>Daleks!
Actual good doctor who alert
>>219282698What I want is The Evil of the Daleks. 7-part serial, only 1-part existing. Even with the shitty reconstruction animation it is absolute kino of a story. I want to see the art deco esque Dalek Emperor beyond just stills.
>>219282698Is this more found, or just the ones that got found however many days/weeks back?
Any rips of these episodes? I want to update my classic Dr. Who folders.
>>219284908They're on iplayer, youtube and dailymotion.
>>219284884They're the two missing episodes discovered a couple of months ago but only made available today.
Doctor Who is in such a weird place. Clearly there is interest still in the franchise that people can get hyped for lost episodes being found, but the actual show over the last several years is dead, there is not hope for the future of the show, and there is not even the creativity stuff of the Wilderness Years being created. I suppose it all just goes to show how tragic what happened to it is and how retarded the BBC are for utterly killing it.
>>219285190RTD ran it into the ground. The fact that it got worse after the "You are just a male-presenting Time Lord" thing is pretty impressive.
>>219285230>RTD ran it into the ground. It was already in the ground before that. Timeless Child did huge damage. Maybe it could have worked if culture was different and with better writers but, making the Doctor also did damage and especially how just poor her run was in general. Even under 12th, however much people may like him and good episodes there are there, you can point to problems. There is just that many small bad things that accumulated and multiple huge bad things.
>>219285190RTD is literally out there now saying it's a gay show, it was always a gay show, and people arguing with him about it have been "radicalised".He doesn't seem to have the capacity (or desire) to see that he's just fucking wrong.Doctor Who, as it existed for about 50 years was a thing that the British public at large had a lot of love for, and then they turned it into something different. If they ever just changed it back, people would watch it again. it's not that hard to understand this.
>>219285349There was hope that RTD was going to come back, and right ship, and he did not.
>>219286568I do wonder if this was the biggest catalyst. We were at a low point and elevated RTD to a high pedestal. Not only did he not reach it but he also took the show to new lows
>>219282698niceee, the 1st doctor was kino and I say this as a zoomer
The first Hollywood retard that decides to say fuck it and produce a reboot that very deliberately stylistically emulates the old show using old rejected scripts will print billions
>>219287542There's potential there for a modern take on what the Peter Cushing films were.Something that completely divorces itself from canon, and stylistically emulates early DW, but with a much bigger budget. Something that tries to get back to the Victorian HG Wells kind of vibes.Select well regarded episodes, and remake them. Recast the Doctor whenever necessary, but don't feel the need to stick 100% to the way the show did things. You could go: Daleks -> Marco Polo -> Cybermen -> Aztecs -> The Time Meddler (rewritten slightly to feature the Master and more explicit Gallifrey lore) -> The War Games (rewritten slightly to feature the Master, and returning characters from the previous movies) -> Autons/MasterAnd so on...
>>219288098>AztecsMaybe not so much the serial is the issue, but the Aztecs just seem too controversial to deal with. It gets too much into Aztecs were the bad guys! No conquistadors were the bad guys! argument where you just end up pissing some group of.
>>219288098>The War Games (rewritten slightly to feature the MasterDo you like the theory The War Chief is The Master or are you just thinking what is more marketable or lore building if you were to start from scratch?
>>219288498I think using early Timelord stories as an excuse to build up the Master as a character would make sense. You could either have him replace the Monk as a character, or place him in the background of that story somewhere, and then just straight up have him be the War Chief, because I think the distinction between those two characters is kind of negligable. Also, it just occured to me you would maybe want to throw a modern day Earth story in before tackling Autons, so people would have context for who UNIT were.
