For a long time seeing it as just a good but run of the mill action flick, I have come to the conclusion that the Matrix is easily one of the top 5 best films of all time. I usually don’t like seeing the same film over and over again but something about it is infinitely rewatchable and unique, a certain unexplainable je ne se quois. In a word, true kino.

maybe top 5 future action flick
>>
>>219135865
THE POSTER SHOULD BE GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yuen Woo Ping's fight choreography is what makes these movies good to me, without him they'd just be mediocre high concept scifi.
>>
>>219135865
It has a tight structure and doesn't fuck around wasting time. Everything that pays off is set up and maintains coherence within the story and world, not just set ups that never go anywhere and random contrivances that the plot needs put of nowhere like modern dogshit writing. Plus it has timeless themes and just cool sci-fi premises and action that still hold up.
>>
it totally changed action movies

Give me a late 90s early 00s cool girl gf
>>
It's hard for me to take it seriously after that one trooned out because of gooning and drug addiction and the other one had to do the same to make his brother not look like a laughing stock
>>
>>219135865
its a great film. Solid action, solid sci fi, solid philosophy, It did pretty much everything right. And the visuals were ground breaking at the time
>>
>>219136686
all great artists are insane
>>
>>219136686
you sound like a whinny little bitch. I bet you have your finger on the pulse of what /tv/ labels as reddit just to make sure you dont like the "wrong" thing
>>
>>219136686
They didn't troon out until after the matrix. I think also after Speed Racer. So you can hate the troons for Matrix 4.

Hey Larry
>>
>>219136686
Some people take the red pill but can't handle it and break in one way or another, like Cypher in the movie.
>>
>>219135865
Now go watch The Animatrix for even more kino
>>
>>219136089
>>219135926
>>219135865
Yea that’s fine and all but it literally ripped off about 10 different IPs which makes it an unoriginal over marketed piece of hollywood trash
>>
>>219136928
You seem genuinely offended as if you yourself trooned out, autistic freak
>>
>>219136686
>creative people are weird and quirky
suprise! i dont see your pasty straight white ass coming up with anything original
>>
>>219136918
This. Troons are unironically highly mentally ill/autistic men and many of them are genuine savants and extremely skilled as a result. Doesn’t mean you have to pretend they’re not mentally ill, if anything I think that actually demeans them. The insane, mentally broken great artist archetype is a classic example of the complexity of the human condition, reducing these legitimately mind broken freaks with unique and genuine talent to just being totally legit normal guys who are actually chicks is pretty gay.

Welcome to 1999, bro.
>>
>>219135865
I watched all three again after not seeing any for 15 years. The first is excellent, the other 2 arent bad films... but holy fuck does the third just devolve into capeslop.
>>
>>219137848
What did they rip off?

Wachowskis, Wendy Carlos, sewerslvt, the troon from 100 gecs. Obviously far from even most trannies are particularly talented people but as mentally ill men, but still men at the end of the day, some do in fact have the masculine capacity to create.
>>
>>219139417
You forgot the most famous ones, SOPHIE and Arca.
>>
>>219139885
>>219139417
So you mean great art for mentally ill teenagers? I have to say that list is embarrassing

You can't even count.

Where is the extreme skill you mentioned, these are the best examples? You just googled random trannies in the entertainment industry to help your argument didn’t you
>>
>>219143724
One word smartass: fuck you.
>>
>>219135865
As long as you completely ignore the unnecessary sequels, then yeah, it's a genuinely fantastic movie.
>>
>>219135865
What i'm more surprised about these movies is how fast they were made
in barely 5 years, they got a full trilogy, and they were pushing things compared to everyone else, this really give these movies a distinct identity as they were all made around the same time
this would be IMPOSSIBLE today, even though we should know how to make things faster and there's even more tools available

If you only watch the in-matrix fight scenes and skip everything else they're pretty enjoyable
>>
>>219139417
I still can't figure out if sewerslvt actually invented anything. I also can't tell if I like the music or not. It's so weird. It's like it's right on the border between novel and derivative. Very strange artist. Would love for someone more in the know about dnb/jungle/breakcore to tell me whether they were significant or cancer

It has so many layers...
The hylic thinis it's about "Wooow epic movie with epic fights and shootings!"
The apprentice thinks it's about "Wooow dude what if the world was actually a simulation???"
The wizard thinks it's about "Wooow dude the red and blue pills are a representation of Plato's cave and the rest of the characters, places, and vehicles are mythological symbols wooow"
Then the archimage thinks it's about "Wooow dude this is Baudrillard's work of semiotic "Simulation and Simulacra" taken to the extreme!!"
I remember there were even more layers but I forgor

I literally did a reference to it but I forgot the layer of gnosticism, I'm retarded
The sorcerer thinks "Wooow dude what if our universe was created by an evil being and our main purpose is to escape from it thanks to the help of the chosen one??"
