"Realism" is for midwits.

It was like Nolan was trying to make Batman into literature or some shit. Throw a fucking batarang! I don't want Batman to spew his life philosophy at me unprompted.
>>
>>219305196
I get why Nolan would make this a no-superpowers type world since then you'd question why Superman doesn't just fly into gotham and grab the Joker
>>
>>219305763
Superman doesn't exist in Nolan's world you goofy shitskin.
>>
>>219305902
That's the point, that I get why Nolan would make it a real world type setting except for the existence of Batman (and a few other weird things like a ninja assassin clan) since the existence of other superpowered heroes would invalidate all of that as a threat

Wasn't grounded and tacticool enough for me

The first movie does have the vibe that there maybe something supernatural out there but once we get to The Dark Knight all that stuff gets snuffed out.
>>
Meanwhile they’re the best Batman media by far
>>
>>219306389
It's not Batman it's Law & Order in a cape.
>>
>>219306426
They're James Bond movies with characters larping as Batman characters
>>
>>219306496
Craig Bond to be specific.
>>
I feel like super heroes who dont kill is a very childish idea. Criminals cant be let away with their behaviour. They need to die.
>>
>>219305196
"realism" is the point of adapting something into live action. Watch a cartoon instead if you disagree, child
>>
>>219306059
Yeah BB was definitely more comic booky than TDK
The problem with TDKR was that it attempted to mash the comic booky goofiness of BB (League of Shadows returning) with the crime thriller groundedness of TDK
>>
>>219306677
Superheroes are inherently fascistic so writers have to come up with these ridiculous rules like no guns and no killing to make them liberal leaning
>>
>>219306836
>Operating outside the law of an incompetent and corrupt justice system

>>
>>219305196
The best adaptation of the Batman mythos unironically, is the TV show Gotham which took the idea of Gotham City being a place where any insane thing can happen and ran with it.

Batman comics are at their best when they run with that idea in mind and it's a damn shame movies don't seem to go that direction
>>
>>219307295

>>

>>
>>219307249
It can be.
>>
>>219306729
>"realism" is the point of adapting something into live action
By that logic pretty much no comic book ever should be adapted to live action because their characters are inherently unrealistic
Spider-Man, X-Men, Spawn, and yes, Batman
Grounding fantastic concepts in realism is a meme that should've died out years ago
>>
>>219307529
Unironically yes because I'd rather trust a government or political organization with checks and balances like the police than one man who isn't
>But muh corrupt police
We have internal affairs offices for that. Governments aren't corrupt, individuals within them are.
>>
>>219307917
Imagine bootlicking for governments

Lemme guess, you're all about Batfleck, huh?
>>
>>219309334

Batfleck was only interesting in BVS he was awful as a regular Batman in justice league
>>
That was the CoD era. Everything had to be tacticool then
>>
>>219309433
>Adam west - Goofly era - Plays goofy batman well
>3 Serious Batman - "Dark serious tone" -Constipated face, voice and frankly everything.
>Adam West clears these shitters.
>Batfleck atleast did an insane Arkham fight
>The constipated Batmen got only the support of soimillennials and have to beg the rest of the cast to carry the movie
Lemme guess unc you're are a nostalgic manchild
>>
>>219305196
Why'd he take his rags off?
>>
>>219309433
Batfleck is what Batman should be - an unhinged, violent psycho who puts villains in the ground and has no illusion he's doing any good, that people are rotten to the core and that good is an illusion
>>
Absolutely.
Sculpted abs/body armour that makes midgets look intimidating. THAT'S how its done.

They fucked him over by saying that he was too muscular to be Batman. Do you really think Superman would be more muscular than Bateman? Superman is like naturally strong and this atmosphere would be too little to exercise his muscles properly so he would be a bit schlubby, but Batman it a highly trained Earth human with extensive physical training so he would be the peak of Human physical fitness and hypermuscular

I probably wouldn't go for that approach if I was calling the shots but I enjoyed it a lot. Same with the Arkham games to an extent.
It's cool to see how the "super" is explained with or supplanted by technology, but I was already more accustomed to a more "super" version of Batman like 2004. Less time explaining how Batman is super and more on what he does with it.
On the other hand, when you know you've got weekly episodes (or many comic issues) to show off the character that way I guess you do have more freedom to build up the feats compared to the limited runtime of movies and the gaps between each.
>>
>>219305196
You're posting the batman that tried the hardest to be realist thoughverbeit
>>
>>219305196
I don't know about realism but this trilogy of movies came out at the happiest time in my life and has become something of a dire comfort rewatch for me now that everything in my life has gone to complete and utter shit.

Nolan could unironically make a great Metal Gear Solid adaptation.
>>

>>
>>219305763
No sunlight in Gotham. Superman's powers don't work there.

Chadfleck was peak Batman because he was ripped straight from TDKR. Pattinson is the worst because they took the already retarded "muh realism" approach of Nolan to absolutely ridiculous proportions.
>>
>>219318923
At least Battinson looks cool. And his Gotham looks like Gotham and not Chicago.
>>
>>219305196
Idk. There's something about the visual realism of the Nolan Batman films that *is* interesting, but it's hard for me to pin down.
I say visual realism because TDK has some ridiculous logistical problems. It falls apart if you start thinking about it.
>>
>>219319133
Maybe what it is, and this is more in BB, and really only works as an origin story, but realism might kinda work in a superhero story where you see all these "realistic" elements building towards the vision of a comic book reality, and the moment when you finally see comic book visuals on screen, it's more impressive b/c the movie took its time to build towards making that surreal imagery "real".
Maybe that's it.
>>
>>219305196
"midwit" is a cope word for the legally retarded.
>>
>>219306049
Ahh yes, a fully heat insulated suit for a man who spends his nights doing intensive physical exercise. What could be the drawback?
>>
>>219318923
Batman looking like a tank has always been retarded. He should be Michael Jordan, not Ronnie Coleman. Battison suit looks the best even if the movie was underwhelming.
>>
>>219320082
THIS. Get the batcock out let us see that shit flopping about now fucking faggots

I think he should be a muscular guy. He needs to be brawler-y enough to feasibly go toe to toe with a group of thugs. Granted he still needs to be agile enough for ninja parkour. Something like a mixture between a MMA light heavyweight build and an olympic gymnast build.

Also here is an untapped potential for realism edgelords: make batman a canon steroid user. His entire schtick is that he is physically supposed to be in peak shape. If bruce wayne is serious about being the fastest and strongest he can be to protect gotham, roiding is mandatory.
>>
It's incredible how Begins is far and away the best in the trilogy
>>
>>219319861
You can say "top of the bell curve" if you are feeling fancy
>>
>>219320086
>Battison suit looks the best

No it's Batfleck(BvS)>Battinson>Bale(begins)>Keaton>Kilmer>Clooney
