>>219190706It made sense at the time, since TNG Star Trek had gone through 21 straight seasons of story progression and a prequel was warranted to keep things fresh. It just ate itself alive with a poor opening season and a head writer coming in adapting a discarded series plot with time travel. If it was allowed to have the fifth season it earned it would be seen far more positively. I’m just surprised that with all the stupid Star Trek series paramount has been throwing money at they never thought to bring in old writers to give the series the conclusion they had clearly planned
