He pissed me off in Is This Thing On. His character was fucking insufferable. Great foil to Will Arnett's character.
>>
>>219154291

he's a good actor which is why his emboggening is frustrating, it'll make his roles inauthentic from now on
>>

peaked in The Hangover. the leonard bernstein biopic was embarrassing
>>
>>219153728
Silving Linings is over a decade ago. It's the only decent film he's in. Now he's just an over acting methodcow. Thta has to teach himself conducting for years just to produce an oscar bait that flopped

He directed that one, so I think he willingly took the shit role to make Will Arnett shine. Not totally necessary since Arnett is a great actor, too.

>What ever happened to Bradley Cooper?

Bradley Cooper decided it was high time he won himself some Oscars. So he took it upon himself to write, direct and star in a biopic about Leonard Bernstein, some composer no one really gives a shit about.

The movie bombed disastrously, grossing a total of $300,000 on a budget of $80 million. It won Cooper a total of zero Oscars and didn't even manage to net one measly Golden Globe.

For Cooper, it was entirely over.

Maestro is post-#metoo. Bernstein was the Kevin Spacey/Harvey Weinstein of classical music. Tár came out a year before Maestro and is a scathing commentary on what if a lesbian pulls a Leonard Bernstein psycho sex pest thing, with Lenny being her conducting idol. Bradley Cooper glosses over the prolific sex pest stuff in Maestro a year later. Why he chose to make a film about the prototype for Lydia Tár post-#metoo is baffling. Kevin Spacey didn’t get away with it career wise after he was exposed, what made Cooper think Hollywood would forget Tár, *and* forgive Bernstein?

Bernstein is one of the most famous music conductors of the 20th century, but the pool of people who give a shit about that is a dying upper class elite who were around when he was alive and some classical music enthusiasts, neither group would be inclined to watch some midwits biopic of him

That's because it was on Netflix with only a few theater openings. it wasn't a theater only film.
>>
>>219158159
>The movie bombed disastrously, grossing a total of $300,000 on a budget of $80 million
Because it was released in only like eight (8) theatres in the USA to qualify for awards. It's literally a Netflix movie.
>>
>>219163977
$80 million sounds like a lot, but Netflix makes around $3.25 billion in revenue per month. Why would they care if it bombs at the box-office?

>>219158159
>The movie bombed disastrously
It's a Netflix movie that only released in a few theatres so it could say it's not a TV film. It has good reviews, also
>Cooper's use of a large prosthetic nose to portray Bernstein, who was Jewish, was criticized by some as an example of "Jewface"

>some composer no one really gives a shit about.
TV made him famous, generations of musicians and music enthusiasts watched his lessons.

Top kek is Bradley Cooper actually having a meltdown on /tv/?

Maybe he's one of those celebrities who obsessively googles himself and he found this thread. I know he's famously butthurt about Maestro flopping so I wouldn't be at all surprised.

>>

Sup B-Rad. I hear you're a massive homo. Can you confirm these rumors?
>>
>>219165199
No! I'm very straight! I love the same things as all you straight men, like light beer, broadway musicals, women's bosoms, etc. Here's a question for you: if I were a filthy homosexual, why did I turn down Ken Jeong when he propositioned me on the set of the Hangover?
>>
>>219153728
>The fat, loud type. That is an American.
FTFY kid
>>
>>219165249

>>
Why do people here dislike Cooper? I think he's got real screen charisma, he's especially good at got comedic-manic-brash roles (Crashers, SLP, Hustle, Licorice Pizza). He also did real well as an "auteur debutante" on ASIB. It's been a while since he's starred in anything good though and the boggening is really quite regrettable, dude should've let himself age gracefully.

Yup, my roommate in college was in theater the whole time we were there, the director of his troupe would pick and fuck a different girl, usually the lead, every year. Wasn't subtle about it either and would go hard at the beginning of the year to bully all the cast and crew into submission.
>>
>>219153728
I think he saw franco getting cancelled and didn't want to end up as hollywood sex pest who made some retarded comedy films

>continuously pressure woman for dates and “consensual” sex
>eventually she gives in just to shut you up
This is rape btw.
>>
>>219175365
i wasn't privy to the details as I never bothered to go see any of the plays, also my roommate was lovesick with this one girl (the reason he enrolled in the troupe in the first place) who ended up sleeping with the director our last year so he might have embellished it although that was the directors reputation on campus so i dunno. Dude looked like Gaspard Ulliel if you know who that is, but with a Willem Dafoe intense wordless stare.
I mostly kept my head down and drunk in college so I only learned about how teachers were fucking students all the time by my third year.
