One time I was staying in a hotel in Colorado after the fires. Got out of bed, start getting ready, and the guy on the floor below me starts banging the ceiling. I gave a stomp because I didn’t think I was that loud. Well a man comes to my door and I open it aggressively ready to fight. Instead he looks like he’s going to cry. He said his family lost their home in the fire and they were trying to get some sleep. I apologized and crept along silently until I checked out. Since I felt like a dick I figured out which room was below mine and slid $100 in an envelope under the door.
