>>
Hard working people are losing their jobs and you’re happy?

There was a time when I thought JJ was actually good for Hollywood. I remember liking Super 8, Cloverfield and even his Star Trek movies. God was I naive.

Years ago, this nigga was being hailed as the next Spielberg. How many of these fucking directors did everybody think were gonna be so fucking big, and then they just wound up sputtering out? There were people who ACTUALLY thought J.J. Abrams was gonna be as big as Nolan.
>>
>>219272262
Yep. Even Shyamalan was supposed to be the next Spielberg once upon a time.

Based Rian wrecked this guy's career forever. LOL
>>
>>219272262
It's ridiculous how Hollywood tries to make a superstar out of someone who is mediocre at best. JJ will always be known as the guy who knows how to start something. But, could never wrap things up in a meaningful or enjoyable way.
>>
>>219273759
He can't wrap things up because he has nothing interesting to say, so his stories never have a conclusion or any kind of meaning.
>>
>>219273759
>it's s ridiculous how Hollywood tries to create stars
So many superstars have mid talent. Kevin Costner, Richard Gere, even Dicaprio. This is nothing special.
>>
>>219272518
Pretty sure that was canned
>>
>>219268344
GOOD.
>>
>>219273759
>mediocre at best.

Abrams’ career has been very successful.
>>
They should update the dictionary with his picture under the word "HACK".
>>
>>219275164
We’re not talking about his “career.” We’re talking about his output.
>>
>>219268410
He has a very prominent bifid nasal tip.

>born in New York City to two TV producers*
>parents moved the family to LA when he was 5
>when he was 16, Steven Spielberg* hired him to repair and catalog his old Super 8 films
>went to a private college in NYC which was also attended by Brian De Palma, Adam Goldberg*, Carrie Fisher*, Rahm Emanuel*, Jordan Peele and Barbara Walters*
>while in college, he teamed with Jill Mazursky*, the daughter of award-winning writer/director Paul Mazursky*, to write a feature film treatment (not a full script, basically just a 15-20 page Wikipedia plot entry)
>they sold it to Touchstone Pictures (a production label of Walt Disney Studios overseen by Jeffrey Katzenberg*)
>it became a movie called Taking Care of Business which was directed by Arthur Hiller* and starred James Belushi and and Charles Grodin*
>he then co-wrote Regarding Henry which was produced by Scott Rudin*, directed by Mike Nichols* and starred Harrison Ford*
>he got first first TV show, Felicity, on air through Touchstone Television (overseen by Jeffrey Katzenberg*) and WB Network (overseen by Jordan Levin*, Susanne Lieberstein Daniels* and Jamie Kellner)
>then he created Alias, again for Touchstone Television
>next he co-created Lost with Damon Lindelof* and Jeffrey Lieber*
>Brad Grey*, CEO of Paramount Pictures, handed him his first film directing gigs Mission Impossible III and Star Trek
>his mentor Spielberg* produced Super 8
>got the Star Wars gig because Kathleen Kennedy was Spielberg's long-time producer from E.T. to Lincoln
>>
>>219276425
>Alias
Oh shit I remember that
It was always stringing you along with some Da Vinci Code type plot arc

Funny how they're all Jewish
>>
>>219275891
You don’t get that successful with mediocrity and then stay on top for long. People loved Lost for ages and just got upset that the answers weren’t ultimately satisfying. Felicity was a good show. Alias was a very fun until the later seasons when you had to deal with Gardner being pregnant etc. Fringe wasn’t mediocre. He was a director and then a producer on several popular Mission:Impossible movies. Regarding Henry is still a great movie. Forever Young still holds up.

He isn’t as successful as Spielberg. So what. Nobody can be Spielberg the same way nobody can be Hitchcock.
>>
>>219277008
Signing off on it or agreeing with it in any way is enough to merit total chuddery
>>
Jews couldn't stand that George Lucas a goyim made the most successful franchise so they brought it and kill it
>>
>>219277142
>You don’t get that successful with mediocrity and then stay on top for long

Unless you're part of the tribe like Abrams
>>
>>219272582
he really did cuck guys like hamill and jew jew
>>
>>219268344
Didn't WB pay him 500 million to do basically nothing, what happened to that money?
>>
>>219268344
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>219268344
HOW BOW DA you NIGGER!!
>>
>>219273759
That means he steal stories , lol. That's why he can't wrap them up later
>>
>>219268344
his confidence actually did get shot by screwing up Star Wars so badly.
>>
>>219268862
I didn't even like Lost. suck it.
>>
>>219277475
He was one of the marquee signings (((Zaslav))) made to make WB more attractive to buyers. Imagine you paying a prostitute to pretend to be your lover in public so that other women will want to fuck you, that's basically what the 250 million was for.
>>
>>219276425
>he then co-wrote Regarding Henry which was produced by Scott Rudin*, directed by Mike Nichols* and starred Harrison Ford*
>he got first first TV show, Felicity

there's a really big gap of 7 years between these two, btw. not really an uninterrupted rise to the top.
>>
>>219268410
You are inciting violence with this comment, I have reported you to the ADL.
>>
>>219278417
Ok, but where's the money, JJ
>>
>>219278443
>>219278417
always been the case that the worst thing you can do in hollywood is get attached to things that don't get made. keeping something in development isn't free even when you're not paying a full production company to fail to make anything for years.
>>
>>219277376
Or you know, he has a proven track record of making popular movies and tv shows
>>
>>219277475
Since signing that WB deal in 2019 Abrams’ production company, Bad Robot, has produced half a dozen tv shows for WB as well as been involved in developing numerous different film projects for Warner, two of which are coming out later this year. It’s more WB who has been unable to move forward with more projects that Bad Robot has been developing for them, since they are the ones who have to give green light for any project to move forward from mere development.
>>
>>219278491
He also has a proven record of his ancestry
