How can something so irredeemably shit be so universally beloved?
>>
I'm pretty sure it isn't lmao the first one was great I've seen it 3 times but Glass Onion was fucking shit I couldn't even finish it. Never saw the 3rd one but I haven't heard a single person mention it irl so it must've been average at best. The first Knives Out was hard carried by Ana De Armas and Chris Evans

because 50 percent of the western population are shitlibs who read shit like the Guardian and say "yeah, this!" Most of these people aren't insightful and don't notice they got backpatted/self-jerked
>>

3rd one is pretty good, much better than glass onion though it's not saying much. The 1st one is the only one that feels like a movie though and not direct to streaming slop.
>>
>>219121199
Because it clearly isn’t irredeemably shit you just can’t understand why the rest of the world doesn’t share your subjective opinion

This also the main mystery was well executed until the ending retroactively ruins everything. Also breaking the rules on her lie vomit powers.

She should have been the villain. Without that, the film’s main theme is unironically “white people bad”.
>>
i like murder mysteries like these and the kenneth branaugh poirot movies >:(
>>
Haven’t seen any of these film, yet I know they’re garbage without viewing them.

It’s the impressive power of aggressive mediocrity. It’s not great, nor is it shit. It’s just sort of there. The two followups aren’t even as good as it is, but they’re also imminently forgettable.

I found the third movie to be the best one of the bunch
>>
>>219121199
Because half the world has worse taste than midwits.
>>
Third is the best one, second one is not as bad as everyone saying, first one is overrated, its a frustrating first watch
>>
I rewatched the first two movies with directors commentary, waiting for the third one
>>
These movies are just Rian Johnson lining up charactatures of people he doesn't like, and making them look bad. There's no attempt to write actual human beings here at all.
>>
>>219123567
so? a lot of them shouldn't be liked
i most dislike jamie curtis as the lady who built her company from the ground up with a gift of 1 million dollars
>>
>>219124666
there's a saying that before you can parody someone, you have to love them.
Rian can't do that. He's a deeply bitter man.
>dude, I hate rich people
>dude, I hate tech bros
>dude, I hate small town conservatives
It's just so transparent.
>>
>>219124885
i've never head that but regardless i consider his parodies enjoyable
like yeah i hate those things too. guess those movies were made for me

Mediocre is code for shit but popular.

>>219125480
>a staple of the mystery genre is the mystery is easily solved by picking the character that represents who the author has the most beef with at that moment
Detective Chud just blames the first negro in the general area.
>>
>>219123567
Not even the characters he likes are people.

Or you are just a shitliker

I enjoyed them. They're not deep or anything, but they're fun
>>219122606
could the middle or left one be my gf pls?
>>

The first one is good but I feel like it starts falling off after the mid-film twist. Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas both have great screen presence in this one and do a lot to keep it afloat but it feels like the story doesn't quite know what to do with itself.

Second one is dogshit through and through. Even Craig is shit in it.

Third one is probably the most consistently good one. These movies need to be in a gothic setting and the third one nails it. Josh Brolin kills. The main priest guy is good too. Craig's performance is back to near the quality of the first one.

>>219121199
I dunno I think they’re all shit, 1st one is so obvious and stupid. It feels like something you’d show to first graders to introduce them to mystery's. The second one is insultingly bad so much so that I regret watching it and have never watched the third one because shame on me for watching the second one.

Good man.
>>
3rd one was weird because aside from the horribly unfunny and flat side characters, the tension between the main 2 and the dead guy was sublime, shot in a beautiful forest, and featured a take on priests where he didn't have to revoke his faith and was able to help those in need, without preaching god or reading the bible, just by being a human being supporting someone who is losing her mother. i like these kind of good of humanity stories. but the side characters sucked. especially the cunt with the ipad.
