Ive realized I have no problem with black people in period drama when it is portrayed with any semblance acknowledgment and without going full cartoon with the characterization of the era.
This is pretty much the only time they mention her race in the two-partner and it weirdly adds a layer of complexity to her place in the setting without even mentioning it in the following 90 minutes
