How can something so irredeemably shit be so universally beloved?
I'm pretty sure it isn't lmao the first one was great I've seen it 3 times but Glass Onion was fucking shit I couldn't even finish it. Never saw the 3rd one but I haven't heard a single person mention it irl so it must've been average at best. The first Knives Out was hard carried by Ana De Armas and Chris Evans

These movies are just Rian Johnson lining up charactatures of people he doesn't like, and making them look bad. There's no attempt to write actual human beings here at all.

Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas both have great screen presence in this one and do a lot to keep it afloat but it feels like the story doesn't quite know what to do with itself.Second one is dogshit through and through. Even Craig is shit in it.Third one is probably the most consistently good one. These movies need to be in a gothic setting and the third one nails it. Josh Brolin kills. The main priest guy is good too. Craig's performance is back to near the quality of the first one.

3rd one was weird because aside from the horribly unfunny and flat side characters, the tension between the main 2 and the dead guy was sublime, shot in a beautiful forest, and featured a take on priests where he didn't have to revoke his faith and was able to help those in need, without preaching god or reading the bible, just by being a human being supporting someone who is losing her mother. i like these kind of good of humanity stories. but the side characters sucked. especially the cunt with the ipad.
