This might be the most overrated show of all time
>>219103753Fuck you, I like it
LYNCHED
>>219103753What did you think of it?>>219103865It was good whether you liked it or not.
>>219104598It was the most boorish SF ever. Pure poo.
>>219104598Meh. There is no rape in Star Wars. Also no profanity, particularly from heroes. Also no lesbians. Also, it's supposed to be Star WARS, not Star Dialogue. And yet despite that, it had its moments.... and everybody had at least one story arc they could enjoy. Me, I found the inner workings of the ISB engrossing.
>>219103753>most overrated show of all timeBreaking Bad
>>219103753This isn’t The Wire
>>219103753The first season is good at least
>>219103753It has massive fucking problems but is still the best Star Wars since ROTS. Nothing really happens for the first 6 episodes, it's egregious bullshit, but I stuck with it and got a Kino couple of episodes to finish.S2 is much, much better. Shame we couldn't get more of that. Watching Rogue One straight after makes it a way better movie, it makes a lot more sense instead of dropping characters on you like you're supposed to know who they are.
It was goated>>219107946You're a moron, this mindset is why star wars is a creatively bankrupt & dead franchise. andor was the first good thing since the OT>>219108875prequelwashing
>>219107086so you didn't enjoy it. that doesn't mean everyone else didn't enjoy it. People react differently to things. Look at any video of a deadly accident or crime. You've got people standing there in shock, people screaming, people running away, people trying to help, people not reacting at all. If everything served your particular needs then media wouldn't be very profitable. >>219107946Why even point out all these superficial details? Star wars wasn't incest until return of the jedi. It wasn't depressing until empire strikes back. Why wouldn't the "evil empire" be raping people? They're heavily based on the imperial japanese, who LOVED rape. It's thematically sound.
>>219108929>prequelwashingEp1 was my first star wars lmao. I'm not a fan, parents always kept the original trilogy away from me for some reason, I was aware of it because references were all over the place in the 90s, but my first time seeing it was Ep 1 in theatre. Didn't see 2 and 3 until way later after release. I've always thought SW has cool stuff in it but the movies themselves kinda suck. I sat through the OT properly at maybe age 20 and didn't see what the big deal was at all. It must have been amazing back in the 80s sure, but I had Trek to watch through and that shit all over the OT.
>>219108875We should've had 5 seasons. It seems they squashed 4 seasons into season 2. I bet the first half of season 2 would've been a lot better if they had more time to build up to things.
>>219103753>This might be the most overrated show of all timeyou're lying
>>219103753critical drinker liked it, so that means I liked it
>>219103865>>219108660
>>219109201I don't think 5 seasons of le slow burn would have improved a anything. S2 was good because lots of things happened
>>219108875>Nothing really happens for the first 6 episodes, it's egregious bullshitEpisode 6 is the one where they have a spaceship chase in the middle of a meteor shower, it was pretty awesome
>>219103753>Empire bad>Good guys are morally grey spies willing to do whatever it takes to winBoring space slop for boomers. Andor was shit
>>219110211Yes. Yes it was. It is hard to resist the idea that some of the people working on it hadn't played TIE Fighter on their Nintendo Wii back in the 90's.
>>219110211
it was so damn kino when her driver had a change of heart and was going to help her and then Andor just blows him away.
>>219110367Kino. If Disney like money there would have been a whole series of posters like this.
>>219110220That is unironically what makes the show interesting. It's the only mainstream media I've seen where revolutionaries are treated as being completely justified in anything they do, no matter how horrible, instead of handwringing about how "they went too far so they're just as bad as their enemies".
>>219103753i call it blandor because its so boring also i never watched it since im not gay like these redditors
this shot cost more than the entire Obiwan series
>>219109373Kino
Is the movie better watched before or after the show?
>>219103753its so boring i couldnt even get through the first episodethe latina is super hot, but even she couldnt get me to watch this crapthe show could be set in literally every universe and it wouldnt change a single thing
>>219110274>Wii >90s???
>>219110923It's a way better movie straight after the S2 finale
>>219110957Try fast-forwarding to the parts where all the people in the nice white uniforms are sitting around in the well-lit room talking about evil things in the most businesslike way possible.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qkc0-eyiqA
>>219110923I showed Andor and Rogue One back to back to a friend whod never seen any Star Wars other than the original 6 and despite loving Andor he thought Rogue One was one of the worst movies he'd ever seen. So maybe the whiplash in tone and quality isnt great.
>>219103753No one talks about it
>>219111019i swear to god this is intentionally as boring as possiblefast forwarded and still couldnt make it through those two minutes without asking myself why im watching this
>>219110923>>219111012I actually find Rogue One much worse after Andor, it's like watching The Sopranos only to find out Nicky Deuce is supposed to be the intended finale to the whole story.
>>219103753I finally watched it last year, and it was exactly as everybody said. It was very good and boring. The first couple of episodes of season 2 when he crashed that fighter was tedious AF.This show also made me realize I have no more interest in "grown up" Star Wars. Suicide and attempted rape don't belong in the franchise, IMO.
>>219110923Definitely before. Andor takes away all the impact of Rogue One's ending. Seriously, fuck that show
>>219110923>>219111119The change in tone is jarring.
I lost interest around episode 3 of season 2. That season spends a lot of time on the Mon Mothma plotline, which is just another weak imitation of Game of Thrones. In these scenes I'm always distracted and irritated by the garish costumes and hairstyles given to Coruscant's high society. Everyone looks ridiculous, which further detaches me from characters who are already outside my sympathy. This Mon is much more snooty and conceited than she was in ROTJ, with the result that I really don't care what happens to her and her cunty family.
>>219111189Meh. I guess it's one of those mileage may vary things.>>219111377>Suicide and attempted rape don't belong in the franchise, IMOI concur.
>>219111377>Suicide and attempted rape don't belong in the franchise, IMO.What the fuck do you think Jabba and Sebulba were doing to the women in their films?
Always think the opposite of what Mike Stoklasa says
>>219109078>Look at any video of a deadly accident or crimeCogent that the first thing that comes to a trandor apologist's mind when glazing his favorite RLM-approved slop is criminals and man-made disasters
>>219109826You mean you wouldn't have enjoyed it. Don't be so self centered anon.
>>219109161>parents always kept the original trilogy away from me for some reasonThey did that so you wouldn't become the kind of man who posts on 4chan about Star Wars as an adult. They failed.
>>219110220It actually showed how most of the empire are good people being controlled by evil people. The rebels are good and bad people, who are simply hard to control.
>>219111512>mileage may varyit feels like someone who absolutely fucking loves their corporate deskjob wrote thisits one of those shows that absolutely has no ties to the source material ever besides maybe some name drops where the writers insert their own fanfic with the backdrop of [insert lore here]
>>219111613He talked more about the prequels in his Andor review than he did Andor. George Lucas haunts this man's mind.
>>219110447They capitalized on trandalorean so hard and they were utterly shameless about it. Then andor comes out and they do nothing. It's like titanfall 2.
>>219110957>>219111019>>219111189Try this show, it may be more your speed.
>>219110923It's better to just remember what happened in the film and never think about it again. If you liked andor I expect you will not like rogue one after all these years. You've probably acquired a different taste.
>>219111377>>219111512>doesn't belong in this franchiseWhat about Jabba licking and pawing all over Leia's body with her dressed in a sex slave outfit? Does that not count because he is a slug monster and not human?
>>219103753Nah. The first season is legitimately excellent. A masterpiece with only most minute of flaws (mainly that the first arc takes little while to kick in to high gear). The second season IS a step down though. It's still good TV, but the descision to slam 4 seasons into one did some serious damage to the writing. But the first season is one of the best shows OR movies in a long time. Just class in every department from the writing to the music to the visuals to the acting.
>>219111634The first thing that came to mind was a football match but I thought it was too niche. Why would you assume what is written and possibly proof-read was the first thing to come to mind? Would make sense if we were in person but not on here, anon. I want you to be a better troll.
>>219109201>>219109826Three seasons would have been good enough for me.>First season is the same.>Second season is mostly the same except delay the final arc where Luthen finally gets caught to the beginning of the third season and replace it with a storyline where the Rebel Alliance finds Yavin base. The finale is Mon Mothma escaping the Senate instead.>Season 3 could instead be a much more fleshed out Rogue One with the Andor characters being more involved. Basically covers the race between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire for the Death Star plans leading up to A New Hope. First arc is Luthen death and Kleya escape, second arc is Kafrene and Jedha (a lot of focus on Saw), third arc is Eadu and is about Galen Erso, and then the final storyline is the Battle of Scarif.
>>219112217>only mostI am 100 percent sure i wrote "only the most". Fuck you Hiro.
>>219103753Nah that's Breaking Bad.
>>219112273They have enough leftover characters, I don't see why they can't continue with a 'Galactic Civil War' series of the same style.
>>219112547Breaking Bad is kino. People say it's overrated but then they rec stuff that isn't half as engaging.
>>219112634Yeah, like Better Call Saul. The true overrated show of all time.
>>219112017i watched "too old to die young" and that show is fast compared to the snorefest that is andor
>>219112679Better Call Saul isn't as addictive as Breaking Bad, no. But the level of craft is higher. It's the team from BB after learning all throughout BB how to get better and better. Better Call Saul just has a slower pace and feel. The camera is hand held a lot less, and the shots are very intentionally composed. It's a, say it with me... slow burn.
>>219112576Because Gilroy had his fill of Star Wars and it's all Filoni from here.
>>219103753goyslop
>>219112851You say slow burn, I say retconning Saul Goodman's character from Breaking Bad
>>219112863What if gilroy suddenly needs drug money?
>>219112863>it's all Filoni from hereAnd if you don't worship Ahsoka, you're going to have a bad time
>>219112962He's going to be 80 years old in a few years
>>219112916I think they pulled it off really well. Saul is just him being his worst self.
>George Lucas adds space magic and a Hamlet narrative to the typical ww2 thriller to be the most marketable IP ever sold to young boys>disney buys it, shoots the whole thing in an LED room, removes the Hamlet narrative & space magic, and adds rape so their only audience is infantile adults>this is a brilliant strategy acshuallyi don't get the appeal at all. Why would I not just watch Valkyrie or Where Eagles Dare again instead of a fake resistance in a fake story fighting fake nazis? What does this have narratively/artistically that 100 ww2 movies don't?
>>219112908Damn bro get a life. You've been posting this for years.
>>219112968The Ahsoka series has an inauspicious beginning for adult viewers who did not watch the CG cartoon shows. It's a direct sequel to Rebels, it expects you to be familiar with the events of that show, and in the first episode there's a scene where Miss Whatsername stands and looks at a wall mural depicting her old friends from Rebels, which due to some incredible intergalactic coincidence is drawn in the same art style as the Disney cartoon. The message is clearly sent: "If you have not watched Rebels, also available here on Disney+, you should go and watch that first." But I don't watch to watch Rebels.
>>219113074Well I'm out of ideas then.
>>219113303The real kicker is that I have watched Rebels and I think the Ahsoka show is a whack follow up to it.
>>219113117who are you quoting?
>>219112117That doesn't count because it was hot.OHHH HO HO HOOOOAHHH HAH HAH HAAAAHHHH
>>219112916>reconningit's almost like every season starts with showing him slowly getting worn down by his conscious & guilt until he finally breaks in the final season and stops being the evil persona he built. It's almost like Season 5 of BB starts with the guilt of poisoning the kid breaking Saul and he tries to get out before Walt threatens him, revealing Saul isn't a heartless monster.
>>219113501OH HOOOOOHARRRRGHBLLLNGGGGTAKE IT ALL YOU HOT LITTLE HUMANOID BITCH
>>219112968Even if you worship Ahsoka, you're going to have a bad time, because all Filoni will ever give you is Rosario Dawson Hagsoka, who looks wrong, is a completely different character, can't move, can't act, and is boring as shit. Actual Ahsoka (that was originally created by Lucas) that most of the people liked has been retired for years now since that final season of Clone Wars.
>>219109373He's literally me!!!!!, but I'm just fantasizing about leading a rebellion
I really don't understand people who hate Andor.
>>219115017It's boring and the characters are dull
>>219103753>remember all the boring political exposition scenes from the OT and the Prequels?>well we made a whole series out of them!
>>219116083Andor does it right, primarily because there's always a tense undercurrent to all the politicking compared to how it primarily just used to dump exposition in the prequels. Andor has intrigue, the PT didn't.
>>219108875more happens in the first two episodes of the mandalorian than the entirety of andor.andor portrays the empire as inefficient bureaucratic idiots which completely removes any scrap of suspense
>>219117619do we need more verisimilitude from a dead IP?they had to put away the lightsabers and the force, so now we just get C-SPAN in space.
>>219103753This is all you need.
>>219103753All it did was demonstrate power mechanism of the implied construct, which means it will filter out midwits and highbrowwits
>of all time>best ever>most insane>craziest shit>greatest- _-
>>219110377>change of heartHe didn't. He knew (or at least knew how to identify) the ISB agent sent to collect Mon. He wouldn't have asked Andor a generic "who are you" to figure out if Andor was ISB or not. He immediately knew Andor wasn't ISB and could pretty easily conclude that he was a rebel. If he really wanted to help Mon, he would've immediately gone along with them. Instead he tried stalling them with his bullshit questions, and Andor rightfully fried him
>>219111377>attempted rape don't belong in the franchise, IMO.uhhhhhh
>>219116083I liked those scenes in the OT and didn't find them boring. You need to have scenes that provide context/insight so that your movie/show isn't just non-stop action for action's sake. The trick, however, is in the balancing act.
>>219123029but to make a whole show about it?it begs the question: can you tell this story without the star wars setting?
>>219123984I wasn't talking about Andor but specifically the OT and then generalizing about movies/shows needing to find a balance point. I haven't watched Andor and only came here to get a feel for it.
I don't think Lieutenant Krole is getting an action figure anytime soon...
>>219123984Do you need to place the steak so high it needs a setting filter to it?
>>219115017three camps, they actually don't like it (shit taste), they're trying to bait as they are desperate for attention, and those who are part of the paid brigade paid a few rupees per post to shit up the board and drive away anons
>>219108875>S2 is much, much betterno its fucking not
>>219103753It's shit, like any other starshitnever listen to redditards' meme
Better than the Prequels god how bad the Prequels were
>>219119493Kyle Katarn series when?
>>219103753I could fix her
Great looking show but a lot of slow episodes where almost nothing happens.Give me The Mandalorian or Book of Boba Fett over it any day.
>>219103753>watch first two episodes>zzzzzzzzzzAlso it has nothing common with Lucas Saga in both spirit, aesthetic and creativity. Pure sterile and bland schlock of sleep inducing dialogues, visuals and action. >it costs $450-600 millions, more than PT combined. Lmao.
>>219110923Before the show, then rewatch it again after they show so you can see how garbage the movie is.
>>219109373>Simple phrase "I sacrificed everything!"articulated in pretentious word spaghetti.People always use this scene as a proof of show's greatness just to expose themselves as a midwits and dimwits. Acting itself is good since it's Stellan, but the writing of scene is not and thus proves nothing.
>>219103753People that like this are the same kind of shit taste fags that like dr who
