And Veidt would be leading all the peace efforts since he can "see Manhatten's energy signature" so Veidt would make sure they are all playing nice. Veidt is still stuck in a fantasy, trying to save the planet. Manhattan is out of this world already, what's good about killing thousands to save millions, kill millions to save billions... It never ends. Veidt seems to think the Cold War is the ultimate human conflict, but things just go on, moments of peace and war.
