I've only seen her in Prison Break and she is so adorable. Almost can't take her seriously due to how cute she is. Does she play naughty/evil roles too?

It's because you're a furry.
Prominent front teeth -> actress looks like a bunny -> neurons activated because you watched a lot of cartoons with those sexy bunnies/squirrels etc. during your childhood.
I blame Disney.
>>
>>219134221
Does she hate her hair? Seems like she has no qualms with shortening it and even going bald

Kinda a shame.
Would be interesting with more focus on dark comedy and 18+ rating.

She was even called (Rebecca) Adler, they were trying to hammer that "House=Holmes, get it?!" theme in the first few eps.
>>

Apparently showing people tortured and dying in very gory ways is not 18+ but showing breasts or simulated sex acts is. American puritanical idiocy.

It's nothing extraordinary if you have watched many procedurals. Guy with keen observation skills assists police while overall arc is him hunting the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter.
The main draw is Simon Baker's acting and charm. Plus the chemistry of the team is pretty good. Lisbon is very cute too.
>>
>>219139497
Ugh so another police/solving crime drama? How much humor is there?

She was mean to everyone.
IICR, she was the punk girl of the group and she was confrontational. She tried to kill herself after her boyfriend broke up with her the night before and showed up to work like nothing happened.
She wasn't mean to Liv Taylor's character, rather she called out her hypocrisy of perfection, but she was there to help her when Liv had her own mental breakdown, likely because she was older and Liv was still in school. It was a good character among a memorable cast and movie.
>>

>>219139845
it's not haha funny, but it is comfy and may make you chuckle once in a while. has some drama, but it is not as dark as The Shield or something. It is similar to Castle in that it all depends on how you like the lead and the team, but the crime of the week can still be an interesting little case. The overarching story has more impact, but pops up only infrequently before its crescendo season.

The last one I tried to watch was Lucifer thinking it was something better and it left a bitter taste for me so I'm kinda apprehensive
>>
>>219139238
The Mentalist has a very good aesthetic of a California that's mostly white and even old money. Unlike other police shows, you rarely have to deal with LaQueesha's antics, rather just a bunch of old hippies. The visual aspects of the show are also very colorful and even cheerful despite they're all trying to catch a serial killer.
Patrick's shenanigans are funny due to how he interact with the cast. They see him as a fraud and he himself says psychists aren't real, yet he fools them and outsmarts a lot of people. The cast is good too and each character has their own personality and they're real characters.
>>
>>219134005
>Watch the Mentalist, it's peak comfy.
I made the horrible mistake of trying to watch Scarpetta because the Mentalist had a role in it.

HOLY SHIT DO NOT DO THE SAME. It is the worst crap imaginable.
>>
Season 5 of the Mentalist has Pedro Pascal back when he was always cast as generic white dude.

>>219140270
That was good. My fav ending was with the serial killer who was passing as an investigator and Patrick got Red John to kill him.
>>
>>219139497
>>219140807
It is exactly all of this
I think the main guy is hilarious, but the rest is just comfy and likeable
>>
>>219134303
It's because teeth like that give a youthful allearance. Children suckle which often pushes the front teeth out as they grow
>>
>>219140764
yeah, that was disappointing. I liked most of his performance (except for the very literal "what is your desire" part) but when they go more into what heaven is actually like and basically every character is somehow supernatural in the end, it is quite annoying. Lot's of hot chicks though.
Are you looking for a lighter show or more drama or what?

>>219140819

Because of this movie she had to wear a wig in “The Craft”. It’s pretty obvious in the scene where she used magic to change her hair color (just a wig swap).
>>
>>219140807
>and each character has their own personality and they're real characters.
and unlike most shows they don't switch them out a lot. Van Pelt comes in a bit later and is missing for half a season or so when the actress was pregnant, but the rest of the team stays together for the run of the show iirc.
>>

There is a procedural with Rainn Wilson as a cigar chomping, misanthropic detective, Backstrom, which only got one season so not too much of an investment.
If you like the more straight up strange characters and situational comedy of the Cohens, there is always Fargo.
Justified has a great mix of cool and grit, but is quite fun as well.
Slow Horses is about spies, but also a great show that has a funny misanthropic genius and a solid story per series.
>>
>>219141555
Thank you, you're a man of culture.
>>
>>219141555
>If you like the more straight up strange characters and situational comedy of the Cohens, there is always Fargo.
Which is unfortunately shit. The only reason to watch is the season with Dunst's floppers. And she doesn't even have them anymore, dumb cunt.
>>
>>219141180
Which allows them to develop well.
Unlike other shows forcing characters to be funny and quirky, each of them is well written.
Cho used to be part of a gang until he saw a friend dying (iicr), joined the army, and became a cop. Now he's stoic and observant.
Rigsby is chaotic due to his father's, now he's still messy, but heart is in the right place.
Van Pelt is the youngest and naive at the beginning. She is a believer who thinks psychics are real, even when Jane claims he's not such. She toughens up, but she still is sensitive towards the victims.
Then, Theresa ain't some girl boss. She's strong because her mother died when she was young so she had to take care of her brothers and sacrifice many in her life. She's a tomboy but she's also feminine and nurturing, but also can deal with annoying kids as Patrick often behaves.
You rarely have characters fleshed up like this. They just tell you what they're meant to be.
>>
>>219141872
but without their private drama taking too much time away from the main plots. NCIS was also good at that part, though not all the characters had great backgrounds and they had some churn over the years.
Too many other shows then give all the side characters too much personal stuff to be busy with, but in the Mentalist you have Jane and Lisbon's will they wont they, you have Van Pelt and Rigsby and only Cho has some stuff going on that takes away from the main crew. And even that is not too much.
>>
>>219139041
I watched 6 episodes and hated it. Nothing is going on, there's no overarching story, it's just slice of life
>>
>>219144773
To add onto this, it just felt like Dexter but shittier. You know how in every season(at least the early ones) the formula is that he does a kill per episode then deals with his day job life and while both of these are happening there's also a bigger story going on in season 1 being the ice truck killer.
In Mentalist it's just his day job, that's it. There's nothing to look forward to, it's just one guy being smart. I would 100% watch it if it released today weekly but when it's all completed AND it has like 9 seasons? Fuck no, complete waste of time. It's a shame since the actors and chars are really good but no wonder it's not more popular
>>
>>219144773
I hope for you they were random episodes and you never read the episode titles. Only retards wouldn't notice the overarching plot otherwise.
>>
>>219144894
>waste of time.
it is peak comfy

>>219144962
that too
>>
>>219144962
Yes dude it's obviously about Red John but they go 4+ episodes without mentioning him, he doesn't matter at all. I searched who he actually is and they obviously didn't think it mattered at all, easily the worst reveal in a show like it.
>>
>>219145094
bullshit. most shows wrap their initial mystery/motivation after season 2 OR they pull endless contradictory herrings out of their mystery box.
Sure, The Mentalist has maybe 4 eps per season where the Red John plot gets advanced, later more, but then they have a full season just on this and while convoluted, it is far less retarded than a Blacklist or something
>>
>>219145094
Well yeah, it's like X-Files where the monster-of-the-week episodes are better and outnumber by a lot the main plot ones. If after a few episodes you don't find the show comfy then you never will, to each their own.
>>
>>219141259
