You cannot just show something like this in full artic lighting and not have it ruin the atmosphere of the show or film. Honestly, the show would have been perfect as just the descent into chaos and fear the real crew likely encountered, and skip the supernatural nonsense.

Most episodes it was off screen or you could barely see it and it worked fine. Even when it was shown, it wasn't as bad as anons pretend.
