What am I in for?
mostly water, then jungle, then fire and ash
>>219179285Lots of whales.
>>219179285A retread of the way of water. It has its moments and is done very well. But it just left me feeling annoyed that the story has barely progressed. For all its spectacle and wow factor, we're still limited to relatively small-scale battles that have no real impact on the future of Pandora. And yes, there's ANOTHER fight between Jake and Quarritch where neither of them die because this franchise is basically a stupidly expensive saturday morning cartoon at this point. This should've been Dunc before Dunc was made, but with wonder and blue aliens. Instead it's just cgi fauna and na'avi waifus.
Avatar 2 and 3 were originally written as one big story, which was split into two parts as it got too long for one film. It certainly shows here, as Avatar 3 recycles a lot of ideas from 2. Varang (the new villainess) is the highlight, and should've gotten more screen time.
>>219180755did they really need to split it? This move was barely a success, so I'm not sure they'll make more at this point. They planned 5
>>219179285forgettable cgi slop
Getting boners when they show old white guy arm pits
>>219179285It's a decent ride. My #1 issue with it is it ends abruptly and gives you little to no idea of how much the big finale mattered and what the new status quo is, which is a strange choice when it's supposed to be a trilogy capper with uncertainty over whether more Avatars will be made. On the positive side, it has things like what I saw as an effective callback to picrel in T2 where Sarah almost kills Miles Dyson, with similar stakes and motivation. >I can't... let that happen
>>219181138Yes, they did. And yes, Cameron will make more.
>>219180755It really shows. They feel like they should have been one film. But FaA repeats so much of TWoW that it seems weird that they had to even split it? Also, neither films ends conclusively with much having changed, so I'd argue they need a better, proper epilgoue.
>>219181453>it's supposed to be a trilogy capper with uncertainty over whether more Avatars will be madeYou fell for clickbait
Honestly, the film felt like filler.
>>219181686Even if more Avatars do get made, it's still a trilogy or duology capper which could have ended better. Since we're probably in for a long wait- if series tradition holds, Avatar 4 would get delayed again at least once and be at least another 5 years away
gonna do my tradition of dusting off my old ipod touch and watching this torrent on 480p as cameron intended
>>219181941>I didn’t fall for clickbait, I’m just an utter moron namedrop a few ecelebs next to hammer it home.
>>219183006(You)
>>219179285Avatar 2 part 2The whole Fire and Ash part is wasted potential. Is there just to justify bad guy "shift". The worst part imho is that they went full retarded with the "spiritual world" and the mystery around it is lost.
>>219183167Nice selfie.
>>219179285Way of Water>entire movie is about water, water tribe, even dumbass talking whales, half of it takes place underwaterFire and Ash>there's a fire tribe that just becomes generic mook villains and a couple things explode, honestly still probably more water in this one
>>219179285A disappointing lack of man vs nature, and a rehash of part 2 but with a new sexier catgirl.
>>219186148I bet that was funnier in your head
