Every single Gen Xer I've met has had the same exact world view which is "If something bothers you, just don't let it!" as if you can magically will yourself to not react to external stimuli. They are the type of people who need constant drama in their lives, but then hypocritically tell others to walk away from conflicts. It's incredibly frustrating because it's just nihilism. No one exists in a vacuum, we aren't capable of being stoic autists 24/7. According to Gen Xers, though, you're supposed to not care about anything ever and if they start seething about dumb shit then suddenly that's justified. I suspect this is why Gen X never gets criticized for anything because they'd just pretend to be above it all. No point even engaging with someone like that.
