint, since Paris, Rome, and London are all tourist locations, might even be an anti-hint since you wouldn't correlate Ikea with selfies, which is the actual correct answer
>Kitchens
Paris and Rome are both known for high quality restaurants and Ikea is mostly known for cheap furniture, another clue that will easily lead you off the mark, do people even buy kitchen appliances at ikea?
>Buzzfeed, twentysomethings
Another "clue" that seems to hint at youth and travel, not a furniture store
>Meatball break
Bizarrely worded but could easily be assumed to be a hint to Italian cuisine, thus directing you to Rome.

I sincerely think this question was written by nefarious intern to harvest shame and embarrassment from an unfortunate contestant.
>>
>>219083830
>The whole question is a joke
Which is a fucked up trick because Millionaire traditionally starts off with easy questions that have one joke answer. This one inverts the formula with no warning.

>1 obvious "wink wink" answer

Game shows like this require more than autistically learning facts and numbers, you actually have to have a functioning brain that is wired to live in society
>>
>>219083058
Pretty simple process of deduction:
>Snapping selfies in kitchens you can't afford
This immediately eliminates every international tourism location because who the fuck goes overseas to take a picture in a random ass kitchen?
>Taking a "meatball break"
Italy (and by extension, Rome) and Ikea are both well-known for meatballs
>Twentysomething does on their first trip
Most twentysomethings cannot afford an international tourism trip. They will likely be moving out to their own place for the first time, and a popular store for such an event is Ikea
>BuzzFeed says
BuzzFeed's audience was never interested in European tourism

Thus, the most logical answer is easily Ikea
>>

>>

>>
>>219083863
There's also one thing you missed.

Choosing Rome, but getting the question wrong, means you chose the more cultured option. At worst, you are slightly shamed for not being aware of youth trends.

Choose IKEA, but getting the question wrong, makes you look like an uncultured swine. This is even lore embarrassing for you on Television and you will mocked relentless. Especially if the real answer is Rome.

There's serious social pressure to avoid choosing IKEA as an answer.
>>
>>219086318
>Italy (and by extension, Rome) and Ikea are both well-known for meatballs
Italy is most certainly not even if American retards for some reason think that it is.
>>
>>219086624
The selfie's in kitchens wording is very strange, but would make more sense if you mentally connected it to taking pictures of food in a restaurant or getting a picture with the chef after your meal or some bullshit. It makes a lot more sense in the context of the game than taking a selfie in a fucking furniture store.

You also have to consider how bizarre Ikea looks next to those options. In the early questions there is almost always 1 joke answer that makes no sense and doesn't connect at all to the other 3, Ikea is the obvious outlier here and if you have watched the show before, your brain could automatically filter that out as the "joke option".
>>
>>219083717
I don't know what buzzfeed is but the question is obvious and only a retarded foreigner wouldn't pick ikea as the correct answer.

Ikea is not generally associated with selfies, Ikea is not generally associated with trips or anything worth going out of your way to see like the question implies, most people wouldn't associate Ikea with meatballs or food in general, they would associate it with shelving, chairs, tables, bedframes. Sure, the other answers don't fit the question perfectly, but neither does Ikea unless you are some social media addicted cunt that knew about a 15 minute Ikea trend.

Bottom line, this is a question by retards, for retards. Which probably explains why you think it's obvious.

The kitchen stuff is where IKEA stuff gets expensive. Still cheaper than many actual kitchen furnishing stores, but a fridge is gonna be more expensive than the cheapest domestic option.

Just because ikea has affordable stuff including kitchens, doesn't mean they sell more premium stuff. The kitchens on display are usually the more expensive ones, given their size and accessories.

t. first question failure Romefag
>>
>>219091834
Anon, it's the first fucking question. Usually the first question on Millionaire is something like "What common shape has 3 sides? A. Ketchup, B. Donald Duck. C. Your Mom or D. Triangle". You shouldn't have to know what is or isn't authentic Italian cuisine, or know that a fucking furniture store sells meatballs.
>>
>>219092150
The only 'trick' is that it was inverted. The first question frequently features an obvious throwaway joke answer, but not always. The guy in the OP even knew that Ikea has Swedish meatballs.
>>
>>219089306
tbf I haven't seen meatballs in their stores close to a decade now
>>
>>219089483
In American schools whenever there’s a multiple choice test there’s usually an obviously wrong and different 4th answer and 3 similar answers that you have to think about to get the right one. Like if you were asked
>Which ocean borders Russia, Canada, and Greenland?
A.) Indian
B.) Pacific
C.) Himalayas
D.) Arctic
You would know that C isn’t an option at all because it’s so different and obviously wrong, and you would think is it A,B, or D? An American contestant would recognize this pattern and rule out the fourth answer instinctually. You’re an ESL immigrant from India or something so you obviously don’t know that and are projecting your own brown status onto other people
>>

>The guy in the OP even knew that Ikea has Swedish meatballs.

I think this is the bigger problem, he actually had the necessary information and just choked. I admit, I probably would have fucked up this question too, but I have never been to Ikea, I think the nearest one to me is like 6 hours away. I also had no idea they sold meatballs or kitchen stuff. I assumed they only sold shit like bookcases and desks. So I'm working with a pretty bad handicap on this question. The only thing going for me is that I know Ikea is a Swedish company and Swedes love meatballs. But I'm not sure I would have made that connection in time.
>>
>>219083863
Satire?
>>
>>219092372
Multiple choice questions like this don’t end at elementary school, they’re used frequently all the way through high school. You don’t know this because you are an ESL that never attended school in America. This isn’t an insult or anything it’s just a fact that you are taking personally for some reason
>>
>>219092453
The answer is Ikea, anon. No amount of autistic over-thinking it cope like this >>219092326 will change that.
>>
>>219092127
You forgot to greentext, dumbass.
>>
>>219092511
Yes the answer is IKEA but the question is misleading due to
>3 answers are cities, 1 answer is a store, it is natural to assume the answer must be a city and not the obvious difference option
>first trip - people don’t usually say this phrase about going shopping. Have you ever heard about a “first trip” to Walmart? Aldi?
>snapping selfies and buzzfeed both heavily imply travel and not shopping. Who takes pictures while shopping?
Ultimately it’s a silly trivia question and it doesn’t really matter but the implications inherent to it mislead you to think the answer is different
