Zoomer here. I don't believe in the Seinfeld effect. I think you're all lying when you pretend anybody ever found this funny. It was a conspiracy to funnel money into the pockets of a few people in the (((industry)))
>>
Age 29 here (30 next month). Seinfeld has always been funny and its handling of social interactions in society is funny and relatable as ever. Obviously Jerry is the weak link but George and Kramer are two of the best sitcom characters of all time and Elaine is as good as a woman can be in a sitcom. Grow up zoomerbro jews can simultaneously run things and be funny

I literally can’t tell what’s funny anymore because of overstimulation and depression but people, normal people, of moderate to high intelligence, used to laugh out loud at simple combinations of funny sounding words 100 years ago.

>Man, I'm telling you this pizza idea is really gonna happen
>*studio audience chuckles*

>This is the thing where you go and you have to make your own pizza?
>Yeah! We give you the dough. You smash it, you pound it, you fling it up in the air and then you get to put your sauce and you get to sprinkle your cheese, and then! You slide it into the oven!
>*entire audience breaks into laughter*

>You know you have to know how to do that, you can't have people shoving their arms into a 600 degree oven!
>It's all supervised!
>Oh well...
>All of it!
>*audience progresses to loud, unrestrained guffawing*

>You want to invest?
>*Gestures to large jug of pennies* My money's all tied up in change
>You know, look, I'm telling you, people reaaally want to make their own pizza pie.
>I have to say something, with all due respect. I just never- I can't imagine anyone in any walk of life under any circumstance wanting to make their own pizza pie! But that's me.
>*the audience is raucous, a man passes out in the aisle and a PA can be heard in the background calling an ambulance*

was hot pot but for pizza really such a comical idea in the 90s?

You're like omegagiga wrong. The Seinfeld effect is bullshit but it's because it's a bad comparison, other sitcoms aren't like Seinfeld at all. In other sitcoms no one laughs when funny things happen, and there's always some kind of sappy moralfag moment.
It should've been called the I Love Lucy effect.

the "Seinfeld is Unfunny" effect, where something that is groundbreaking and innovative just seems boring because everything that came afterward copied its homework so it is now generic.

I know a zoomer who is almost 30 and he literally takes kratom and scrolls tiktok for like 10 hours a day and if you try to show him something funny he will watch it for about 1.5 seconds before he gets bored and loses focus. He literally tells me shit "isnt funny" after he watches like 6 seconds of a 3 minute video. Zoomers are actually cooked fr on god, senpai. All he pays attention to are lolcows.

I think the sitcom format in general is extremely contrived and stupid but there are a couple of exceptions and seinfeld is one of them. george costanza is one of my all time favorite tv characters.
>>
>>219126697
>>219126613
Calling it a direct rip off is obviously rage baiting. It's a completely original show that was influenced by Seinfeld. "It's like Seinfield on crack!" was the tag line they created you're not clever.
>>
>>219114674
Watching friends was normal, watching seinfeld was weird.

>>219114674
I recently rewatched the show, and its low points are still good.

>>219114674
Since so many retards are here who love this unfunny show. Explain what's the joke in the following scene?
>Jerry: you get abducted by aliens, they bring you back to their planet as a curiosity. Zoo or circus?
>George: zoo
>Audience starts laughing
>>
>>219131507
It's the satire of the irony. You're a zoomer. Only high IQ people like Seinfeld. You probably like Friends.
>>
>>219131507
A big cope among Seinfeld fans is to dismiss all unfunny scenes
>skip the first 3 season and the last 3 seasons
>so only 6 seasons left? got it
>most of those episodes suck as well, watch every third episode when you watch those season
What a great show
>>
>>219130507
He's probably the worst person of the four. All their negative traits are reflected in him, and at giant fun house mirror proportions.
>>
>>219131757
That's more a TNG thing. Seinfeld is good from beginning to end. Even the finale was funny, if a clip show. People just got mad that they ended up in jail.
>>
>>219131426
>sarcasm and irony
>higher order thinking
Sarcasm is the lowest form of comedy. A low hanging fruit. It's a tool for the redditor in you to see himself as funny when he has no wit. Le epic sarcasm where every person you meet has to be on their toes. You think you're being funny and others think you're just an asshole.
>>
>>219131888

>>
>>219131775
Seinfeld season 1 was not very fun, I skip every time. With both Seinfeld & TNG if you are skipping multiple seasons you're fucking up.

>>219133513
Skipping Roddenberry TNG is peak reddit. The productions are so much more elaborate even if the scripts are sillier

The humor in Seinfeld is based on social situations everyone recognized from their real life. Close talkers, two faced women, the Banias, face painters... Everyone could relate to those situations.
Zoomers don't experience social interactions. They deal with everything through text and when they meet anyone normal in real life they just zoomer stare at him.
That's why they don't understand humor. GenZ is the first robot generation.
>>
>>219129579
