Yet it was when they lampooned a faith that had no problem bombing Comedy Central HQ on a whim, that's where they learned where the limits of their free speech laid. Downhill after that.

They still are good comedy writers, they just stopped caring about the quality as much as they cared about making money off the brand they built. Serialization was the spiritual death of South Park, I thought the jump to streaming for the specials would kill the brand but they made a return to network television just in time to do the one thing they said they wouldn't do and only make fun of Trump. I don't mean in relation to other politicians either, I mean there's no joke that isn't related to Donald Trump. They just don't have any vision for the future. There was a time where they thought they could make South Park forever and then there was a day when they realized they couldn't, and it showed.
