WHERE'S THE FUCKING ADAPTATION
I'M WORKING ON IT SHITFUCKSTOP HASSLING ME
>>219131898im reading this now, theres barely any punctuation and its like all slang lol hard to read, hopefully gets easier
>>219131961no not really
>>219131898Wasn't James Franco going to do it?
>>219131961the style doesn't change or get easier, but you get into the rhythm of the text
>>219131961You get used to it
>>219131961Yea i kinda stopped reading because of that. But its strange, despite how annoying it is to read, those descriptions really stick with you are give you a surprisingly vivid idea of what everything looks like. I dont get it.
why would you need an adaptation of this trash>le brutal fight scene>le rape beheading scalping scene>le shootout scene>le brutal rape shootout beheading scene>"the real Blood Meridian was le man all along..."
>>219131985>>219132032>>219132106>>219132307yea its very illustrative but im personally not the strongest reader in terms of memory recall, in the short term mainly, he describes things uniquely but there's too many obstacles in his writing style for me to retain anything, ill still finish it though, id actaully benefit from a film, itll sort of amalgamate my understanding
Cormac McCarthy works tend to insist upon themselves. I can't get through any of them. There is personal writing style and then there is whatever he's trying to do for attention there.
>>219132642Just read it a dozen times and it’ll start to stick eventually
>>219132686>dozenhaha
The better McCarthy kino deserves an adaptationhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4I4IM7HgB0
>>219131961the audiobook is great if youre annoyed by thatcormacs later books are more accessible and honestly better
>>219132686>dozen timesdo most aspiring writers do this? read the same book multiple times, because i have the aptitude to become a good author but theres no chance in hell i would read a book more than once, but i think that stunts developing a unique writing style due to lack of practice
>>219131898>you ever heard of mainfest destiny? well, it was racist and le bad, m'kay?
>>219132857reading is rereadingyou haven't actually read a book unless you've read it at least twice
>>219132922>thinking it's just about manifest destiny being bad
>>219131898Overrated shit.>Majority of the book is filler and describing landscapes and the banality of evilIncredibly not overdone before.
>>219132857Being a good author is just about your own personal style you synthesize from many others. Obviously it isn't from copying someone else's. There's basically 0 way McCarthy would have come up with his own style if he was just ripping off of his contemporaries as it's uniquely absurd.
>>219133016>Majority of the book is filler and describing landscapesfirst Cormac McCarthy book huh?
>>219133049No, but it's gonna be my last. I'd rather read Pynchon or Infinite Jest.
>>219132999I'm sure the Judge is just a huge pale white guy because Cormac used randomize on the RPG character maker.
>>219131898Why do you need one?>>219132662>insists upon itselfGet a real argument, retard
Thought I read some comic adaption but I can't find it, or I'm MIXED UP
>>219133076Dumbass
>>219133041I dont mean reread a specific author to rip off writing style but to UNDERSTAND writing style patterns, once you get a hang of authors and thier patterns, then you can learn to develop your own, at least thats what I think
>>219132500>"the real Blood Meridian was le WHITE* man all along" ftfy
>>219131898We dont need none
>>219132500You missed>Le sumptuous description of the landscape of the American Southwest/Mexico
The audiobook is better than any movie adaptation would be. Just listen to that instead
scheiß cumans 1h progress weg drecks spiel junge
>>219131995He did a cool concept trailer but it lacked the judge.
>>219132642The Richard poe audio book might be for you. Great voice narration.
>>219132500>t. Nicholas Sparks
>>219132979I came to this realization when I went back to dune and rediscovered new insights that I could gleam on the reread. Same with the stand. I first read it as a teen with no internet and now as an adult with online access with life experience im able to digest more of the world. The covid pandemic is also a new facet that I can bring into the reading experience.
>>219133161Is this ai?
>>219131961yes the book is hard for ESL
>>219134100The real hidden gem is the Lego version with the audio book. It is perfection. *chef's kiss.
>>219134418Dont be obtuse, its fmdifgicult for anyone. Id wager if you presented to a college instructor in english they would throw it away in disgust just for that.
>>219134482>fmdifgicultYou're proving his point
>>219134482hes obviously lying, 8/10 can't read that book, maybe 9
So can I make constant off-topic posts by doing the "WHERE'S THE ADAPTATION" shtick?
>>219131898you can't just heckin adapt le raping of kids!!
>>219134436https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNz-Q8HX6C0kino!
>>219134927They should ask your father to direct. He's an expert at this.
>>219131995Franco completely botched Child of God (one of McCarthy’s short novels) and was essentially disowned from any collaboration by McCarthy. He fucked around with it for a few years then when he got metoo’d realized it probably wasn’t going to happen and let it go. New Regency has the rights now and a serious effort was underway with McCarthy’s input until he died, there hasn’t been any substantial update since 2024.
>>219134482>>219134524What the fuck?! I didnt type that.
>>219135367'fraid you did, friendo
>>219132833>the audiobook
Just watch the essay by windy goon or whatever (the guy with the drunkard beard)(not the jew)
>>219131898Edgelord slop
>>219131898People aren't going to be able to get through the anti-americanism with a war about to happen.I actually love McCarthys take on America its probably the best possible, its not because White people are inherently evil or some bullshit, its because everyone was there with a greedy purpose and desires. America doesn't exist to be a force of good its a force of nature manifested. Or something like that.
>>219131898
>>219131898Clancy Brown would've made a kino Judge Holden back in the day. Who could convincingly pull it off now?
>>219138506The Swede from Hell on Wheels
>>219135367lol it happnes to me all th e fucking time
>>219138022They are making a Gundam wing with Sweeney so that might be me.
>>219138506AI Brando from Apocalypse Now
>>219131961Cormac is the most overrated author of all time. His whole shtick was virtually no punctuation and abusing the thesaurus to show off his 60,000 word vocabulary. Blood Meridian is the most overrated “classic” novel in American history
>>219131898Sneed Chuckridian
The adaptation would be a let down, how the fuck are you supposed to adapt something like this>A legion of horribles, hundreds in number, half naked or clad in costumes attic or biblical or wardrobed out of a fevered dream with the skins of animals and silk finery and pieces of uniform still tracked with the blood of prior owners, coats of slain dragoons, frogged and braided cavalry jackets, one in a stovepipe hat and one with an umbrella and one in white stockings and a bloodstained wedding veil and some in headgear or cranefeathers or rawhide helmets that bore the horns of bull or buffalo and one in a pigeontailed coat worn backwards and otherwise naked and one in the armor of a Spanish conquistador, the breastplate and pauldrons deeply dented with old blows of mace or sabre done in another country by men whose very bones were dust and many with their braids spliced up with the hair of other beasts until they trailed upon the ground and their horses' ears and tails worked with bits of brightly colored cloth and one whose horse's whole head was painted crimson red and all the horsemen's faces gaudy and grotesque with daubings like a company of mounted clowns, death hilarious, all howling in a barbarous tongue and riding down upon them like a horde from a hell more horrible yet than the brimstone land of Christian reckoning, screeching and yammering and clothed in smoke like those vaporous beings in regions beyond right knowing where the eye wanders and the lip jerks and drools.90% of the beauty is in the language
>>219139052>200 word run-on sentence sans punctuation and full of words no one knows is beautiful Peak pretentiousness
>>2191391193/10 bait
>>219138022>monsternever seen a more botched ending to a kino show in my life, worst send off ever
>>219139052>not using a.ithats literally how hollywood will die, some chinese programmer will feed the whole novel into his software, itll produce a film and variant versions, post on to the internet for free, put a small pay for illegal streaming service that you can use via vpn, kinoverse is comin
>>219139052The guy who directed the cell and the fall could do it.
>>219139135Not bait. Cormac sucks and only pretentious dweebs like his writing I bet you like jazz too lol
>>219131898dooood you could NEVER make an adaptation of this dood its so fucked up and shit bro hollyWOKE would never dood
>>219131898Finding the right actor to play Judge Holden. No one could pull it off.
>>219131961The first page fried my brain and i still struggled by the end.But it really is a good book.
>>219132500>rapeI don't think any rape explicitly happens. It's more of a you fill in the blanks case.
>>219131898this kind of fiction is for butch gays.
>>219139119This faggot got worked by the heel author KWAB
>>219142032Did your two moms tell you that?
