Meh. There is no rape in Star Wars. Also no profanity, particularly from heroes. Also no lesbians. Also, it's supposed to be Star WARS, not Star Dialogue.

And yet despite that, it had its moments.... and everybody had at least one story arc they could enjoy. Me, I found the inner workings of the ISB engrossing.

It has massive fucking problems but is still the best Star Wars since ROTS. Nothing really happens for the first 6 episodes, it's egregious bullshit, but I stuck with it and got a Kino couple of episodes to finish.

S2 is much, much better. Shame we couldn't get more of that. Watching Rogue One straight after makes it a way better movie, it makes a lot more sense instead of dropping characters on you like you're supposed to know who they are.
>>
It was goated
>>219107946
You're a moron, this mindset is why star wars is a creatively bankrupt & dead franchise. andor was the first good thing since the OT
>>219108875
prequelwashing
>>
>>219107086
so you didn't enjoy it. that doesn't mean everyone else didn't enjoy it. People react differently to things. Look at any video of a deadly accident or crime. You've got people standing there in shock, people screaming, people running away, people trying to help, people not reacting at all. If everything served your particular needs then media wouldn't be very profitable.
>>219107946
Why even point out all these superficial details? Star wars wasn't incest until return of the jedi. It wasn't depressing until empire strikes back. Why wouldn't the "evil empire" be raping people? They're heavily based on the imperial japanese, who LOVED rape. It's thematically sound.
>>
>>219108929
>prequelwashing

Ep1 was my first star wars lmao. I'm not a fan, parents always kept the original trilogy away from me for some reason, I was aware of it because references were all over the place in the 90s, but my first time seeing it was Ep 1 in theatre. Didn't see 2 and 3 until way later after release.

I've always thought SW has cool stuff in it but the movies themselves kinda suck. I sat through the OT properly at maybe age 20 and didn't see what the big deal was at all. It must have been amazing back in the 80s sure, but I had Trek to watch through and that shit all over the OT.
>>
>>219108875
We should've had 5 seasons. It seems they squashed 4 seasons into season 2. I bet the first half of season 2 would've been a lot better if they had more time to build up to things.

I showed Andor and Rogue One back to back to a friend whod never seen any Star Wars other than the original 6 and despite loving Andor he thought Rogue One was one of the worst movies he'd ever seen. So maybe the whiplash in tone and quality isnt great.

I actually find Rogue One much worse after Andor, it's like watching The Sopranos only to find out Nicky Deuce is supposed to be the intended finale to the whole story.
>>
>>219103753
I finally watched it last year, and it was exactly as everybody said. It was very good and boring. The first couple of episodes of season 2 when he crashed that fighter was tedious AF.
This show also made me realize I have no more interest in "grown up" Star Wars. Suicide and attempted rape don't belong in the franchise, IMO.
>>
>>219110923
Definitely before. Andor takes away all the impact of Rogue One's ending. Seriously, fuck that show
>>
>>219110923
>>219111119
The change in tone is jarring.
>>
I lost interest around episode 3 of season 2. That season spends a lot of time on the Mon Mothma plotline, which is just another weak imitation of Game of Thrones. In these scenes I'm always distracted and irritated by the garish costumes and hairstyles given to Coruscant's high society. Everyone looks ridiculous, which further detaches me from characters who are already outside my sympathy. This Mon is much more snooty and conceited than she was in ROTJ, with the result that I really don't care what happens to her and her cunty family.

Nah. The first season is legitimately excellent. A masterpiece with only most minute of flaws (mainly that the first arc takes little while to kick in to high gear).

The second season IS a step down though. It's still good TV, but the descision to slam 4 seasons into one did some serious damage to the writing.

But the first season is one of the best shows OR movies in a long time. Just class in every department from the writing to the music to the visuals to the acting.
>>
>>219111634
The first thing that came to mind was a football match but I thought it was too niche. Why would you assume what is written and possibly proof-read was the first thing to come to mind? Would make sense if we were in person but not on here, anon. I want you to be a better troll.
>>
>>219109201
>>219109826
Three seasons would have been good enough for me.

>First season is the same.

>Second season is mostly the same except delay the final arc where Luthen finally gets caught to the beginning of the third season and replace it with a storyline where the Rebel Alliance finds Yavin base. The finale is Mon Mothma escaping the Senate instead.

>Season 3 could instead be a much more fleshed out Rogue One with the Andor characters being more involved. Basically covers the race between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire for the Death Star plans leading up to A New Hope. First arc is Luthen death and Kleya escape, second arc is Kafrene and Jedha (a lot of focus on Saw), third arc is Eadu and is about Galen Erso, and then the final storyline is the Battle of Scarif.

Better Call Saul isn't as addictive as Breaking Bad, no. But the level of craft is higher. It's the team from BB after learning all throughout BB how to get better and better. Better Call Saul just has a slower pace and feel. The camera is hand held a lot less, and the shots are very intentionally composed. It's a, say it with me... slow burn.

>this is a brilliant strategy acshually

The Ahsoka series has an inauspicious beginning for adult viewers who did not watch the CG cartoon shows. It's a direct sequel to Rebels, it expects you to be familiar with the events of that show, and in the first episode there's a scene where Miss Whatsername stands and looks at a wall mural depicting her old friends from Rebels, which due to some incredible intergalactic coincidence is drawn in the same art style as the Disney cartoon. The message is clearly sent: "If you have not watched Rebels, also available here on Disney+, you should go and watch that first." But I don't watch to watch Rebels.

He didn't. He knew (or at least knew how to identify) the ISB agent sent to collect Mon. He wouldn't have asked Andor a generic "who are you" to figure out if Andor was ISB or not. He immediately knew Andor wasn't ISB and could pretty easily conclude that he was a rebel. If he really wanted to help Mon, he would've immediately gone along with them. Instead he tried stalling them with his bullshit questions, and Andor rightfully fried him

I liked those scenes in the OT and didn't find them boring. You need to have scenes that provide context/insight so that your movie/show isn't just non-stop action for action's sake. The trick, however, is in the balancing act.
