Were there any movies you saw at the cinema, thought it wss great, then came come and learned it wad hated by both critics and regular audience? What movie was it? Did your perception of the movie changed when you learned it wasn't liked by other people?
>>219326225I really liked Meet The Spartans, like not even ironically.
>>219326225If I like a movie, no review or opinion from a friend could never change my mind. I don't mind debating what makes a movie "good", but at the end of the day enjoying a movie is entirely subjective and official ratings are worse than horoscopes.
>>219327557But did you ever had a a situation where your opinion on the movie differened significantly from opinion of critics and normies?
>>219328358A few times yeah. Most of my favorites are considered mid tier. >Super 8 >Road to El Dorado >Army of the Dead >Avatar 1-3And a few that I dislike are beloved treasures>HEAT>Hereditary>The Babadook >Dune(new ones)
>>219326225There were a few that were the opposite for me. People said they were great, but I didn't like them. Most of the time, my initial impression is the one that sticks, but there's been a few times I rewatched it years later and found myself enjoying it. I think it was caused by bad expectations going in, not ready for that type of story, wanting more of a different style of story instead, or just plain not getting it until I came back later and it clicked. Doesn't happen that often, there's still plenty that remain on the 'terrible' list
