Now that the dust has settled...What went wrong with this series?

>>219326736The need to escalate everything with every installments. Action scenes became less realistic as it goes on (although it being stylized is the whole point). Characters became wayy too invincible, people shit on Fast and Furious for making characters invincible but John Wick does the same, the only difference is that he gets torn up badly. The lore becomes needlessly convuluted, I cringed at the end of 2 where every single people in the park are part of the network.

I think the 4 John Wick movies are fun. Halle Berry is still so fucking hot. 4 was a little overindulgent though, way too long.
it just kept getting more stupid. the blind guy parrying bullets was too much for me.
I was okay with it becoming an anime but at least pay it off. The big bad being some clown killed it for me. And the big conclusion is Wick just taking a bullet because of all the 1000 people he killed, he felt bad about this one chink.

First ran on still camera work in a world of shakycam. Had fantastic choreography. Dropped little hints that expanded the world and made it somewhat intriguing and charming. Second and beyond ruined all imagination by answering questions that didn't need answering. It overstuffed the pig and became vomit and shit. Action sequences became less about absorbing the scene and good choreography, and more about "how much more outlandish bullshit can we put in the scene." Typical sequelitis.
They practically became gun advertisements. No one would remember the KSG shotgun if it weren't for John Wick. And Staccato 2011's wouldn't have had their huge marketing push either
