Is this any good or worth watching?
No
>>219317146>DrugslopNo
watch the 2006 movie
>>219317302Very underrated super kino. Haven't seen much of the show but I bet parts of it are great. Digital era Mann is phenomenal.
>>219317146Midgame ZOG kino1980s were an interesting time
>>219317146amerimutt slop, im afraid
>>219317331seems like it would be perfect fodder for clipping
>>219317146First two seasons are pure kino, then it starts to dip. Don't even bother touching season 5.
Surprisingly has some really interesting plots, it's pretty much worth watching for Edward James Olmos alone.
Lotta estrogenated replies hereIt's perfectly good entertainment as long as you know how to laugh at the subtle social commentary poison pills that lay like landmines in between the cop kino action bombsMy main complaint is most of the gunshot wounds are bloodless lazy and ratings-board-compliant TV bullshit deaths
>>219317146>>219317162>>219317193>>219317331>>219317455When did this board become brown
>>219317795>Edward James Olmoswonder why he never wound up in any of Mann's films.
>>219317834Well yeah, it's a 1980s TV show and is literally one of the very first things people think of when they think of the 80s.
>>219317146The two part pilot is great on it's own. The rest of the series is hit or miss, but I would recommend it still if you enjoy the 80's vibe.
>>219317834Tony Soprano's neighbor's wife. Pretty cute.
>>219317856He's apparently a fairly quiet life kind of guy and says no to a lot of things. Even when he was hired for Miami Vice, he had gone back to working for his fathers furniture company.
>>219317891It's almost entirely hit for the first two seasons but really becomes hit and miss after that point, it starts to really falter at season 4 and I've only ever looked at some of season 5 just once (and it's really bad). Michael Mann become part time on season 3 and left in season 4, with Dick Wolf replacing him and it just became another gritty cop show because that's all Wolf knows.
>>219317146Its good 80's kino on tv. Atmosphere is perfect. Soundtrack and lighting are exceptional, especially use of colored lighting. Individual episodes are hit or miss, same goes with some storylines that will go batshit insane at times, mostly towards the end of the show.
it's honestly great

>>219318048Crocket has a pet alligator that guards his boat/divorced man's domicile while he's away at work busting creeps, pimps, and drug pushers
>>219318251Yeah, it's great.
Jan Hammer's soundtrack is cool.
>>219317146The first two seasons are pretty entertaining. I've tried finishing the series twice and always drop around the time when Tubbs grows a beard.
>>219318608Honestly that's how it is for everyone.
>>219317146the music scenes are the highlightshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQmba21VeW4
>>219317302>>219317331dogshit compared to the show. just shows that mann didn't get the show he produced
>>219317849when Snyder and Mann became the top directors on the board
There's just something about 80s TV productions.. cozy as fuckThe 90s action movie bigger budget era is good tooHonestly I just really hate everything post-00sI'll rewatch time tested kino before I testdrive new slop
I watched a few episodes to see what the hype was about and the cop plots are way more unique and interesting than I thought they'd be. I assumed the episode plots would be predictable and generic as every other show copied it, but it was the opposite.
>>219318608>The first two seasons are pretty entertaining. I've tried finishing the series twice and always drop around the time when Tubbs grows a beard. Most TV-shows get better when someone grows a beard, Miami Vice is the opposite example.
>>219317849It's really not good except for the aesthetics.
