Kids are smartphone zombies, adults are indeed lacking as guiding role models and authority figures and those that try are punished by society for it, the dangers of escapism are also pretty real and the advancements offered by these technologies do pose dangers and may not lead to progress for the common man. I´d say that if this movie made you uncomfortable it´s probably because you recognized it´s points are valid. Considering all this i kind of expected the movie to make fun of the whole mind over reality culture (You know, fat people that think they are healthy, people that think they are the opposite sex or animals just because they feel they are... that kind of stuff) but i guess that´s where they draw the line between the aspects of society that can be safely criticized and the ones that will see you removed from the industry.
