It isn’t abandonment when you work as a producer on several different active projects at once and you let other people run shows while you shift focus on other stuff. That’s what JJ does. He develops stuff, has some level of involvement in the creation of it, maybe even directs an episode or two and then lets the show do its thing as he oversees it in the background and he’s off to something else. He is the co-CEO of Bad Robot, he can’t run everything at once.
