This movie is honestly so mediocre.

But a devoted crowd promote it as being the greatest film of all time. How can this be?
>>
It's Terry Gilliam's most normalfag friendly film

I really wanted to like the one with robin williams
>>
Any time travel story involving a bootstrap paradox is a bad time travel story
>>
The tv show is way worse
>>

I was too young to appreciate it when it came out in cinemas in the 90s. The marketing campaign made you expect another action packed Bruce Willis thriller. It's not that. But rewatching it as a grown up made me better appreciate it.
>>
I've never seen/heard anyone say 12 monkey is the 'greatest film of all time'.
It's pretty good sure, Brad Pitt and Bruce are fun in it but never heard it referred to like that.

Also in hindsight it's really reminds me of like Planet of the Apes
>>
Stowe is a major class babe in this
>>
Brad Pitt was cringe
>>
>>219188247
Is brad pitt's cartoonish villain who ruins it, shitass villains like so were very common in 90s movies

Go watch the original short film were this movie was based from, infinite times better.

I could see it. I think it's a very good movie

surely that would be time bandits, no?
>>
>>219188247
It's one of my favorites.
Also one of the scariest endings of any movie. What's stopping something like that from happening in real life?
>>
>>219193314
Brad Pitt is the villain?
>>
no one is saying it's the greatest film of all time. it's a comedic sci-fi film with an aesthetic that doesn't exist anymore. films like this are not made anymore because brain-rotted zoomers can't understand how a tone can be comedic and serious at the same time (the last film I remember like this was Furiosa and that flopped bad)
>>
>>219197549
Where's the comedy?
>>
>>219198365
A mental patiant who is actually telling the truth is a pretty funny premise. Pitt, obviously, the staircase harrangue is classic. The pimp. Id say the woman causing the virus release is pretty funny too
>>
>>219192987
One of a kind, truly
>>
>>219196199
Surely it's not.
>>
>>219198720
You forgot Willis' porno stache
>>
>>219198720
by that logic the andromeda strain is a comedy film because ruth makes sarcastic comments
>>
>>219198365
the entire premise is funny.
>>
this was kino and rewatch it all the time
>>
>>219198989
There's humour to be found in many places anon. Let your logic rest a moment perhaps >>219198903 gets it
>>
theres plenty of funny moments in the nut house. they are watching this oldschool cartoons and fucking pitt says some bullshit and you hear a BOING from the tv set.

I was confused, is there a chance for the ending to not be sad with more loops? Or is it the same sad event repeating over and over? I don't know how time travel works. I prefer happy endings.

Im pretty sure Fear and loathing is more popular and Fisherman is normie

>>219188247
love this movie but I can see that it drags too much and people with adhd cant follow it, still it got several great scenes
>>
>>219198887
Never met a person who saw time bandits. I swear i remember finding it at the library and it had multiple vhs tapes to it.

I loved it when I watched it, I should rewatch it to see if it holds up (I'm sure it will).
